You can enter a Coinepay virtual card at Calm’s website checkout when purchasing a subscription. Before you start, check which Calm plan you want and whether you are paying Calm directly or through an app store: that choice determines where you update your card or cancel later.

What you need before paying

  • A Calm account. On Calm’s website, you can sign up or log in using email, Facebook, Apple or Google.
  • A Coinepay account and virtual card. Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Your virtual card provides a card number, expiry date and CVV, which you can view in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard.
  • Enough available funds. Check the amount shown at Calm checkout, including any applicable tax, against the funds available for your card. If you select a trial, also plan for the charge displayed for when that trial ends.
  • Your real billing details. Have the billing name and address associated with your payment details ready. Do not enter a different address to try to obtain another region’s offer.

Calm’s consumer options include the limited-access Basic tier, paid Calm Premium monthly and annual subscriptions, Calm Premium Family, and a one-account Calm Premium Lifetime Membership. Availability, offers and taxes can depend on your checkout. At the time of writing (October 2026), Calm’s plan page displayed an individual annual offer of $79.99 per year after a trial; check Calm’s official plan page and the final checkout terms for the price and trial offered to you. Do not assume a particular trial length or offer applies to your account.

How to subscribe on Calm’s website

  1. Open Calm’s official website. Go to Calm’s plan page and choose the subscription you want. The annual plan is available through Calm’s web plan-selection flow. If you want Calm Premium Family, purchase it on Calm’s website rather than through an in-app upgrade.
  2. Create an account or log in. Use the sign-up option shown on Calm’s site. If you already use Calm, sign in to the account where you want Premium access; this helps avoid buying a subscription on a second account.
  3. Review the offer. Confirm the selected plan, localized price, billing interval, taxes, any trial terms and the date of the first or next charge. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled.
  4. Enter your Coinepay card details. Retrieve the card number, expiry date and CVV from Coinepay and enter them in Calm’s website payment form. Provide your real billing details, matching the details used for the payment wherever the form asks for them.
  5. Complete any payment verification. If a verification prompt appears, follow its instructions promptly. Then return to Calm’s checkout and check whether it confirms the purchase. Do not repeatedly submit payment if the result is unclear.
  6. Verify your subscription. In the Calm app, open Profile → Settings → Manage Subscription to check the billing provider. For a direct web purchase, you can also check Profile → Settings → Manage Subscription at calm.com.

Calm lists certain credit cards, qualifying network-backed debit cards, PayPal and Google Pay among its website payment methods; Apple Pay is also listed on a supported Apple device. This list does not establish that a particular Coinepay card will be accepted. If you need to confirm whether your card meets Calm’s payment requirements before buying, contact Coinepay support. Calm’s checkout decision is still made during payment.

Web checkout versus an in-app purchase

Paying on Calm’s website is different from starting a subscription inside the iOS or Android app. An in-app purchase is confirmed through Apple App Store or Google Play billing, respectively. In that case, the payment methods available to you are those offered by Apple or Google for your account; entering card details on Calm’s website will not update an app-store subscription.

To see who bills an existing subscription, check Profile → Settings → Manage Subscription in the Calm app. For a Calm.com-billed subscription, go to the same area at calm.com and select Update Payment Method to change the card. For an Apple-billed subscription, use iPhone Settings → [name] → Subscriptions to manage the subscription and Apple’s payment settings to change its funding method. For Google billing, go to Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions and manage payment details through Google. If you paid through PayPal, change its funding source in PayPal.

A Calm gift card works differently: it is a code to redeem, not a card-payment option at subscription checkout. Make sure you are following the flow for the product you intend to buy.

What to do if Calm declines your card

Calm documents the website error “There was an error charging your card”. It can have several causes, so check the details before trying again:

  • Insufficient available funds: Compare your card’s available funds with Calm’s final checkout amount, including tax where applicable. Also check whether an earlier attempt is still pending before making another attempt. Review your Coinepay app for the card’s current funding information.
  • Card or billing-detail mismatch: Re-enter the card number, expiry date and CVV carefully. Check the billing name, address and ZIP or postal code against your genuine billing details. Calm identifies mismatched card details or billing ZIP as possible reasons for this error.
  • Verification did not finish: If checkout presents a 3-D Secure or other authentication step, complete it as instructed. If the prompt expires or the page closes, return to checkout and try once more. If no prompt appears, do not assume verification was the cause; ask Coinepay support whether it can identify the decline.
  • Recurring or international-payment checks: Calm notes that blocks on recurring charges, fraud checks and international-payment restrictions can cause web checkout errors. Contact Coinepay support with the transaction time and amount so they can help you investigate what happened. Do not share your CVV or full card number in a support message.
  • Merchant region or payment-method checks: Use your actual location and billing details, and review the offer presented for your region. If the checkout cannot accept the card or offer for your account, do not change your details to bypass the check. Ask Calm about its checkout requirements and Coinepay support whether your card meets them.

If you see a charge but no Premium access, first confirm which Calm account is signed in and which provider billed the purchase. Check your receipt or subscription status before paying again. Calm can help investigate access or checkout issues on its side; Coinepay support can help investigate card-side transaction information.

Renewal, cancellation and refund checks

Calm’s monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically. Calm says to cancel at least 24 hours before the current billing period or promotional trial ends if you do not want the next charge. Cancellation generally stops renewal while leaving access through the remainder of the paid or trial period. Set a reminder based on the end date shown by your billing provider rather than relying on the date you first opened the app.

Cancel with the provider that bills you: use Profile → Settings → Manage Subscription at calm.com for a direct website purchase, iPhone Settings → [name] → Subscriptions for Apple billing, or Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions for Google billing. If you move from an individual subscription to Calm Premium Family, check the old subscription’s billing status afterward; an Apple- or Google-billed individual subscription needs separate cancellation to prevent another renewal.

Canceling does not itself request a refund. Calm’s help guidance describes a request process for eligible Calm.com purchases within 30 days; Google Play purchase requests go to Calm Support, while Apple purchase requests go to Apple. The stated process excludes lifetime memberships, gift cards, Family and enterprise plans. A request is not a guaranteed refund: review Calm’s current terms and any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.

Keep your purchase confirmation and check your subscription status after any change. For questions about your virtual card or a declined card transaction, use Coinepay support; for Calm plan access, renewal or refund questions, contact Calm through its official support channels.

FAQ

Can I enter my Coinepay virtual card in the Calm app?

An in-app Calm purchase uses Apple App Store or Google Play billing. To enter card details directly with Calm, use Calm’s website checkout; acceptance is determined at checkout.

Where do I update my card for a Calm website subscription?

At calm.com, open Profile → Settings → Manage Subscription → Update Payment Method. Apple- or Google-billed subscriptions must be managed through their respective billing systems.

What does “There was an error charging your card” mean?

Calm lists insufficient funds, mismatched card or billing details, fraud blocks, and recurring or international-payment restrictions as possible causes. Check your details and contact support if the error persists.

Will canceling Calm automatically refund my payment?

No. Cancellation stops future renewal but does not submit a refund request. The request route and eligibility depend on whether Calm, Apple or Google billed you and on the applicable terms.
