Alamo Drafthouse's Season Pass is a monthly movie subscription managed through a Victory rewards membership and the Alamo mobile app. This guide explains how to set up a Coinepay virtual card, pick a plan, and complete checkout, with a troubleshooting section for the payment errors people run into most. Note that the subscription here is the Alamo Drafthouse Season Pass, not Alamo Rent a Car.

What you need before you start

  • A verified Coinepay account. You must register and complete identity verification (KYC) before you can create and use a virtual card. Start at the Coinepay sign-up page if you do not have an account yet.
  • A Coinepay virtual card with its card number, expiry date and CVV, available instantly in the iOS app or Android app once your card is issued.
  • Enough balance on the card to cover the monthly plan fee plus applicable tax, and later any per-ticket fees.
  • The Alamo Drafthouse app (iOS or Android) and a Victory rewards membership, which is required to subscribe.
  • Your real billing details. Use the name and billing address tied to your Coinepay account exactly as they appear in the app.

Alamo's Season Pass terms refer to a recurring payment method and a credit card, but an official list of accepted subscription card networks and card types is not published. Because of that, confirm with Coinepay support that your card is suitable for recurring subscriptions before you rely on it, and check Alamo's own policy page. Whether any specific merchant accepts a given card is never guaranteed.

Choose your Season Pass plan

Alamo offers several plans with different access levels. At the time of writing (October 2026), the published monthly base prices before tax are:

PlanBase price (before tax)Access
Limited$9.99One ticket credit per month, rolling over up to three months (pilot in Dallas and Chicago)
Limited+$10.99Limited access with added flexibility
Classic$19.99One eligible movie per day
Classic+$29.99Classic access usable at any Alamo Drafthouse theater
All In$29.99One eligible movie per day with eligible ticketing fees waived
All In+$39.99All In access usable at any Alamo Drafthouse theater

Prices vary by region. For example, Dallas/Fort Worth lists Limited at $9.99, Classic at $19.99 and All In at $29.99, while the San Francisco Bay Area lists Classic at $29.99 and All In at $39.99. Select your theater to confirm the plans and price it offers before you buy, and always check Alamo's official Season Pass page for the current figures.

Keep ticket charges in mind too: Limited and Classic plans carry a $2.19 standard-ticket fee or $4.18 premium-ticket fee, while All In plans waive eligible ticketing fees, including fees on additional tickets in the same order.

Create and fund your Coinepay virtual card

  1. Open the Coinepay app or dashboard and sign in to your verified account.
  2. Create a virtual card. The card number, expiry date and CVV are shown instantly.
  3. Make sure the card has enough balance for the monthly fee plus tax. A recurring subscription will be re-charged on each monthly anniversary, so keep funds available for renewals.
  4. Note the billing address associated with your Coinepay account so you can enter it exactly during checkout.

If you want to keep this spend separate from other payments, you can use a dedicated card just for your Season Pass and monitor it from the 24/7 dashboard.

Subscribe and pay step by step

  1. In the Alamo Drafthouse app, sign in or create your Victory rewards membership.
  2. Go to the Season Pass section and select your location. This determines which plans and prices are available to you.
  3. Choose your plan (for example Classic or All In) and start the subscribe flow.
  4. When prompted for payment, enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV.
  5. Enter the cardholder name and billing address exactly as they appear in your Coinepay profile.
  6. Review the monthly fee and applicable tax. Your membership starts at sign-up and renews automatically, with the fee and tax charged on each monthly anniversary.
  7. Confirm. If prompted by a 3-D Secure verification step, approve it through Coinepay to finish.

To use the pass afterward, reserve tickets in the Alamo app: choose a showtime and seat, then apply your pass when prompted at checkout. Season Pass tickets are reserved in the app and do not use box-office paper tickets.

Troubleshooting a declined or failed payment

Some subscribers have reported messages such as "uh oh" and "credit card is declined" at checkout, and "unable to complete order. Please double check payment information," along with app issues like "card vault locked" and a payment screen that would not load. These reports do not confirm that a bank declined the card, and the underlying causes are not established. Work through the checks below if your payment does not go through.

Insufficient balance

Confirm your Coinepay card holds enough to cover the plan fee plus tax, and later any per-ticket fees. Top up and retry if the balance is short.

Billing address mismatch

The name and billing address you enter must match the details on your Coinepay account. A mismatch is a common cause of a card being rejected at checkout. Re-enter them carefully.

3-D Secure verification

If a confirmation prompt appears and is not completed, the charge can fail. Make sure you can receive and approve the verification through the Coinepay app, then try again.

Card details entered incorrectly

Double-check the card number, expiry and CVV. A single wrong digit can trigger a "double check payment information" style error.

App or merchant-side issues

If you see a "card vault locked" message or a payment screen that will not load, these look like app-side problems rather than a card problem. Close and reopen the Alamo app, confirm you are on the latest version, and try again later.

Region and card-type checks

Alamo determines available plans and prices by location, and some plans are limited to certain markets; availability outside Alamo's listed U.S. theater markets is not confirmed. Because Alamo does not publish the card types it accepts for subscriptions, ask Coinepay support to confirm your card is suitable for this recurring charge before you buy, rather than assuming it will work. Always use your real identity and billing details.

Managing, changing and cancelling your subscription

Alamo says cancellation is available in the mobile app's settings and by email to [email protected], and plan changes go through that email address. The exact in-app path for changing your billing card is not confirmed, so check the app's settings or contact Alamo if you need to update the Coinepay card on file. You can cancel at any time; access continues to your monthly anniversary, but the membership fee is not refunded or prorated. To cancel a Season Pass ticket reservation, do so in the app at least one hour before showtime; additional tickets bought in that checkout are refunded when the Season Pass ticket is returned.

On the Coinepay side, you can track every charge from the dashboard or app. If you plan to keep the subscription, keep the card funded so automatic renewals succeed. For help with your card or a failed payment, reach Coinepay support or the Coinepay Telegram, and visit the Coinepay site to learn more.

FAQ

Which Alamo Drafthouse Season Pass plan should I pay for?

Choose based on how often you watch movies and where. Limited gives one credit a month (a pilot in Dallas and Chicago), while Classic and All In give one eligible movie per day. All In plans also waive eligible ticketing fees. Prices vary by region, so select your theater and confirm the plan and price on Alamo's official Season Pass page before subscribing.

Does Alamo accept a Coinepay virtual card for the Season Pass?

Alamo's Season Pass terms mention a recurring payment method but do not publish a list of accepted subscription card types, and no merchant acceptance can be guaranteed. Enter your Coinepay card details and real billing address at checkout, and contact Coinepay support first to confirm your card is suitable for recurring subscriptions.

Why was my card declined at Alamo checkout?

Common causes include insufficient balance, a billing address that does not match your Coinepay account, an incomplete 3-D Secure step, or a mistyped card number, expiry or CVV. Some reported errors like 'card vault locked' appear to be app-side issues, so update and reopen the Alamo app and retry.

How is my Coinepay card charged for the subscription?

Your membership starts at sign-up and renews automatically, with the monthly fee plus applicable tax charged on each monthly anniversary. Keep enough balance on your Coinepay virtual card so renewals and any per-ticket fees succeed.

How do I cancel or change my Season Pass billing card?

Alamo says you can cancel in the app's settings or by email to [email protected], and plan changes go through that email. The exact in-app path for changing the billing card is not confirmed, so check the app settings or contact Alamo. Access continues to your monthly anniversary and the fee is not refunded or prorated.
