Millions of Nepali workers in Saudi Arabia send money home every month to family, for bills, education and savings. Coinepay Global Remittance lets you send a cross-border transfer from Saudi Arabia to Nepal from one self-service dashboard, with the exchange rate and fees shown clearly before you confirm. This guide explains what you need, the local payout methods available in Nepal, the step-by-step flow, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Coinepay supports transfers to Nepal, and you can choose bank-account deposit, a local mobile wallet or cash pickup. Every transfer is subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations, and Coinepay may ask for documents such as the purpose or source of funds.

Before you start: what the sender needs

To send money from Saudi Arabia you first need a Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. If you have not signed up yet, register with Coinepay and finish verification before you try to send. You can manage everything from the dashboard or the app on iOS and Google Play.

Saudi-regulated transfer institutions must collect complete originator and beneficiary information; a transfer that is missing required details cannot be executed. So have your own verified details ready, plus accurate information about your recipient. The destination currency in Nepal is the Nepalese rupee (NPR).

Core recipient information

  • Recipient's full legal name exactly as it appears on their ID or bank records.
  • The payout method you want to use (bank deposit, mobile wallet or cash pickup).
  • The purpose of the transfer and your relationship to the recipient — these are commonly requested for Nepal.

Choosing a payout method for Nepal

Coinepay lets you pick how the money reaches your recipient. Each method needs slightly different details.

Bank-account deposit

For a bank deposit you generally need the recipient's full name, the bank name (mandatory in most countries), the bank account number and, where requested, the branch. For a bank-to-bank SWIFT payment you also need the receiving bank's own SWIFT/BIC code — for example, Rastriya Banijya Bank publishes the BIC RBBANPKA and asks for the beneficiary's name, account number, address, contact number and transfer purpose. Confirm the correct BIC and branch directly with your recipient's bank, since each bank has its own code.

Two points specific to Nepal:

  • No national IBAN. Nepal has no registered IBAN format in SWIFT's September 2026 registry, so use the local account number — never invent an IBAN.
  • No IFSC/CLABE/routing number. These codes are used for India, Mexico and the US respectively and are not part of Nepal bank-detail requirements. One provider accepts a 9–20 digit Nepal account number as its own requirement; this is not a confirmed nationwide standard, so copy the exact account number your recipient gives you.

Mobile wallet

Digital wallets are widely used in Nepal. For eSewa, for instance, remittance to a wallet is handled through Saudi partners such as Enjaz and Ria, and the recipient's eSewa-registered mobile number is what's needed to credit the wallet. If you choose a wallet payout in Coinepay, make sure the recipient's mobile number matches the one registered to their wallet, and that the name on the wallet matches the recipient name you enter.

Cash pickup

Cash pickup is available through Nepal remittance networks. For this option the recipient collects the funds in NPR at a payout location. They will typically need a valid government-issued ID that matches the recipient name on the transfer, and any reference or control number the payout service provides. Agent operating hours and local cash availability can affect when the money can be collected.

Step-by-step: send money to Nepal

  1. Sign in to the Coinepay app or dashboard and open Global Remittance.
  2. Choose the destination: select Nepal as the country and NPR as the payout currency.
  3. Select the payout method: bank deposit, mobile wallet or cash pickup.
  4. Enter the recipient details for that method — full legal name plus the bank/account, wallet mobile number or pickup details described above. Double-check every digit.
  5. Enter the amount and the transfer purpose and your relationship to the recipient if asked.
  6. Review the exchange rate and fees that Coinepay shows on screen, along with the amount your recipient should receive, before you commit.
  7. Confirm the transfer. Coinepay may run compliance and sanctions screening and ask for supporting documents at this stage.
  8. Track the status of the transfer in the app until it shows as paid out. You will see each stage of its progress.

Recipient-side considerations in Nepal

Banks in Nepal require up-to-date recipient KYC and a stated purpose, and may ask for supporting documents. Rastriya Banijya Bank notes that mismatched details can cause a SWIFT transfer to be held or rejected, so accuracy matters.

Some receipts have extra rules. Social organisations receiving overseas donations or support need prior Social Welfare Council approval under the relevant Nepal Rastra Bank circular. Separately, Nepal's financial intelligence guidelines require reporting entities to report qualifying cross-border bank transfers of NPR 1 million or more in a single transaction or a series in one day in one account — this is a reporting threshold, not a general limit on what a recipient can receive. Your recipient may be contacted by their bank for routine information as part of these checks.

Troubleshooting

Wrong or mismatched recipient details

An incorrect account number, a name that does not match the bank or wallet record, or a wrong wallet mobile number is the most common cause of a held or returned transfer. Check the status in your Coinepay dashboard; if it has not yet been paid out, contact Coinepay support as soon as possible to see whether the details can be corrected.

Compliance or document review

If your transfer is paused for review, it is usually because more information is needed — for example confirming the purpose or source of funds. Respond promptly with any documents Coinepay requests. This is a standard part of sanctions screening and local regulation and helps the transfer proceed.

Delays

Beyond reviews, payout can be affected by currency availability, the receiver needing to act or show ID, agent operating hours and time-zone differences between Saudi Arabia and Nepal. Use the in-app tracker to see where the transfer is before assuming something is wrong.

Returned transfers

If a bank rejects a deposit because of mismatched or incomplete details, or the recipient cannot be verified, the funds are typically returned. Once a return is confirmed, correct the details and send again, or reach out to support for help.

Tips for a smooth transfer

  • Confirm the exact spelling of the recipient's legal name with their bank or wallet record.
  • Ask your recipient's bank directly for its SWIFT/BIC and branch before sending.
  • Keep the on-screen rate and fee summary — it shows what will be deducted and delivered.
  • Use your own real identity and details; never route a transfer through a third party.

FAQ

Does Coinepay support transfers from Saudi Arabia to Nepal?

Yes. Coinepay supports cross-border transfers to Nepal, with bank-account deposit, local mobile wallet and cash pickup payout options. All transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations.

What recipient details do I need to send to a Nepal bank account?

You generally need the recipient's full legal name, the bank name, the account number and, for SWIFT payments, the receiving bank's BIC and sometimes the branch. Nepal has no national IBAN, so use the local account number and never invent an IBAN.

Can I send money to an eSewa or mobile wallet in Nepal?

Yes. For a mobile wallet payout you need the recipient's wallet-registered mobile number, and the name should match the wallet account. Choose the mobile wallet option in Coinepay when you set up the transfer.

How much are the fees and what exchange rate will I get?

Coinepay shows the exact exchange rate, fees and the amount your recipient will receive on screen before you confirm the transfer. Review these details carefully, as they can vary, and confirm only when you are satisfied.

Why might my transfer to Nepal be delayed or returned?

Common causes include incorrect or mismatched recipient details, incomplete transfer information, missing KYC or requested documents, and routine compliance checks. Currency availability, receiver ID, agent hours and time-zone differences can also affect timing. Track the status in the app and contact support if needed.
