To send money from abroad to an Express Union Mobile Money account, select Cameroon and look for the Express Union Mobile Money wallet payout option in Coinepay Global Remittance. Before you pay, confirm the recipient’s registered details and review the exchange rate, fees and estimated arrival time shown in the app. The available payout options depend on the route you select.
What is Express Union Mobile Money?
Express Union calls its wallet service Express Union Mobile Money, also known as EUMM or EU Mobile Money. It is used in Cameroon, where wallet amounts are denominated in Central African CFA francs, commonly shown as FCFA or XAF. An EUMM wallet is linked to a telephone number.
A wallet payout is different from a bank-account deposit or a cash pickup. The recipient needs an active EUMM account that can receive the transfer; having a phone number alone does not establish that a wallet is ready to receive money. Express Union also offers other transfer channels, including agencies and distributors, but those are not the same as choosing an EUMM wallet payout in Coinepay.
Check the payout methods displayed for Cameroon in the Coinepay app before making plans with the recipient. If Express Union Mobile Money is not offered for your selected route, do not choose a different wallet or another person’s account as a substitute. You can review the other payout methods shown in the app or contact Coinepay support about the route.
What details should you get from the recipient?
Ask the recipient to check their own Express Union Mobile Money account details and send you:
- The phone number registered to their EUMM wallet, including the country code if the transfer form requests it. If Coinepay’s form asks for an account ID instead, ask the recipient for the identifier their wallet provider uses for receiving transfers.
- Their full name exactly as registered with Express Union Mobile Money. Ask them to check the spelling and order of their names rather than relying on a nickname or the name saved in your contacts.
- Confirmation that the wallet is active and ready to receive funds. This matters particularly if the account was recently opened, has not been used for some time, or may be close to its receiving or balance limits.
Express Union’s account terms require an EUMM account holder to be at least 18, complete registration and provide photo identification at an agency or authorized distributor. Its published terms describe wallet transaction and balance limits. Do not assume every incoming transfer can be credited simply because its amount looks small: the wallet’s current balance, account status and applicable transaction rules may matter. Ask the recipient to check their account with Express Union if they are unsure whether they can receive the intended amount.
Only enter the details requested by the Coinepay transfer form. Neither you nor Coinepay needs the recipient’s EUMM PIN to address a wallet payout. Express Union uses that PIN to authorize debits from the customer’s wallet, so the recipient should keep it private.
How to send to an EUMM wallet with Coinepay
- Open Coinepay Global Remittance. Sign in through the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard. If you are new, register with Coinepay and complete the identity verification requested for your transfer.
- Set up a transfer to Cameroon. Choose the amount you want to send and review the available delivery methods for the destination. The form may ask you to select a recipient or add a new one.
- Choose the wallet payout. Select Express Union Mobile Money if it appears among the available mobile-wallet options. Do not select a similarly named cash-pickup or bank-deposit option if the recipient expects funds in an EUMM wallet.
- Enter the recipient’s details. Supply the registered phone number or the account identifier requested by the form, and enter the recipient’s full name exactly as registered. Compare the number and name with information the recipient has just confirmed.
- Review the transfer before confirming. Check the destination, payout method, recipient details, amount the recipient is expected to receive, exchange rate and fees. Coinepay shows the rate, fees and estimated arrival time before you confirm. If anything does not match your instructions, go back and correct it rather than submitting the transfer to see what happens.
- Confirm and follow its status. Complete any verification steps shown in Coinepay, confirm the transfer, and use its status tracking to monitor progress. Keep the transfer reference available in case you need help.
Cross-border transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay may request documents about the purpose of a transfer or the source of funds. Provide accurate information and respond through the requested channel if a review is needed. Coinepay does not serve sanctioned persons or residents of jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions.
How does the recipient know the money has arrived?
Once a transfer is completed and credited, the recipient should check their EUMM wallet balance and transaction history using an Express Union channel available to them. Express Union lists the EU Mobile Money app, its Cameroon USSD service and other customer channels for managing mobile-money transactions. The recipient can also look for a transaction SMS: Express Union says it sends an SMS after each transaction showing charges and the new balance. They should confirm the credit in their own wallet rather than relying solely on a message forwarded by the sender.
Do not treat a Coinepay submission confirmation as proof that the wallet has been credited. Check the transfer’s tracked status and ask the recipient to verify the balance. If Coinepay shows the transfer as completed but the recipient cannot find the credit, gather the transfer reference, the registered wallet number and the recipient’s confirmation of their account details before contacting support. Avoid sharing the recipient’s PIN or identity documents in an ordinary chat.
Troubleshooting an Express Union Mobile Money payout
Wrong phone number or account identifier
If you spot an error before confirmation, edit the recipient details. If you have already confirmed, contact Coinepay support immediately with the transfer reference and explain which detail is wrong. Do not assume a wallet transfer can be cancelled or reversed. Express Union describes cancellation conditions for certain erroneous transactions, but those terms do not establish that every wallet-to-wallet credit is reversible.
Recipient name does not match
Ask the recipient to check the name recorded on their EUMM account, then compare it with the transfer details. A nickname, omitted surname or different name order can make a match difficult. If the transfer is already pending, ask Coinepay support whether a correction is possible; do not create a second transfer until you know what happened to the first.
Wallet limit reached or account not verified
An EUMM wallet is subject to transaction and balance limits, and its holder must complete Express Union’s registration and identification requirements. If the wallet cannot accept the payment, the recipient should check their account status and applicable limits directly with Express Union. If identification is incomplete, they should follow Express Union’s legitimate verification process. Changing the recipient to someone else or breaking the payment into smaller transfers is not a way to resolve account or compliance requirements.
Transfer is under review or the wallet is blocked
Follow Coinepay’s status updates and provide any requested documents through its official channels. Express Union says wallet accounts may be blocked for technical reasons, suspected fraud or a complaint about an erroneous transaction; prolonged inactivity may also lead to deactivation. If the recipient cannot access their wallet, they should contact Express Union about the account while you contact Coinepay about the cross-border transfer. Keep both the transfer reference and any wallet transaction information so the providers can investigate the same payment.

FAQ
Which country and currency should I select for Express Union Mobile Money?
Select Cameroon and look for Express Union Mobile Money as the wallet payout method. Wallet amounts there are denominated in Central African CFA francs (XAF or FCFA). Check the options shown for your route in Coinepay.
Do I need the recipient’s phone number or their wallet ID?
Have the recipient confirm their registered EUMM phone number and full name exactly as registered. If Coinepay asks for an account ID instead, enter the receiving identifier confirmed by the recipient.
Can I send to an EUMM wallet that has not completed verification?
The recipient should complete Express Union’s registration and identification requirements and check that their wallet can receive the intended transfer before you send.
What if I entered the wrong EUMM number?
Correct it before confirming. If the transfer has already been confirmed, contact Coinepay support immediately with its reference. Do not assume the transfer can be reversed.
How can I confirm that the recipient received the money?
Track the transfer in Coinepay and ask the recipient to check their EUMM wallet balance and transaction history. A submitted transfer is not, by itself, proof of a wallet credit.
