Trend Micro Internet Security is a consumer security product that typically covers up to three devices. If you manage your money with a Coinepay virtual card, this guide walks through creating a Trend Micro account, choosing the right plan, paying at checkout, and resolving the card-declined messages Trend Micro actually shows.

Before you start

You will need a few things ready so checkout goes smoothly:

  • A verified Coinepay account. Register at Coinepay and complete identity verification (KYC) before you try to pay. You can create and manage your card from the iOS or Android app, or the 24/7 dashboard.
  • Your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV, which appear in the app as soon as the card is issued.
  • Enough balance on the card to cover the plan price plus any tax Trend Micro adds at checkout.
  • Your real billing details — name and billing address — matching what your card issuer has on file.

Important restriction: Trend Micro's online store states that prepaid cards are not accepted. Its accepted methods are listed as Visa, Mastercard, EuroCard, Discover, American Express, Diners Club, JCB, PayPal and Google Pay, and it notes that check/ATM cards on those networks may also work. Before you buy, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Trend Micro's requirement. Keep your purchase in the region your account and billing details belong to — Trend Micro's consumer terms restrict use to the region the software was authorized for.

Choose the right plan

Trend Micro's home lineup lists several separate products rather than tiers of one subscription. In the United States these are Antivirus+ Security (1 device), Internet Security (3 devices), Maximum Security (5 devices) and Premium Security Suite (10 devices). Internet Security itself is offered for 3 devices over 12 or 24 months.

At the time of writing (October 2026), the US Internet Security product page displayed US$59.95 for 12 months and a US$119.95 24-month option, while the US online shop showed US$39.95 for 12 months only after applying code LDSALE at checkout. The UK shop displayed £39.95 for 12 months (auto-renewing at £64.95 per year unless cancelled) with a £79.90 24-month option; Germany showed €49.95 for 12 months (renewing at €64.95). In Australia the home lineup is different and a current Internet Security offer is not listed.

Prices, promotions and taxes vary by region and change often, so treat these figures as a reference only and confirm the final total on Trend Micro's official page for your country before you pay.

Create a Trend Micro account

You can set up an account without buying anything first:

  1. Go to the TrendLife account portal at account.trendlife.com and select Create Account.
  2. Register with an email address or phone number, or use Google or Apple sign-up.
  3. Use your real name and details — these feed into your billing and licence records.

Buy Internet Security and pay with your card

  1. On the official Trend Micro store for your region, open the Internet Security product page.
  2. Select the product, then choose your duration and device plan (for example 3 devices for 12 or 24 months).
  3. Click Subscribe (or Buy Now) to reach Trend Micro checkout, then log in or register when prompted.
  4. If you have a valid promotion such as LDSALE, enter the code in the checkout field and confirm the discounted total updates.
  5. Choose credit/debit card as your payment method.
  6. Enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV, and the billing name and address that match your card.
  7. Complete any 3-D Secure authentication step if it appears (see below).
  8. Accept the stated terms and charges where prompted, then submit payment.
  9. Watch for the confirmation email. Your licence should appear under Licenses in the account portal.
Online purchases include automatic renewal at the then-current renewal price plus applicable taxes. Renewal prices increased for some plans starting with the first renewal on or after September 1, 2026, so check your renewal notice or account quote for the exact figure.

Troubleshooting a declined card

If the payment fails, work through the causes Trend Micro documents before trying again.

Insufficient funds or card limit

Trend Micro lists insufficient funds and a reached card limit among possible authorization failures. Open the Coinepay app, confirm your available balance covers the plan price plus tax, top up if needed, and retry. A bank or store technical error can also cause a temporary failure, so a short wait and a second attempt sometimes clears it.

Wrong card details

Incorrect card number, expiry date or CVV, and expired cards, are common decline reasons. Copy each value directly from your Coinepay card view rather than typing from memory, and check you have not transposed digits.

Billing address mismatch

If the billing name and address at checkout do not match what your issuer holds, the charge can be rejected. Re-enter your details exactly as they appear on your Coinepay account and correct any typo in the postcode or country.

3-D Secure authentication

If you see "Sorry, we are unable to process your order. Your card must be authenticated with 3-D Secure before continuing," the authentication step did not complete. Make sure you can receive the approval prompt — keep the Coinepay app open and approve any confirmation it sends, then restart checkout and finish the verification without closing the browser window.

Issuer fraud block or prepaid restriction

Issuers sometimes block an unexpected international charge as suspected fraud. Because Trend Micro also does not accept prepaid cards, a decline could relate to the card type or network. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Trend Micro's requirement and that nothing on your side is blocking the merchant.

"The transaction was declined" message

The message "The transaction was declined. Please use a different card, contact your bank, or contact support" can follow an earlier dispute, chargeback and refund that restricts the account. If a previous order was reversed, Trend Micro support must review that restriction before a new purchase will go through.

Purchases through other sellers

If you bought through a partner such as Best Buy, you may see "Payment Required. Your credit card number could not be processed. Please contact Best Buy and ask for the Subscription Software Team." In that case the seller, not Trend Micro, manages the billing.

Manage billing, renewal and refunds

To update your card later, sign in at account.trendlife.com, go to Licenses, open the subscription's Manage Subscription, then Change Credit Card Details. Trend Micro says changes can take up to 48 hours to appear.

To stop future charges, use Licenses → Manage Subscription → Cancel Subscription, continue through the feedback form and select Stop Auto Renew; this leaves your paid term active until it expires. Official online-store security purchases carry a 30-day money-back guarantee (excluding any shipping) via Refund a Recent Purchase → Online in the help center, and annual automatic-renewal charges are refund-eligible within 30 days of the renewal date. Note that some partner subscriptions may not show a working Manage Subscription button and require support or the billing partner.

If you are unsure whether your Coinepay card will clear Trend Micro's checks, reach out before buying through Coinepay support or our Telegram channel.

FAQ

Does Trend Micro accept prepaid cards?

Trend Micro's online store states that prepaid cards are not accepted. Its listed methods include Visa, Mastercard, EuroCard, Discover, American Express, Diners Club, JCB, PayPal and Google Pay. Before you buy, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets this requirement.

How much does Trend Micro Internet Security cost?

Prices vary by region, promotion and tax. At the time of writing (October 2026) the US product page showed US$59.95 for 12 months (3 devices) and US$119.95 for 24 months, with a US$39.95 online-shop price after code LDSALE. Why was my card declined at Trend Micro checkout?

Common causes Trend Micro lists are insufficient funds, a reached card limit, an incorrect number, expiry or CVV, an expired card, an issuer fraud block, or incomplete 3-D Secure authentication. Check your Coinepay balance and details, approve any verification prompt, and retry.

What does the 3-D Secure error mean?
