Zoho Mail is a business email service that lets you run professional mailboxes on your own domain. If you want to upgrade from the free tier to a paid plan, you pay through Zoho's own checkout (Zoho Payments). This guide shows how to subscribe using a Coinepay virtual card, what to prepare first, and how to work through the most common reasons a card is declined.
What you need before you start
- A verified Coinepay account. Register and complete identity verification (KYC) first at the Coinepay sign-up page, then create a virtual card. You get an instant card number, expiry date and CVV in the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app.
- Funds on the card. Make sure the card balance covers the plan total plus any local taxes, which Zoho adds on top of the listed price.
- Your real billing details. Use the name, address and country that match your Coinepay account. Entering accurate billing information helps the payment pass bank and address checks.
- Access to your domain's DNS. A domain-based Zoho Mail account requires you to change DNS records during setup, so have your domain registrar login ready.
Zoho Mail lists Mastercard, Visa, American Express, JCB, Discover and PayPal as payment options, and notes that not every card network is supported in every country. Because card acceptance depends on the merchant, the issuer and your region, nobody can promise in advance that a specific card will be accepted. If you want to confirm your card is suitable before you buy, contact Coinepay support.
Zoho Mail plans at a glance
Zoho's business-email tiers are the Forever Free Plan, Mail Lite (5 GB or 10 GB storage variants) and Mail Premium. The Mail-inclusive suite tiers are Workplace Standard, Workplace Professional and Workplace Enterprise (Enterprise requires a sales quote).
At the time of writing (October 2026), Zoho's official pricing page indexed U.S. dollar rates of Mail Lite 5 GB at US$1, Mail Lite 10 GB at US$1.25 and Mail Premium at US$4 per user per month billed annually; Workplace Standard and Professional were US$3 and US$6 billed annually, or US$4 and US$7 billed monthly. Mail Lite and Mail Premium have no monthly-billed option, and local taxes are added. Prices vary by region and currency and change over time, so always check the current figure on Zoho's pricing page before you pay. If you want to try before buying, Zoho offers a 15-day Mail Premium or Workplace Professional trial for up to 30 users without entering payment details.
Step-by-step: subscribe and pay
If you are creating a new account
- On Zoho's pricing page, choose the plan you want and select Sign Up.
- Follow the prompts to add your domain and verify ownership, then update the DNS records (MX and verification records) at your registrar as Zoho instructs.
- Create your admin mailbox and add any users you need, then continue to checkout.
If you are upgrading an existing organization
- Open the Mail Admin Console and go to Subscription → Overview → Manage Subscription → Change Plan.
- Select your plan. Note that upgrading from a free plan or trial requires licenses for every existing user in the organization.
- Review the order summary, then choose Proceed to Pay to open the Zoho Payments page.
Entering your Coinepay card
- On the Zoho Payments page, choose to pay by card.
- Enter the card number, expiry date and CVV exactly as shown in your Coinepay app. Type carefully and do not add spaces where the form does not expect them.
- Enter the billing name, address and country that match your Coinepay account.
- If a 3-D Secure (verification) prompt appears, approve it in your Coinepay app or follow the authentication step shown.
- Confirm the payment. After it succeeds, your plan activates and you can download the invoice.
Managing your card and invoices
To change the card on file or your billing address later, go to Subscription → Overview → Manage Subscription → Your Store Details → Payment Method. For payment records and invoice downloads, open Your Store Details → Transaction History. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled, so keep enough balance on your Coinepay card before each renewal date, or top it up in advance from the dashboard.
Troubleshooting a declined card
Zoho's checkout may show a generic message such as "our transaction has been declined" or "Card Declined", and in some cases "Expiry date is invalid". Zoho explains that a bank can reject a payment when the details supplied to Zoho Payments do not match the bank's records, and it advises correcting the details or trying another card or PayPal. Work through these causes:
- Insufficient balance. Confirm your Coinepay card holds enough for the full plan total plus local taxes and any per-user license fees. Top up and retry.
- Billing address mismatch. Re-enter the billing name, address and country so they match exactly what is registered on your Coinepay account. A mismatch is a frequent cause of rejection.
- 3-D Secure not completed. If an authentication prompt appears and times out, restart the checkout and approve the request promptly in your Coinepay app.
- Wrong card details. Double-check the number, expiry and CVV. The "Expiry date is invalid" message usually means a mistyped or out-of-range expiry.
- Merchant region or network checks. Zoho supports different card networks in different countries, and some banks block certain cross-border or online charges. Users in various countries have reported declines that were resolved by using another card or PayPal.
If payments keep failing, Zoho suggests contacting your card provider; you can reach Zoho about online payment options at [email protected], or about bank transfer and offline payment at [email protected]. On the Coinepay side, open the app to check the card status and balance, or contact Coinepay support to confirm the charge was not blocked at your end. You can also reach the team on Telegram.
Cancellation and refunds
To cancel, go to Subscription → Overview → Manage Subscription → Change Plan → Cancel Subscription. Where the Forever Free Plan is available in your data center, cancelling moves your organization to Free and disables paid features; where Free is not offered, cancellation can lock the organization out until you subscribe again. Zoho's refund policy offers a full refund for unresolved dissatisfaction within the first month of a monthly subscription or the first 45 days of an annual subscription, after contacting [email protected], with the account downgraded to Free. A forgotten cancellation may qualify for a refund if requested within five business days of a monthly renewal or 15 days of an annual renewal. Refunds are excluded when Zoho terminates an account for a terms violation. Check Zoho's official refund policy page for the current terms.
Get the Coinepay app
Manage your virtual card, check your balance and approve verification prompts from the 24/7 dashboard or the mobile app on iOS and Google Play. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction.
