Wix lets you build a website for free, but to connect a custom domain, remove ads or sell online you need a paid Premium plan. This guide walks through choosing a plan, running the Wix checkout, and paying with a Coinepay virtual card. It also covers the most common reasons a card is declined and what to try next. Note that paying Wix for a site plan is separate from accepting payments from your own site visitors through Wix Payments.

What you need before you start

To pay for a Wix subscription with a Coinepay card, have these ready:

  • A Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed. You can register with Coinepay and finish verification first, then manage everything from the Coinepay dashboard or the mobile app for iOS and Google Play.
  • A Coinepay virtual card with its card number, expiry date and CVV, and enough balance to cover the plan plus any applicable tax. Wix displays annual-plan prices as a monthly equivalent but collects the full yearly amount upfront, so budget for the whole year if you pick annual billing.
  • Your real billing details. Use the name and billing address tied to your Coinepay account so they match at checkout.
  • A Wix account. Sign-up is free with email, Facebook, Google or Apple, and you can choose a paid plan after creating a site.

Wix lists account-use restrictions for a number of sanctioned regions, and Coinepay does not serve sanctioned persons or residents of comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions. If you are in a restricted location, neither service will work.

Choose the right Wix plan

Wix website tiers are Free, Light, Core, Business, and Business Elite, with Enterprise quoted separately. If you plan to take online payments on your own site, note that Core is the first tier that permits online payments; Free and Light do not. Wix Studio, used for Studio-built sites, is a separate plan line (Free, Basic, Standard, Plus, Elite and quoted Enterprise).

At the time of writing (October 2026), Wix's published United States annual-billing prices were Free $0, Light $17, Core $29, Business $39 and Business Elite $159 per month equivalent, with the year paid upfront. Month-to-month prices were higher (for example Core $36). Prices and currency vary by location, and the final amount with tax appears before you pay, so always confirm on Wix's own pricing page for your country rather than relying on figures here.

Step-by-step: subscribe and pay at Wix checkout

  1. Sign in to Wix and open the site you want to upgrade.
  2. Go to Upgrade and select the site. Choose your plan (for example Core or Business) and a billing cycle. Annual billing shows a lower monthly-equivalent price but is charged as one yearly payment.
  3. Review the order summary. Wix shows the plan, billing cycle, applicable tax and the final total before you confirm.
  4. Select card as your payment method. Wix accepts major credit cards, eligible debit cards, PayPal and Apple Pay; the exact options depend on your location, device, product and billing cycle. Listed card networks include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diners and UnionPay. If you choose PayPal instead, payment completes on PayPal before returning to Wix.
  5. Enter your Coinepay card details: card number, expiry date, CVV, and the cardholder name and billing address exactly as held by Coinepay.
  6. Complete any verification. If a 3-D Secure or one-time passcode step appears, approve it through your Coinepay app or follow the prompt to confirm the charge.
  7. Confirm payment. After the charge succeeds, your plan activates and the charge appears in your Wix Billing History.

In some markets Wix offers location-specific methods, such as Pix and Boleto in Brazil or Razorpay in India. What is available for your purchase is always determined on the checkout screen.

Where to manage billing later

In a standard Wix account, plans and renewals are under Premium Subscriptions, saved cards are under Payment Methods, and charges and invoices are under Billing History. For Studio-built sites, workspace billing is under Billing & Subscriptions. If a renewal fails, you can update your card through Premium Subscriptions → Update Payment Method.

Because Wix subscriptions renew automatically, make sure your Coinepay card has enough balance ahead of the renewal date. Wix may charge an annual site-plan renewal up to three weeks before expiration, and any promotional first-period price reverts to the standard rate on renewal. Cards must permit recurring payments for a renewal to go through.

Troubleshooting a declined card

Wix lists several reasons a plan purchase can fail: an issuer decline, an expired card, insufficient funds, an invalid or lost/stolen card number, an incorrect CVV, or a card not enabled for online, cross-border or foreign-currency transactions. For renewals, it also lists a card not approved for recurring payments. Work through these causes:

Insufficient balance

Confirm your Coinepay card holds enough to cover the full charge, including the upfront yearly amount for annual plans plus tax. Top up in the Coinepay app and retry.

Billing address or CVV mismatch

Re-enter the card number, expiry, CVV and billing address exactly as they appear in Coinepay. A typo or a mismatched address is a common decline cause.

3-D Secure or verification step

If an authentication prompt fails or times out, start checkout again and keep the Coinepay app open so you can approve the confirmation quickly.

Online, cross-border or recurring not enabled

Wix requires debit cards to permit online and recurring payments, and declines cards not enabled for online, cross-border or foreign-currency transactions. The checkout may bill in a currency different from your home one. If you suspect this is the issue, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card can be used for this purchase before you try again. You can also reach the team via Telegram.

Merchant region checks

Wix determines the currency and available methods by your account location. Use your real location and billing details; do not attempt to disguise your region, as that breaks both Wix's terms and Coinepay's.

If a specific card is simply not accepted for your Wix purchase, try an alternative method offered on the checkout screen, such as PayPal or a local option, and raise the question with Coinepay support so you know which of your cards is suitable.

Cancellations and refunds

You can cancel at Premium Subscriptions → More Actions → Cancel Plan. Wix offers a guarantee where a first-time Premium or Studio plan purchase canceled within 14 days ends immediately with a full refund; renewals and cancellations after that window do not qualify. After 14 days, cancelling stops the next renewal but leaves the plan active through its paid period, and domains, business email and apps must be canceled separately. Any Wix refund is returned by Wix to the original payment method; timing is set by Wix and its partners, not Coinepay.

With a verified Coinepay account, a funded virtual card and matching billing details, paying for a Wix Premium plan is a standard card checkout. If a charge is declined, work through the causes above and check your card eligibility with Coinepay before retrying.

FAQ

Which Wix plan do I need to accept payments on my own site?

Core is the first Wix website tier that permits online payments. Free and Light do not. If you want to sell or take payments from visitors, choose Core or higher. Confirm current pricing on Wix's official plans page for your country.

Will Wix charge the whole year at once on an annual plan?

Yes. Wix shows annual-plan prices as a monthly equivalent but collects the full yearly subscription upfront, plus any applicable tax. Make sure your Coinepay card has enough balance to cover the full amount shown before you confirm.

My Coinepay card was declined at Wix checkout. What should I check?

Wix lists causes such as insufficient funds, expired card, incorrect CVV, a wrong billing address, an issuer decline, or a card not enabled for online, cross-border or recurring payments. Re-check your details and balance, and contact Coinepay support to confirm your card suits this purchase before retrying.

Can I use Coinepay for the automatic Wix renewal?

Renewals require a card approved for recurring payments, and Wix may charge an annual renewal up to three weeks before expiration. Keep enough balance on your card, and update it under Premium Subscriptions then Update Payment Method if a renewal is declined.

Can I get a refund if I cancel my Wix plan?

Wix offers a full refund if you cancel a first-time Premium or Studio purchase within 14 days; renewals and later cancellations do not qualify. Any refund is returned by Wix to your original payment method on Wix's timeline, not Coinepay's.
