Google Sites is the website-building app inside Google Workspace, not a service you buy on its own. There is no separate "Google Sites" checkout: to use the paid, business version of Sites with your own domain and admin controls, you subscribe to a Google Workspace edition, and the payment method you add to Workspace covers Sites along with Gmail, Drive and the other apps. This guide explains what you need, how the sign-up and billing flow works, an important card-type restriction to know before you pay, and how to troubleshoot a declined card.
Before you start
To subscribe you will need:
- A Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) completed, and a Coinepay virtual card with its card number, expiry date and CVV. If you do not have one yet, you can register with Coinepay and create a card in the dashboard or the mobile app (iOS, Android).
- A Gmail or business email address, and a domain name. You can use a domain you already own, or buy one during sign-up.
- Your real billing details — name, address and country — exactly as they appear on your Coinepay account.
Choose your billing country carefully. Google accepts Workspace payments in more than 230 countries, but the available currencies and payment methods depend on the billing country you pick, and that country and currency normally cannot be changed after billing is set up.
An important card-type restriction
Google's own Workspace payment documentation states that Workspace does not accept prepaid cards or virtual credit cards for subscription billing; it also excludes customer-initiated bank transfers, and wire transfer is only for invoiced accounts. For card payments Google names Visa, Mastercard and American Express; acceptance of other brands for a given account is not confirmed in Google's list.
Because of this, you should confirm your card type and brand before you rely on it. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets this requirement before you buy — you can reach the team via support or Telegram. Do not enter fake billing details or try to work around Google's payment checks; use your real identity and address.
Google Workspace plans and prices
Google's paid business editions are Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus and Enterprise (Enterprise pricing requires contacting Google sales). In India a regional Business Base edition is listed, which includes Sites and permits up to 20 users.
Prices are per user per month, excluding applicable tax, and are usually shown as a Flexible monthly rate and a lower one-year-commitment rate billed monthly. At the time of writing (October 2026), examples from Google's regional pages include:
| Region | Starter (flex / annual) | Standard | Plus |
|---|---|---|---|
| US | $8.40 / $7 | $16.80 / $14 | $26.40 / $22 |
| UK | £7 / £5.90 | £14 / £11.80 | £22 / £18.40 |
| Canada | C$11 / C$9.20 | C$22 / C$18.40 | C$34.40 / C$28.70 |
| Australia | A$11.80 / A$9.90 | A$23.60 / A$19.80 | A$37 / A$30.90 |
In India, Business Base is listed at ₹120 / ₹99. Prices change by region and over time, so always confirm the current figure on Google's official Workspace pricing page before you subscribe. These are Workspace prices, not a fee charged solely to use Sites.
Step by step: sign up and pay
- Pick an edition. On the Google Workspace site, choose Business Starter, Standard or Plus (or a regional edition such as Business Base).
- Start the sign-up. Enter your business details and sign up with an eligible email address, then set up your domain — use one you already own or purchase one during sign-up.
- Create your admin account. You become the primary super-administrator, which is the account that manages billing.
- Begin the trial. Workspace ordinarily starts with a 14-day trial. You must set up a payment method to start, but it is normally not charged until the trial ends. (An India NetBanking verification prepayment is an exception and becomes account credit.)
- Set up billing. In the Admin console go to Billing → Subscriptions → Start Paid Service / Set Up Billing, choose your billing options and add a payment method.
- Enter your Coinepay card. Type the card number, expiry date and CVV from your Coinepay app, and enter the billing name, address and country that match your Coinepay profile. Complete any 3-D Secure confirmation if prompted.
- Confirm. After the trial, the paid subscription begins automatically when billing is set up. If you bought a domain during sign-up, its one-year registration charge is billed immediately and separately from the monthly Workspace charge.
If you signed up through a mobile app without Admin-console billing options, you may instead manage payment through Google Play or iOS Settings.
Troubleshooting a declined card
Google's Workspace help lists several billing messages, including "Authorization failed: No reason provided by your financial institution," "Invalid credit card details," "Invalid verification code," "Correct this card info or try a different card," and "Transaction declined: invalid payment method." The first message does not reveal the issuer's exact reason. Google identifies these common decline causes:
Card type not accepted
As noted above, Workspace excludes prepaid and virtual credit cards. If you see "Transaction declined: invalid payment method," this may be why. Check with Coinepay support that your card is eligible before trying again.
Insufficient balance or limits
An exhausted card balance or a per-transaction limit will cause a decline. Check your available balance in the Coinepay app, top up if needed, and make sure any per-card spending limit is high enough for the charge, including the separate domain registration fee.
Billing address mismatch
Google lists mismatched billing details as a decline cause. Re-enter your name, address and country so they exactly match your Coinepay account, then retry.
3-D Secure verification
Google attributes some automatic-payment difficulties to required 3-D Secure verification — this is noted for some Indian cards in particular, where Indian debit cards are listed for manual payments rather than automatic billing. Complete any verification step your bank or card issuer presents during checkout.
International or recurring charge restrictions
Google also lists restrictions on online, recurring or international charges, an expired card, or an incorrect card number. Confirm the card details are current and correct. Because only your card issuer can confirm an individual decline, contact Coinepay support if a correct-looking card keeps failing.
To review cards and payment failures later, an administrator with billing privileges can open Admin console → Billing → Payment accounts → View payment methods.
Managing or cancelling your subscription
To cancel, go to Admin console → Billing → Subscriptions, open the subscription and choose Cancel Subscription. On a Flexible Plan, new service charges stop accruing when you cancel, but days already used can still be billed. Cancelling an Annual/Fixed-Term Plan early does not waive the remaining contractual balance, though cancelling during the 14-day trial incurs no Workspace subscription charge. Google says any remaining account credit after cancellation can be requested from support; a general refund of already-used service charges is not confirmed.
A dedicated Google Sites-only paid tier, its own card checkout and its own refund policy are not confirmed — the rules above apply to purchasing Google Workspace, which is what enables the paid Sites experience.

FAQ
Is there a separate price just for Google Sites?
No. Google Sites is part of Google Workspace and is not sold on its own. You pay for a Workspace edition (such as Business Starter, Standard or Plus), and that subscription covers Sites. Check Google's official Workspace pricing page for current prices in your region.
Does Google Workspace accept virtual or prepaid cards?
Google's Workspace payment documentation states it does not accept prepaid cards or virtual credit cards for subscription billing, and it names Visa, Mastercard and American Express for card payments. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets this requirement before you buy.
Why was my card declined at Google Workspace checkout?
Google lists causes such as an exhausted balance or limit, mismatched billing address, failed 3-D Secure verification, restrictions on online or international charges, an expired card, or an unaccepted card type. Only your card issuer can confirm an individual decline.
Will I be charged immediately when I subscribe?
Workspace usually starts with a 14-day trial, and your payment method is normally not charged until the trial ends. However, if you buy a domain during sign-up, its one-year registration charge is billed immediately and separately.
Can I change my billing country after setup?
Normally no. Google accepts Workspace payments in more than 230 countries, but the billing country and currency generally cannot be changed after billing is set up, so choose them carefully during sign-up.
