Fotor Pro unlocks the AI image and design tools, extra credits and premium features on Fotor's paid tiers. If you'd rather keep your subscription on a dedicated card, a Coinepay virtual card gives you an instant card number, expiry date and CVV you can enter at Fotor's checkout. This guide walks through what you need, how to subscribe step by step, and how to troubleshoot a declined payment.
Before you start
A few things make checkout go smoothly:
- A verified Coinepay account. Register and complete identity verification (KYC) first. You can sign up at the Coinepay registration page and manage everything from the dashboard or the iOS and Android apps.
- A funded virtual card. Create a card in the app and confirm it has enough balance to cover the plan plus any issuer currency conversion. Fotor takes subscription payment in advance.
- Your real billing details. Use the name and billing address registered to you. Accurate details help the payment pass address and security checks.
- A Fotor account. You'll create or sign in to one during the flow below.
Fotor lists PayPal and credit/debit cards at website checkout, and names Visa, Mastercard, American Express and JCB. If you're unsure your Coinepay card meets a specific requirement, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you buy.
Understand the Fotor plans
Fotor offers a free Basic tier and paid tiers the help center calls Fotor Pro, Fotor Pro+ and Fotor Max. Each includes a monthly credit allowance: Pro lists 100 credits per month and Pro+ lists 300, while Max offers several allowances (such as 1,000 up to 50,000 credits per month). Annual subscribers receive their credits monthly rather than all at once. Both monthly and yearly billing options are shown.
At the time of writing (October 2026), the official pricing page did not display stable numeric prices for the paid tiers in every market, and a yearly plan's monthly-equivalent figure is not the same as a monthly-billed price. Check fotor.com/pricing for the current price in your region before you confirm.
Step 1: Create or sign in to your Fotor account
Go to Fotor's website and choose Sign up / Sign in. You can register with an email address and password, or through Google, Facebook or Apple. Use your real identity and billing details so they match the card you'll pay with.
Step 2: Choose your plan
Open the pricing page, pick the tier you want (Pro, Pro+ or Max), and select monthly or yearly billing. Select Get Started for that tier. If you have a promo code, there's a field to enter it on the pricing page.
Buying on the Fotor website keeps billing in your Fotor account. If you subscribe through the iOS App Store or Google Play instead, that purchase is billed and managed in the store, not in Fotor's website payment window.
Step 3: Pay with your Coinepay virtual card
- At the payment window, choose to pay by credit/debit card.
- Enter the card number, expiry date and CVV from your Coinepay virtual card.
- Enter the cardholder name and billing address exactly as registered with Coinepay.
- Fotor's payment window has a currency selector. Note that your issuer may still convert the charge into your local currency, so the billed amount can vary with exchange rates.
- If prompted for 3-D Secure, approve the payment in your Coinepay app, then confirm.
After payment succeeds, your plan activates and the premium features and monthly credits become available on your account.
Step 4: Confirm and keep records
To review or change your billing later, go to your avatar → My Account → Subscription → Update your payment method. The Settings menu also links to Payment History, where you can find your charges. Keep a copy of your receipt with your own records.
If your card is declined
Fotor documents bank responses such as "Insufficient_funds" and "do_not_honor" as reasons a subscription can fail, and advises checking your funds and card validity, trying another card, or contacting your issuer. Work through these common causes:
Insufficient balance
Your card needs enough to cover the plan plus any conversion added by your issuer. Top up the card in the Coinepay app, leave a little headroom, and retry.
Billing address mismatch
If the name or address you typed doesn't match the details registered to your card, the charge can be refused. Re-enter them to match your Coinepay profile exactly.
3-D Secure not completed
If a verification step appears and isn't approved in time, the payment fails. Keep the Coinepay app handy, approve the prompt, and complete checkout promptly.
"do_not_honor" or a generic decline
This is an issuer-side refusal. Confirm the card is active and funded, then try again. If it keeps failing, reach out to Coinepay support to check whether anything on the card is blocking the charge.
Merchant region or card-type checks
The official pages reviewed do not establish a country-by-country list of where Fotor checkout or each payment method works, and a currency selector doesn't guarantee a card will be accepted. If a payment is blocked by a region or card-type check you can't resolve, confirm your card details with Coinepay support and consider Fotor's other listed method, PayPal.
Free trial, renewals and cancellation
Fotor's help page describes a seven-day Pro trial for eligible recent registrants; it charges after the trial unless you cancel, and Fotor recommends cancelling at least a day early because a charge can occur hours before the stated end. Make sure your card stays funded if you intend to continue.
Subscriptions renew automatically using the payment method on file. Fotor's current terms (dated September 2026) say to request cancellation at least 24 hours before the current period expires to avoid the next charge; note an older help-center page still mentions seven days, so follow the newer terms. If Fotor can't collect a renewal, it may retry the charge and may suspend or downgrade the account, and cancelling during those retries does not cancel a charge already due.
To cancel on the website: Account Setting → Subscription → Manage Plan → Cancel your subscription → Downgrade to free plan. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. If you subscribed through Google Play or the App Store, cancel in that store's subscription management instead. Fotor's current terms state paid subscription fees are not refundable, and stopping renewal does not itself produce a refund—your access simply continues through the period you paid for.
Managing your Coinepay card
You can view your card's number, balance and transactions anytime in the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app, which are available 24/7. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction. If you have questions about your card before subscribing, reach out through support or Telegram.

Why was my card declined at Fotor checkout?
Fotor documents bank responses like "Insufficient_funds" and "do_not_honor." Common causes are insufficient balance, a billing-address mismatch, an incomplete 3-D Secure step, or a merchant region/card check. Fund the card, match your registered details, approve any verification prompt, then retry.

At the time of writing (October 2026), the official pricing page did not show stable numeric prices for the paid tiers in every market, and a yearly plan's monthly-equivalent figure isn't a monthly price. Check fotor.com/pricing for the current price in your region.
How do I cancel Fotor Pro so I'm not charged again?
On the website go to Account Setting → Subscription → Manage Plan → Cancel your subscription → Downgrade to free plan. Fotor's current terms ask you to cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. If you bought through an app store, cancel in that store instead.
Can I use my Coinepay card for the seven-day Pro trial?
