Airtable is a popular productivity and collaboration platform, and its paid Team and Business plans are billed online with a card. This guide walks through creating a Coinepay virtual card, checking out on Airtable, and fixing the most common reasons a card is declined. It uses Airtable's own plan names, settings locations and error messages so you know exactly where to click.
What you need before you start
- A registered Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) complete. You can create an account and manage everything from the dashboard or the Coinepay app for iOS and Android.
- A Coinepay virtual card with its card number, expiry date and CVV, plus enough balance to cover the first charge. Airtable charges an initial upgrade immediately and then renews automatically.
- Your real billing details (name, address, postcode and country). Use your genuine identity and billing information — do not use fake details or attempt to work around any regional check.
- An Airtable account. Airtable restricts access in regions subject to US sanctions and export controls, and from 19 February 2026 says the service is unavailable to users in or associated with Russia.
Airtable plans and what they cost
At the time of writing (October 2026), Airtable lists four standard tiers — Free, Team, Business and Enterprise Scale — and bills in USD in every country. Always confirm current pricing on Airtable's official pricing page before you buy.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 |
| Team | US$24 per billable collaborator/mo | US$20 per collaborator/mo |
| Business (self-serve) | US$54 per billable collaborator/mo | US$45 per collaborator/mo |
| Enterprise Scale | Sales quote required |
Team bills Commenter-or-higher collaborators, while self-serve Business bills Editor-or-higher collaborators, so the amount shown at checkout depends on how many seats qualify. Approved Non-profit and Education Team discounts are US$12 per billable collaborator per month, and approved Student access is complimentary for 6–24 months. Because Airtable bills in USD, a non-US bank or payment provider handles any currency conversion and may add a foreign-transaction fee — that is set by your provider, not an Airtable local-currency price.
Step 1: Create your Airtable account
Go to airtable.com/signup and register using email, SSO, Google or Apple, then follow the on-screen instructions. A new account's first workspace gets a 14-day Team trial; later Free workspaces under the same account do not receive that trial.
Step 2: Create a Coinepay virtual card
In the Coinepay dashboard or app, open the cards section and create a virtual card. You will instantly see the card number, expiry date and CVV. Top up enough to cover the first charge — remember Airtable multiplies the per-seat price by the number of billable collaborators. If you manage Airtable for a team or business, you can issue a dedicated card and set a custom spending limit so the subscription stays within budget.
Step 3: Upgrade and check out
- Open Account overview → Workspace settings, then select the workspace you want to upgrade.
- Go to Workspace plan → Change plan, select Team or Business, and click Upgrade. (Enterprise Scale requires contacting Sales.)
- When prompted for payment, enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry and CVV, and the billing address exactly as it appears on your Coinepay profile.
- Review the collaborator count and total, then confirm. The initial upgrade is charged immediately, and the plan renews automatically afterward.
To change the card later, open airtable.com/account → Workspace settings → select workspace → Payment details. Self-serve Business admins can also use Admin panel → Billing.
Important: Airtable and 3-D Secure
Airtable's billing help states that cards requiring 3-D Secure are incompatible with its payment processor. Airtable lists major credit cards, debit cards, bank debits, Apple Pay and Google Pay for self-serve payments where available, and notes that ACH is limited to US customers. Specific card networks it accepts are not published.
Because this is a merchant-side requirement, confirm your card details fit before you rely on the subscription. Contact Coinepay support to check your virtual card meets Airtable's payment requirements before you buy. You can also reach the team on Telegram.
Troubleshooting a declined card
Two messages reported by users are “We were unable to upgrade you at this time. Please refresh the page and try again” and “We were unable to charge your card. Please try again using a different payment method.” Neither message proves a specific cause. Airtable points declined-payment users to Stripe's decline codes and recommends contacting your bank or trying another payment method. Work through these checks:
Insufficient balance
Make sure the Coinepay card holds enough to cover the full charge, including every billable collaborator and any conversion or foreign-transaction cost your provider adds. Top up in the app and retry.
Billing address mismatch
Enter the name, address, postcode and country exactly as they appear on your Coinepay profile. A mismatch between the billing address on the card and what you type at checkout is a common decline trigger.
Authentication / 3-D Secure
Airtable says 3-D Secure cards are incompatible with its processor. An Airtable Community user also reported failures with Indian-issued cards in July 2025 attributed to authentication requirements; whether that specific issue persists is not confirmed. If a charge fails at the authentication step, confirm your card's requirements with Coinepay support rather than retrying repeatedly.
Card details and merchant checks
Double-check the number, expiry and CVV for typos. Processor reasons can include an expired card, an incorrect CVC or a generic issuer decline. If one card keeps failing, try an alternative payment method you are entitled to use.
If a payment becomes past due, Airtable emails the workspace owner and retries, then automatically downgrades an unpaid Team or self-serve Business workspace to Free 14 days after the due date. Resolve the card issue within that window to keep your plan.
Cancellations and refunds
To cancel Team, downgrade its workspace to Free in Workspace settings; the downgrade takes effect at the end of the paid billing period. Self-serve Business cancellation uses Admin panel → Billing → Plan details → Downgrade, and Airtable warns this flow deletes the organization and moves its workspaces to Free at the end of the cycle.
Customer-initiated cancellation normally does not refund the unused paid term. Airtable's terms provide an exception for EU or Turkey residents who cancel within 14 days of purchase and preserve refunds required by law. Airtable also offers a courtesy refund for an accidental upgrade or added billable collaborator if you contact it within 7 days of a monthly invoice or 14 days of an annual invoice, after you downgrade or remove the collaborator. If a workspace is downgraded because of regional access restrictions, Airtable says it issues a pro-rata refund of the unused billing period.
Keeping your subscription healthy
Set a reminder before each renewal and keep the Coinepay card funded ahead of the billing date. If you manage several SaaS tools, using a separate Coinepay virtual card per service with its own spending limit makes it easy to track and control what each subscription costs.

FAQ
Which Airtable plans can I pay for with a virtual card?
You can pay for self-serve Team and Business plans with a card at checkout. Enterprise Scale and sales-led Business require contacting Airtable Sales and may use invoice payment options such as PO/ACH, wire or check.
Does Airtable accept cards that need 3-D Secure?
No. Airtable's billing help states that cards requiring 3-D Secure are incompatible with its payment processor. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your virtual card meets Airtable's payment requirements before you buy.
Why was my card declined on Airtable?
Common causes include insufficient balance, a billing address that doesn't match the card, an authentication/3-D Secure requirement, or a typo in the number, expiry or CVV. Airtable points to Stripe decline codes and suggests contacting your bank or trying another method.
In what currency does Airtable charge?
Airtable bills in USD in every country. If your Coinepay card settles in another currency, your payment provider handles conversion and may add a foreign-transaction fee that Airtable does not set.
What happens if my Airtable payment fails?
Airtable emails the workspace owner and retries. An unpaid Team or self-serve Business workspace is automatically downgraded to Free 14 days after the payment becomes past due, so fix the card issue within that window.
