You can send money to Uzbekistan with Coinepay Global Remittance. Before you start, ask the recipient how they want to receive the money and get the details for that method. This guide covers bank deposit, mobile wallet and cash pickup, from preparing the transfer to checking its status.

What you need before sending

Register for a Coinepay account and complete identity verification before making a transfer. You can manage transfers in the Coinepay mobile app or 24/7 self-service dashboard. Have the recipient’s full legal name exactly as it appears on their bank or wallet account, or on the identity document they will use for cash pickup. You may also need to provide the purpose of the transfer and documents supporting the source of funds.

Ask the recipient for details for the payout method they actually use. For a bank deposit, that means their account number and the receiving bank’s instructions, which may include a SWIFT/BIC and a local MFO bank or branch code. For a mobile wallet, you will need the wallet details requested in the app. For cash pickup, confirm that the recipient can visit an available pickup location with valid identification.

Uzbekistan’s local currency is the Uzbekistan sum (UZS). Select the destination and an available receiving currency in Coinepay rather than assuming every payout method delivers the same currency. Check with the recipient if they expect to receive funds in UZS or another currency offered for their chosen method.

Choose a payout method in Uzbekistan

Bank deposit

Use bank deposit when the recipient can receive an international payment into a bank account. Ask them to copy their account number and bank details from their bank’s payment instructions, including the account holder’s legal name. The receiving bank may require its SWIFT/BIC for an international transfer and an MFO code identifying the Uzbek bank or branch. Enter only the fields Coinepay requests for the selected transfer.

Uzbekistan does not have a registered national IBAN format, so do not construct an IBAN from the recipient’s account number. Likewise, an MFO code belongs to a particular bank or branch, not to Uzbekistan as a whole. If the recipient has changed branches or their bank has updated its payment instructions, ask for current details before confirming. The recipient may need to contact their bank to check how an incoming payment will be credited and whether the bank needs any further information.

Mobile wallet

Choose mobile-wallet payout if Coinepay shows an eligible wallet for your transfer to Uzbekistan and the recipient has an account with that provider. Select the wallet displayed in the app, then enter the recipient information requested there, such as their registered name and wallet identifier or phone number. Ask the recipient to verify those details in their wallet account; a phone number alone may not establish that the wallet is registered in their name.

Do not assume a named Uzbek wallet is available for every sending country. For example, NBU describes transfers from Russia through Sberbank Online into its Milliy-app wallet, as well as to NBU UzCard or HUMO cards. That is a corridor-specific arrangement, not confirmation that Coinepay offers Milliy, UzCard or HUMO as payout choices for your transfer. Use only the options shown in Coinepay, and contact Coinepay support if you need help identifying an available wallet route.

Cash pickup

Choose cash pickup if it appears among the available options and the recipient prefers to collect funds in person. Check the pickup instructions and location information shown for your transfer before confirming. Give the recipient their transfer details securely once they are available. At a bank cash-pickup counter in Uzbekistan, a recipient generally needs an identity document and the transfer control code, amount and currency. Their name on the transfer must match their identification; another person should not try to collect it in their place.

Ask the recipient to check the pickup location’s requirements and opening hours before visiting. A location may need to complete its own identification checks, and availability can depend on the particular payout arrangement.

How to send money to Uzbekistan

  1. Sign in and start a transfer. Open the Coinepay app or dashboard and begin a Global Remittance transfer. If you are new to Coinepay, register and complete identity verification first.
  2. Choose the destination and currency. Select Uzbekistan as the destination, enter the amount, and choose from the sending and receiving currencies available for your transfer. Check the currency the recipient will receive.
  3. Select a payout method. Choose an available bank deposit, mobile-wallet or cash-pickup option. The choices shown in the app determine which details you need to enter.
  4. Enter and check recipient details. Use the recipient’s full legal name. For a bank deposit, copy the account number and any requested SWIFT/BIC or MFO code from current bank instructions. For a wallet, use the requested registered wallet details. For cash pickup, check the recipient name particularly carefully against their ID.
  5. Review before confirming. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before you confirm a transfer. Review those, the payout method, the receiving currency and every recipient field. If anything is unclear, stop and ask the recipient or Coinepay support before proceeding.
  6. Confirm and track. Confirm the transfer when the details are correct. Use transfer status tracking in the Coinepay app or dashboard to follow its progress, and share any collection instructions with the recipient through a secure channel.

What the recipient should expect

For bank deposit, the recipient should watch the account identified in the transfer, not a different card or account they also hold. Their bank may ask them to explain the incoming funds or provide supporting documents. For a wallet payout, they should check the wallet selected during setup and complete any requirements imposed by that wallet provider. For cash pickup, they should bring the required identity document and collection details to the designated location.

How a recipient should treat an incoming payment for tax or reporting purposes depends on the purpose of the payment and their circumstances. Bank monitoring or reporting obligations are not necessarily an instruction for every recipient to file a declaration. If the transfer relates to business, employment or another potentially taxable activity, the recipient should ask a qualified local adviser what applies to them.

Troubleshooting a transfer to Uzbekistan

The recipient name or bank details are wrong

Check the transfer status and contact Coinepay support promptly. Provide the transfer reference and the corrected information, but do not assume a confirmed payment can be edited. A mismatch in the name or account number can lead the receiving bank to reject and return a payment. If an MFO code or other bank detail has changed, ask the recipient for updated instructions directly from their bank before you attempt another transfer.

The transfer is under review

Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay may request documents explaining the payment’s purpose or the source of funds. Respond through the channel specified in your account or by support, and make sure the information matches the actual sender, recipient and transaction. Coinepay does not serve sanctioned persons or residents of jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions.

The recipient has not received the money

Look at the transfer status first, then confirm that the recipient is checking the correct bank account, wallet or pickup arrangement. Sending and receiving bank processing, security checks, weekends or public holidays can affect progress. If the status does not explain what is happening, contact support with the transfer reference; avoid sending a replacement payment until you understand the first transfer’s status.

The transfer was returned

A receiving bank or payout provider may decline a transfer because of incorrect details or its own checks, even when the information appears correct. Check the return status and any explanation available in Coinepay, then ask support what action is needed. Verify fresh recipient instructions before making a new transfer. Do not change the named recipient or route the payment through someone else to bypass a check.

FAQ

Does Uzbekistan use IBAN for bank transfers?

Uzbekistan has no registered national IBAN format. Ask the recipient for their account number and the receiving bank’s current instructions, including any SWIFT/BIC or MFO code requested for the transfer.

Can I send to a mobile wallet in Uzbekistan?

Coinepay supports mobile-wallet payouts, but the wallet options for a particular Uzbekistan transfer are the ones shown in the app. Check availability there before asking the recipient for wallet details.

What does the recipient need for cash pickup?

At a bank cash-pickup counter, the recipient generally needs an identity document and the transfer control code, amount and currency. Their name must match the transfer, and they should check the selected location’s instructions.

Where can I see the exchange rate and fees?

Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees in the app before you confirm the transfer. Review the receiving currency and recipient details at the same time.

What should I do if I entered the wrong account number?

Check the transfer status and contact Coinepay support promptly with the transfer reference. Do not assume a confirmed transfer can be changed; incorrect details may cause a return.
