If you live or work in Kuwait and need to support family, pay a supplier or settle a bill in Egypt, Coinepay Global Remittance lets you send a cross-border transfer from your phone or the self-service dashboard. Coinepay supports transfers to Egypt, and the exchange rate and fees are shown clearly before you confirm, so there are no surprises. This guide walks through what you need, the payout methods you can choose, and how to track your transfer.

Before you start: what the sender needs

To send money with Coinepay you need a registered account with completed identity verification (KYC). If you have not signed up yet, create your Coinepay account and finish verification first. You can manage everything from the iOS app, the Android app or the 24/7 dashboard.

Kuwaiti rules require exchange and transfer providers to verify the sender's identity before a cross-border transfer, so keep your Civil ID details current. Every transfer is subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations, and Coinepay may ask for supporting documents such as the purpose of the transfer or the source of funds. Providing these promptly helps avoid delays.

What you need from your recipient in Egypt

Egypt's local currency is the Egyptian pound (EGP). What you collect from your recipient depends on how they want to receive the money:

  • Bank account deposit: the recipient's full legal name exactly as it appears at their bank, and their IBAN. An Egyptian IBAN has 29 characters, beginning with EG, followed by two check digits, a four-digit bank code, a four-digit branch code and a 17-digit account number. For a SWIFT-based transfer you may also need the receiving bank's SWIFT/BIC, and in some cases intermediary-bank details. You generally do not need a separate routing number, IFSC or CLABE for Egypt, because the Egyptian IBAN already carries the bank and branch identifiers.
  • Mobile wallet: the recipient's registered mobile number and full name. Egyptian mobile wallets such as Vodafone Cash, Orange Cash and Qahera Cash can receive funds; to hold a wallet, the recipient needs a valid national ID and a matching mobile number.
  • Cash pickup: the recipient's full legal name exactly as it appears on the government ID they will present, plus any reference number your transfer generates.

Double-check spelling and numbers before you send. A name or account detail that does not match the recipient's records is the most common reason a transfer is delayed or returned.

Choosing a payout method

Bank account deposit

Funds are credited directly to the recipient's Egyptian bank account using their IBAN. This suits recipients who already bank locally and want the money in their account. Confirm the IBAN is complete and the name matches the account holder.

Mobile wallet

Egyptian mobile wallets can receive cross-border funds through participating institutions. If your recipient prefers a wallet, confirm their wallet is active and registered to the mobile number you enter. Local wallet usage can be subject to transaction limits set by the Central Bank of Egypt, so very large amounts may be better sent to a bank account.

Cash pickup

With cash pickup, the recipient collects the money in person at a payout location, presenting a valid government ID that matches the name on the transfer and any reference number. This is useful for recipients without a bank account.

Available payout methods can vary, so open the Coinepay app to see which options are offered for Egypt at the time you send. If a method you need is not shown, contact Coinepay support.

Step-by-step: sending the transfer

  1. Open Coinepay and start a transfer. In the app or dashboard, go to Global Remittance and choose to send money.
  2. Choose the destination and currency. Select Egypt as the destination and the payout currency (typically EGP). Pick your payout method: bank deposit, mobile wallet or cash pickup.
  3. Enter the recipient's details. Add the recipient's full legal name and the payout details for the method you chose — IBAN (and SWIFT/BIC if prompted) for bank deposit, mobile number for a wallet, or name and ID details for cash pickup.
  4. Enter the amount. Type how much you want to send. You can usually enter either the amount to send or the amount the recipient should receive.
  5. Review the exchange rate and fees. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and any fees clearly before you confirm. Check the figures and the recipient's details one more time.
  6. Confirm and pay. Approve the transfer. If Coinepay asks for a purpose of transfer or source-of-funds document, provide it to keep things moving.
  7. Track the status. Every transfer has status tracking. Follow it in the app from submitted through to paid out, and share the receipt with your recipient so they know funds are on the way.

Recipient-side considerations

Egyptian banks apply customer-identification, due-diligence and transaction-monitoring controls, and records can include source-of-funds information. A bank may contact your recipient for information before releasing funds. For mobile wallets, the recipient's wallet must be fully registered and within any applicable limits. For cash pickup, the recipient should bring the same ID name used on the transfer. Encourage your recipient to keep the transfer reference handy.

Troubleshooting

Wrong recipient details

An incorrect name, IBAN or mobile number can cause the receiving bank or wallet provider to reject and return the transfer. If you spot a mistake before payout, open the transfer in Coinepay or contact support right away. If it has already been returned, you can usually resend once the correct details are confirmed.

Compliance review

Transfers may be paused for identity verification or sanctions screening. Coinepay does not serve sanctioned persons or jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions, and all customers and counterparties are screened. If you are asked for documents such as the purpose or source of funds, submit them promptly to clear the review.

Delays

A payout can take longer because of identity checks, required recipient action, payout-agent hours, local currency availability or regulatory steps. Checking the status in the app usually shows where the transfer is.

"Complete" but not received

Sometimes a receiving bank is still processing after the transfer shows as complete. Ask your recipient to check with their bank or wallet provider using the transfer receipt before raising a case with Coinepay.

FAQ

Can I send money to Egypt from Kuwait with Coinepay?

Yes. Coinepay Global Remittance supports transfers to Egypt. You need a verified Coinepay account and your recipient's payout details. The exchange rate and fees are shown in the app before you confirm.

What details do I need for an Egyptian bank deposit?

You need the recipient's full legal name and their IBAN. An Egyptian IBAN has 29 characters starting with EG and includes the bank and branch codes. For SWIFT transfers you may also need the bank's SWIFT/BIC, and sometimes intermediary-bank details.

Which payout methods can my recipient in Egypt use?

Depending on availability at the time you send, you can choose bank account deposit (using the IBAN), a mobile wallet such as Vodafone Cash, Orange Cash or Qahera Cash, or cash pickup. Check the Coinepay app for the options currently offered.

Why is my transfer under review or delayed?

Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Coinepay may ask for documents such as the purpose or source of funds. Delays can also come from incorrect recipient details, bank processing, agent hours or currency availability.

What happens if I enter the wrong recipient details?

Incorrect names or account numbers can cause the receiving bank or wallet to reject and return the transfer. If you notice an error before payout, contact Coinepay support immediately; otherwise you can resend once the correct details are confirmed.
