YouTube channel memberships let you pay monthly for perks from an individual creator. They are separate from YouTube Premium and Music Premium. If a creator offers memberships and the option is available to you, you can select a level under Join and try paying with your Coinepay virtual card. Here is what to check before buying, how checkout works, and what to do if a card payment fails.

What you need before joining

  • An eligible YouTube account and channel: Sign in to YouTube and open a participating creator’s channel or an eligible video. Both the viewer and creator must be in supported locations. You must be at least 18 to buy a membership, or 19 in South Korea and Algeria, and accept YouTube’s Paid Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
  • A Coinepay virtual card: Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Your issued card’s number, expiry date and CVV are available in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard. Check the available card balance and any applicable card settings there before checkout.
  • Your real billing information: Have the billing name, address and postal code associated with your payment information ready. Enter accurate details in Google’s payment form; do not use an invented address or another person’s identity.

Creators choose their own membership levels and perks, so there is no universal “Basic” or “Gold” channel-membership plan. A creator can offer up to six levels, and higher levels include the perks of lower levels. Review the level and monthly price shown for your channel before you buy. At the time of writing (October 2026), YouTube’s published US monthly price points ranged from $0.99 to $499.99, but not every creator offers every price point. Prices can also differ by location, sign-up platform and when a member joined. Check YouTube’s official pricing information and, most importantly, the amount shown at your checkout.

How to pay for a channel membership with your Coinepay card

  1. Sign in and find the creator. Open the creator’s YouTube channel or an eligible video while signed in to the Google account you want to use for the membership.
  2. Select Join. If Join is available, open it to see that creator’s membership levels, prices and perks. Pick the level you want. If you do not see the button, check the availability guidance below rather than assuming a card problem.
  3. Review the recurring charge. Confirm the displayed monthly amount and the payment terms. An active paid membership is charged automatically at the start of each monthly billing cycle; joining is not a one-time purchase.
  4. Enter your card details. Follow YouTube’s payment prompts. If the checkout offers a card-entry option, enter your Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV, along with your real billing details. Payment methods can vary by purchase, so the options visible in your own checkout are the ones to follow.
  5. Complete any verification and select Buy. If Google asks you to verify payment information or complete an authentication step, follow the on-screen instructions. Review the final details, then select Buy. YouTube displays a welcome announcement when the transaction completes.

A card being available to enter does not mean a particular payment will be approved. If a payment option is greyed out, YouTube says it is invalid for that purchase. Do not keep submitting changed or inaccurate billing details to force a transaction through.

If you cannot find Join or complete checkout

The Join button does not appear on every platform or watch page, and channel memberships are not available to every viewer or creator. YouTube also notes that iOS membership purchases remain unavailable in some countries. Try opening the creator’s channel on a desktop browser to check whether Join appears there. Use your actual location and account information; changing those details to evade a regional restriction is not a solution.

If the creator has a membership option but your checkout shows no usable card-entry choice, follow the payment options YouTube presents for that purchase. Coinepay cannot make an unavailable YouTube checkout option appear. If you are unsure whether your card can be used for the payment shown, contact Coinepay support before buying.

Troubleshooting a declined card payment

YouTube documents errors including “Card Declined,” “Correct this card info or try a different card,” “Card Expired,” and “Please verify your card info and try again.” The message may not identify the exact cause. Check the following in order, and avoid repeated attempts until you have addressed a likely issue.

What to checkWhat to do
Available balanceCheck your card’s available balance in Coinepay against the amount displayed at YouTube checkout. If there is not enough available for the charge, resolve that in Coinepay before retrying. Use the checkout amount rather than assuming the price from another country or creator applies.
Card number, expiry and CVVCompare each entry with the current details shown in Coinepay. If YouTube says “Card Expired” or asks you to correct the information, check the expiry and re-enter the details carefully.
Billing address or ZIP codeCheck the billing information in the payment form for spelling and postal-code errors. Use your genuine details and make sure the information you provide is consistent with your payment records.
Authentication or verificationIf a 3-D Secure authentication challenge or another verification prompt appears, complete it through the presented flow. If the prompt fails, times out or never arrives, check the Coinepay app for relevant information and contact support. YouTube may also ask for account or identity verification.
Merchant, region or transaction checksYouTube may reject a payment because of issuer restrictions, an online or international-transaction block, or an option that is not valid for that purchase. Check whether the membership is offered to your account in your actual location. If the card is declined despite correct details and sufficient balance, ask Coinepay support to review the attempted transaction; YouTube support can help with its checkout or account restrictions.

When requesting help, share the error message, approximate attempt time and checkout amount. Do not send your full card number or CVV in a support message. Approval depends on the particular transaction and YouTube’s payment checks.

Manage your membership and future payments

To see your next billing date or manage a channel membership, go to youtube.com/paid_memberships in your browser. To change the card for a Google-billed membership, use the Google Account’s My subscriptions section. Update an expiring card before the next charge and check the membership’s payment details after making a change.

To stop renewal, find the channel at youtube.com/paid_memberships and select Manage membership → Cancel. Further membership charges stop, while perks remain available until the current billing period ends. Cancellation does not refund unused time or a partially elapsed billing period. If paid perks are defective or unavailable, contact YouTube support; report any unauthorized charge. Apple-billed members must request refunds from Apple under Apple’s policy.

If you change levels instead, check the billing information shown for that action. For Google-billed memberships, an upgrade charges an adjusted difference for the remaining days of the billing period, while a downgrade takes effect on the next billing date. Keep enough available for future recurring charges if you intend to stay subscribed.

FAQ

Is a channel membership the same as YouTube Premium?

No. A channel membership is a recurring payment for perks from an individual creator; it is separate from YouTube Premium and Music Premium.

Why can’t I see the Join button?

The creator, your location or the page or platform you are using may not be eligible. Check the creator’s channel on a desktop browser and follow YouTube’s availability rules.

Will my Coinepay card work for every channel membership?

Payment options and approval depend on the specific YouTube checkout. If you are unsure about your card or a decline, contact Coinepay support; YouTube support can help with checkout restrictions.

Where can I cancel or check my next billing date?

Open youtube.com/paid_memberships. To cancel, select the channel’s Manage membership → Cancel option. Perks remain until the current billing period ends.
