TikTok Ads Manager is billed for advertising spend, not through a standard subscription plan. This guide explains how to set up an ad account, check whether your Coinepay virtual card is suitable for the payment options shown to you, and handle common payment errors.

Before you start

You need a TikTok Ads Manager account, accurate business and billing details, and a Coinepay account that has completed identity verification. After verification, you can get your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV in the Coinepay app or 24/7 self-service dashboard. Check the app for your card’s available funds and any applicable card settings before making a payment.

First, confirm that TikTok permits ad-account creation in your country or region. Business Center creation, ad-account creation and available ad-targeting locations can have different regional rules. Use your real identity, business information and billing details; a card cannot override TikTok’s eligibility or regional requirements.

TikTok’s available payment methods depend on your billing region, currency and billing option. For example, its published lists include cards for US-dollar manual payments, bankcards for UK and France manual and automatic payments, and bankcards for Brazil’s BRL manual and automatic payments. Those examples do not establish what your particular account or card can use. Check the choices shown in Ads Manager under Payment → Add Payment Method before relying on a card.

Important card restriction: TikTok says prepaid cards cannot be used for Automatic Payment. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets TikTok’s requirement before you choose that option. Do not assume that a card listed as a possible payment method for your region will be accepted in an individual transaction.

Understand TikTok’s billing options and budget

TikTok identifies three billing options rather than paid subscription tiers:

  • Manual Payment: Add money to your Ads Manager balance before running ads. Ad spend reduces that balance, and delivery stops when the balance runs out.
  • Automatic Payment: TikTok charges your payment method when you reach a billing threshold or your bill date, whichever comes first. It is not available to every advertiser.
  • Monthly Invoicing: An option for eligible businesses. Invoices are generally due 30 days after issue unless otherwise agreed; this guide does not treat it as a card checkout option.

Choose carefully during setup. TikTok permits a move from Manual Payment to Automatic Payment or Monthly Invoicing, and from Automatic Payment to Monthly Invoicing, but not a switch back. Availability still depends on your account.

Your advertising cost depends on the budget you set and the ads you run. At the time of writing (October 2026), TikTok states that a campaign budget must exceed US$50 and an ad-group daily budget must exceed US$20. These are budget thresholds, not subscription prices or a promise about what you will spend. Check TikTok’s official budget guidance and the figures displayed in your account before launching a campaign.

Step 1: Create your Coinepay card and TikTok ad account

  1. Register with Coinepay and complete the required identity verification before using card services. Open the app or dashboard to retrieve your virtual card details when you are ready to add a payment method.
  2. On TikTok Ads Manager, create a login using your email address or phone number, then complete TikTok’s verification step.
  3. Enter your genuine business and ad-account details, followed by the requested billing information. Review the account’s country or region and billing currency before proceeding, because available payment choices depend on them.
  4. Choose an available billing option and payment method, then submit the ad account for approval. Your ads cannot run until TikTok approves the account.

If you manage several TikTok ad accounts for a business, Coinepay lets businesses issue a dedicated virtual card for each ad account and set custom spending limits per card. Keep a record of which card you assign to each account so you can review spending and payment issues without mixing up card details.

Step 2: Pay using the option shown in Ads Manager

For Manual Payment: add a balance

  1. Select Manual Payment during TikTok account creation, if it is offered for your account.
  2. In Ads Manager, go to Tools → Billing → Payment → Add balance.
  3. Enter the amount you want to add. Choose an existing payment method or add your Coinepay virtual card if TikTok offers card payment for your account.
  4. Check the amount and billing details, then select Make Payment. Complete any authentication request presented during checkout. Confirm the resulting balance in Ads Manager before relying on it to fund delivery.

Keep enough available balance for the top-up you are attempting. A successful balance payment funds future ad spend; it does not remove the need to set and monitor your campaign and ad-group budgets.

For Automatic Payment: add a payment method

If Automatic Payment is available and your card meets TikTok’s requirements, open Tools → Settings → Billing → Payment in Ads Manager to add a method or manage saved methods. You can also update, remove or designate a primary payment method there. For a Business Center-owned account, use Finance → Payment management. Enter the card information and your real billing details as requested, and complete any verification TikTok presents.

Automatic Payment is not a one-time top-up: a charge can occur when TikTok reaches the billing threshold or bill date. Monitor both Ads Manager billing and your Coinepay card’s available funds. If you cannot confirm that your card meets TikTok’s Automatic Payment card restriction, ask Coinepay support before setting it up; consider Manual Payment only if it is offered and the card is accepted for that transaction.

Troubleshoot a declined or unverified card

A decline message identifies a problem to investigate, not necessarily its final cause. TikTok documents messages including “Invalid payment method. Please use another payment method”, “Your bank has disapproved this payment”, and “Insufficient funds. Please check your balance or use another payment method.” Work through the relevant checks rather than repeatedly submitting unchanged details.

  • Insufficient available funds: Compare the payment amount with the available funds shown in Coinepay. For Automatic Payment, remember that TikTok may charge at a threshold or on a bill date. Add sufficient funds through the options available in your Coinepay account or choose another permitted payment method.
  • Billing details do not match: Recheck the card number, expiry date, CVV and the real billing information you entered. Correct typos and use billing details consistent with your actual account records. Do not enter a borrowed or invented address to pass a regional check.
  • 3-D Secure or other authentication fails: Complete the verification prompt if one appears. TikTok identifies unsuccessful authentication and incomplete 3-D Secure verification among possible payment-failure reasons. If you cannot complete the step, check the card and any prompts in Coinepay, then contact support for help determining what happened.
  • Merchant region or method check: Review the payment methods displayed for your Ads Manager billing region, currency and billing option. TikTok may reject a method that is unavailable for that combination, and its Automatic Payment prepaid-card restriction still applies. Contact Coinepay support to confirm card eligibility; contact TikTok support about an account-specific method or region restriction.
  • Other authorization problems: TikTok also lists expired cards, incorrect security codes, insufficient available credit and bank authorization issues as possible causes. If your details and funds look correct, save the exact error text and transaction time for support. Do not assume a particular cause without confirmation.

Manage spending or stop future delivery

Review your TikTok budgets, balance or billing activity alongside the card activity shown in Coinepay. To stop future ad delivery, switch off the relevant campaign, ad group or ad on TikTok’s Campaigns page. TikTok says switched-off ads no longer appear or use budget, but turning them off does not cancel an amount you already owe.

If you need to recover an unspent balance, TikTok says good-standing Manual Payment or Automatic Payment accounts can request a refund of the unspent balance, excluding taxes paid. Its refund process closes the ad account and returns funds to the original payment method; TikTok says it may take up to 60 days. For an account outside Business Center, the path is Tools → Account setup → Basic information → More actions → Close Account and Refund. Business Center has a different process and may allow a balance transfer within Business Center; requesting a refund requires closing all associated ad accounts. Check TikTok’s current instructions before closing an account.
