Oura Membership is the recurring subscription for Oura Ring Gen3 and newer. If you want to use a Coinepay virtual card for it, check Oura’s country and payment-method requirements before adding the card. This guide covers account setup, checkout, ongoing billing and what to do if a payment is declined.
Check eligibility and payment requirements first
Oura offers one membership with a monthly plan or an annual plan; these are billing choices, not different feature tiers. Gen2 does not require membership. A Lifetime Membership exists for some recipients of an earlier Gen3 promotion, but it is not currently available to purchase or upgrade to.
Membership activation is limited to Oura-supported shipping or authorized-retail countries. You also need an eligible billing address and payment method. Being able to download the Oura app does not, by itself, establish that you can activate membership in your country. Check Oura’s Supported Countries information and use your real location and billing details; neither a virtual card nor PayPal changes Oura’s country rules.
For recurring membership, Oura lists PayPal and Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover credit cards, with availability varying by country and currency. Its list is narrower in some locations: Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and the UAE list only Maestro, Mastercard and Visa; India lists only Mastercard, RuPay, UPI AutoPay and Visa. Gift cards, financing and buy-now-pay-later cannot pay recurring membership fees. Payment options shown for a ring purchase should not be assumed to apply to membership.
Before you buy: Oura’s recurring-card list specifies credit cards and, in certain countries, particular card brands. Do not assume that a Coinepay virtual card satisfies those requirements. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the applicable requirement, and check Oura’s current membership checkout for the payment methods offered to you.
What you need before subscribing
- An Oura Ring and app setup: a new member’s included first month begins when the ring is paired with the Oura app. An additional ring on an existing account does not create another included month.
- Your own Oura account and billing details: ring setup prompts you to create an account and provide a billing address. Your Oura account email can differ from the email used for the ring order.
- A Coinepay account ready for card use: register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using its card services. Coinepay provides the virtual card number, expiry date and CVV in its app or self-service dashboard.
- Funds for the upcoming charge: review Oura’s checkout total and next payment date, then check your available funds in Coinepay. Leave room for any applicable tax or other amount shown at checkout rather than relying on a published base price.
At the time of writing (October 2026), Oura published US membership prices of USD $5.99 per month or $69.99 per year, before tax. Prices and tax treatment differ by region. Check Oura’s official membership pricing page and your own checkout for the current amount before submitting.
Subscribe during Oura Ring setup
- Set up and pair your ring in the Oura app. Follow the prompts to create or sign in to your Oura account. Use an email you can access for membership notices and receipts.
- Enter your real billing address. Make sure it is eligible for Oura Membership and matches the billing details associated with the payment method you intend to use. Do not substitute an address in another country to get past a regional check.
- Choose monthly or annual billing. Review the displayed price, currency, tax treatment and renewal details. The first included month starts when the ring is paired; Oura charges the saved payment method after that month, then automatically each month or year unless you cancel.
- Add a payment method. If the Oura checkout offers an applicable card option and Coinepay support has confirmed that your card meets Oura’s requirements, retrieve the card number, expiry date and CVV from Coinepay and enter them where Oura requests them. Enter your actual cardholder and billing details.
- Review and submit. Confirm the plan, payment details and any displayed next-charge information before finishing setup. Keep Oura’s confirmation for your records.
If you bought a one-year prepaid Oura Membership with a new ring, or received one through an organization, Oura still asks you to add a payment method. The prepaid year follows the included first month; Oura says the saved method is not charged until that prepaid period ends. Check the dates in your membership settings instead of assuming prepaid membership removes the need for billing details.
Manage payments and avoid an unwanted renewal
In the Oura App → menu → Settings → Account → Manage membership, or in the Membership Hub, you can review your plan, next payment date, payment details, billing address and past invoices. You can also change plans or cancel there. If you replace a card or change your address, review those details before the next payment is due.
Switching between monthly and annual billing takes effect after the current billing period. To change your membership currency, Oura says you must cancel and renew on the next billing date; changing a card alone will not do it.
Under Oura’s terms applicable on October 17, 2026, cancellation stops future charges rather than reversing charges already paid. Canceling during the included month avoids the first membership charge; after a paid period begins, access continues through that period. Oura says there is no partial refund for a canceled annual or prepaid plan after the included month. A possible 14-day full-refund cooling-off period outside the US has additional conditions, including not having logged in, redeemed or started using the service. Check Oura’s current terms for your situation. Returning a ring does not itself cancel membership; cancel it separately if you do not want future charges.
Troubleshoot a declined card or failed payment
A decline does not identify its cause on its own. Members have reported messages including “Unable to process payment method,” “Unable to process payment method, please contact payment method issuer,” and “Max payment attempts limit reached.” These reported messages are not confirmed diagnoses. Record the exact wording and check the following before retrying:
- Insufficient funds: compare the available amount in Coinepay with Oura’s displayed charge, including applicable tax. If the funds are not enough, add funds through the options shown in Coinepay and verify the available amount before trying again.
- Billing-address mismatch: check that the address entered with Oura is your real billing address for the payment method. Oura gives address matching as guidance for order checkout; it is a sensible detail to verify, but not proof of why a membership payment failed.
- 3-D Secure or other verification: if checkout presents an authentication step, complete it rather than repeatedly resubmitting. Oura mentions enabling 3D Secure where needed for a regular credit-card order. That order guidance does not establish that 3-D Secure caused a particular membership decline. Ask Coinepay support about an authentication issue you encounter.
- Merchant country or card checks: confirm that your country, billing address and selected method meet Oura’s membership rules. If Oura requires a particular card type or brand, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets that requirement before another attempt. Do not try a false address or location.
- Repeated attempts: if you see “Max payment attempts limit reached,” stop retrying and contact Oura support about the membership checkout. Coinepay support can help you review the card side of the attempted payment.
If Oura declines an HSA/FSA card despite an apparently sufficient balance, Oura says the provider determines eligibility. That is a separate issue from troubleshooting a Coinepay card. Oura says members may instead pay another way and seek reimbursement using membership invoices, subject to their provider’s rules.

FAQ
Will Oura charge my card as soon as I pair a new ring?
A new member’s included first month starts when the ring is paired. Oura charges the saved payment method after that month unless you cancel before the first charge.
Can I use any Coinepay virtual card for Oura Membership?
Do not assume so. Oura lists specific methods and credit-card requirements for recurring membership, with country variations. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the applicable requirement before you buy.
Where can I update my Oura Membership payment details?
Open Oura App → menu → Settings → Account → Manage membership, or use the Membership Hub to review your payment details and billing address.
Does returning my Oura Ring cancel the membership?
No. Cancel membership separately in the app or Membership Hub if you want to stop future charges.
