You can use a Coinepay virtual card to attempt an online purchase of IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate through JetBrains. This guide covers the account, card and billing details you need, the checkout steps, and what to check if your payment is declined. Card acceptance depends on JetBrains’ checkout requirements and the payment checks applied to your order.
Choose the right IntelliJ IDEA subscription
IntelliJ IDEA is now a single installation with free core features. IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate is the paid subscription that unlocks Ultimate features, and those features have a 30-day trial. On the JetBrains pricing page, select either For Individual Use or For Organizations, then choose monthly or annual billing. All Products Pack is a separate option if you need more than IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate; check your selection before paying.
At the time of writing (October 2026), JetBrains showed a United States annual price of US$719 per user for an organization’s IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate subscription. Its United States individual annual prices were US$199 for the first year, US$159 for the second, and US$119 per year from the third year, conditional on uninterrupted subscription payments. These are not quotes for your order: check the official IntelliJ IDEA pricing page and the final checkout total for your country, billing interval, taxes and any term offered. Annual checkout may offer a one-, two- or three-year upfront term.
What you need before checkout
- A JetBrains Account. You can create one using a supported third-party sign-in or an email address verified with a one-time code. Use an email address you can access; the account associated with the purchase is used to access the license.
- A verified Coinepay account. Register and complete identity verification before using Coinepay card services. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions.
- Your virtual card details. Coinepay provides a card number, expiry date and CVV. Find them in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard when you are ready to check out.
- Enough available funds for the final total. Allow for the amount shown at checkout, including any applicable taxes. Check the app for the balance and any card-specific limits rather than relying on a price displayed earlier in the buying process.
- Your real billing information. Have your actual name, billing address and any applicable business or tax details ready. Enter them consistently with your payment and account records.
JetBrains lists online payment by credit card, debit card or PayPal and names American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, Mastercard and Visa as accepted card networks. A card payment requires an expiry date and security code. Do not assume a particular Coinepay card is eligible: check its details in the app or contact Coinepay support if you need to confirm whether it meets the checkout requirements before buying.
How to pay for IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate
- Set up Coinepay. Register for Coinepay if you have not already, complete identity verification, and open your virtual card in the iOS app, Android app or self-service dashboard. Confirm its available funds and the card details you will enter.
- Open JetBrains’ IntelliJ IDEA pricing page. Choose IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate, not All Products Pack unless you intend to buy that separate product. Select For Individual Use or For Organizations and the billing interval that fits your needs, then select Buy.
- Sign in or create your JetBrains Account. If registering with email, complete the one-time-code verification. Keep track of the email associated with the order so you can find and manage the subscription later.
- Review the order. Check the product, number of users if applicable, billing period, any upfront term, billing country, taxes and final amount. JetBrains identifies the contracting entity above Place Order. If something is wrong, correct it before submitting payment.
- Enter your payment and billing details. Choose the card option shown at checkout and enter the Coinepay card number, expiry and CVV. Supply your real billing name and address. Follow any authentication prompt presented during payment rather than closing the checkout window.
- Place and verify the order. Select Place Order only after reviewing the total. If the payment completes, check the order confirmation and your JetBrains Account for the subscription. If it fails, avoid repeatedly submitting the same unchanged details; work through the checks below.
Availability and payment approval can depend on your location and JetBrains’ policies. JetBrains says its sales in Russia and Belarus are suspended and restricts transactions involving sanctioned persons or embargoed destinations. Use your real location and billing information; do not try to bypass regional or payment checks.
If your card is declined
JetBrains describes several possible causes of a rejected card, rather than a fixed set of checkout error messages. Start with the reason, if any, shown by checkout or in your Coinepay account. Then check the following:
- Insufficient funds or a spending limit: Compare your available balance and any applicable card limit with the final order total, including tax. If you are buying an annual or multi-year term, make sure you are checking the upfront amount, not an estimated monthly equivalent. Consult the Coinepay app or support for card-specific limits.
- Billing-address mismatch: Recheck your name, address and postal code against your real billing records. Correct typing mistakes; do not substitute an address from another country to try to pass a check.
- 3-D Secure authentication failure: If an authentication step appears, complete it as instructed and do not dismiss it prematurely. If the prompt fails or never completes, contact Coinepay support with the time and amount of the attempt so they can help you investigate the card-side result.
- Card details or international-payment checks: Check the expiry date and CVV you entered. JetBrains also lists expired cards and blocked international transactions as possible causes. Ask Coinepay support to review the attempt if your details appear correct.
- Merchant region or location checks: JetBrains lists location-related issues and sanctions restrictions among possible causes. Confirm that your country and billing information are accurate and that the purchase is available to you. Do not use a VPN or altered details to get around a restriction. If the rejection remains unclear, ask JetBrains Sales about its checkout decision and Coinepay support about the card attempt.
When requesting help, share the order time, amount, country and any message you actually saw. Do not send your full card number or CVV in a support message.
Manage renewal, cancellation and refunds
After a personal purchase, manage automatic renewal from the subscription in JetBrains Account. Saved methods used for renewals are under Payment Methods. To stop a personal subscription, open it in JetBrains Account and select Cancel subscription. JetBrains says access continues through the paid billing period; cancellation stops renewal but does not itself produce a refund.
For an organization, subscription billing is managed in JetBrains Central Console → Billing → Subscription packs. Look under Billing → Transactions and invoices for transaction and invoice records. If a card payment is unsuitable for an organization purchase, JetBrains also describes purchase orders and arranged wire-transfer invoicing as purchasing options.
For refund requests, JetBrains says to contact its Sales team with an order or invoice reference within 7 days of a monthly purchase or 30 days of an annual purchase; approval is discretionary. Its purchase terms also specify a 14-day withdrawal right for an “Individual Consumer,” and applicable mandatory consumer rights may differ from the discretionary refund process. Review the terms relevant to your purchase if you need to request a refund or exercise a withdrawal right.

FAQ
Do I need to buy IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate to use IntelliJ IDEA?
No. The single IntelliJ IDEA installation includes free core features. Ultimate features require a paid IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate subscription after the 30-day trial.
Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for an individual JetBrains subscription?
You can enter its details at card checkout, but acceptance is not assured. Check the card details in Coinepay and contact support if you need to confirm its eligibility before buying.
What should I do if JetBrains declines my card?
Check the final total against your available funds and limits, verify your real billing details, and complete any authentication prompt. Ask Coinepay about the card attempt or JetBrains Sales about a checkout restriction.
Where can I turn off renewal for a personal subscription?
Open the subscription in JetBrains Account to manage automatic renewal. To stop the subscription, select Cancel subscription; access continues through the paid period, and cancellation alone does not issue a refund.
