Coinepay Global Remittance supports transfers to Ireland. Before you start, ask the recipient how they want to receive the money and collect the details for that method. Ireland uses the euro (EUR), and the Coinepay app shows the exchange rate and fees before you confirm a transfer.
What you need before sending
Register for Coinepay and complete identity verification before starting a transfer. You can manage the transfer through the Coinepay mobile app or self-service dashboard. If you have not registered, you can create an account.
Have the recipient’s full legal name ready. It should match the name on their bank account or the identification they will use to collect a cash payment. You will also need the payout details requested for the method you select. Ask the recipient to copy these from their bank or receiving provider rather than typing them from memory.
- For a bank deposit: Ask for the recipient’s IBAN and, if the transfer form requests it, their bank’s SWIFT/BIC. Depending on the route, you may also be asked for a bank name, local bank code or other account information.
- For a cash pickup: Confirm the recipient’s legal name and where they can collect the payment. The available pickup option and required fields are shown during setup.
- For an app or account balance: Ask the recipient for the receiving details displayed by that provider for the relevant currency and transfer route. Do not assume a username or email address is enough for a bank-style transfer.
Coinepay may request information about the transfer’s purpose or source of funds. Both sender and recipient details must be accurate: transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and applicable local regulations.
Choose a payout method for Ireland
Coinepay supports bank deposit, mobile-wallet and cash-pickup payouts across its remittance service. Check the options displayed for Ireland in your transfer before asking the recipient to rely on a particular method. A receiving app account is not necessarily the same thing as a dedicated mobile-wallet payout.
| Method | What the recipient needs | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Bank deposit | An account that can receive the selected transfer, plus their correct account holder name and IBAN. Provide the SWIFT/BIC or other bank details if requested. | Check the bank’s receiving instructions for the currency and route shown in Coinepay. |
| App or account balance | Receiving details supplied by their provider. Irish residents may use services such as Revolut or Wise EUR account details for eligible incoming transfers; PayPal also offers account-based receipt subject to its supported routes. | Only select an option Coinepay actually displays. For a transfer to Revolut or Wise account details, follow the provider’s bank-transfer instructions. Do not enter a PayPal address into an IBAN field. |
| Mobile wallet | The wallet details requested in the transfer form, if a mobile-wallet payout option appears for Ireland. | Confirm the particular wallet and route are offered before proceeding; do not assume a mobile-operator wallet payout is available. |
| Cash pickup | The recipient’s matching identification and the collection information supplied after the transfer is arranged, such as a transfer reference. | Confirm the pickup location, its requirements and the instructions shown for your transfer. Cash pickup exists in Ireland, but do not assume a particular agent network handles a Coinepay transfer. |
Irish bank details: IBAN, BIC and local codes
A standard Irish IBAN begins with IE and has 22 characters. It incorporates a bank identifier, the six-digit National Sort Code (NSC) and an eight-digit account number. Use the recipient’s actual IBAN as supplied by their bank; do not try to construct one from domestic account details.
A SWIFT/BIC identifies the bank and is generally 8 or 11 characters. Some euro payments do not require the sender to enter a BIC separately, but an incoming international payment may require both IBAN and SWIFT/BIC. Follow the fields Coinepay shows for the selected route and ask the recipient’s bank if anything is unclear. An NSC and account number are domestic Irish details, not replacements for an IBAN when the form requests one. IFSC, CLABE and US routing numbers are not Irish account identifiers.
How to send money to Ireland step by step
- Sign in and start a transfer. Open Global Remittance in the Coinepay app or dashboard. Make sure your account information and identity verification are up to date.
- Select Ireland and the currency. Choose Ireland as the destination, then select the currency offered for your transfer. EUR is Ireland’s local currency. Check what the recipient expects to receive before continuing.
- Choose the payout method. Pick an Ireland option displayed in the transfer flow. Enter the recipient’s full legal name and the bank, wallet or pickup details requested. For a bank deposit, compare the IBAN character by character with the recipient’s own account details.
- Review the transfer. Check the recipient, payout route, currency and amount. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before confirmation. Read the displayed payout information as well, especially if the recipient expects a specific amount in EUR.
- Confirm and track. Confirm only when the details are correct. Save the transfer reference and follow its status in the Coinepay app or dashboard. If more information is requested, respond through the appropriate support or account channel.
What the recipient should expect
For a bank deposit, the recipient should check the account associated with the IBAN they gave you, including any incoming-payment notices from their bank. If they use Revolut or Wise account details, they should check that provider’s instructions for receiving the chosen currency and route. A receiving provider may reject a route or currency it does not support.
For cash pickup, tell the recipient to wait for the collection instructions associated with the transfer. They should bring acceptable identification showing the same legal name entered on the transfer, along with any reference or other information specified in those instructions. Requirements can vary by pickup provider and location.
An Irish receiving provider may request information about an incoming payment as part of its checks. The recipient should keep records showing what the money represents. Tax treatment depends on its purpose: for example, income and gifts can have different Irish tax implications. If the recipient is unsure about a reporting or tax obligation, they should seek advice appropriate to their circumstances.
Troubleshooting an Ireland transfer
- Wrong recipient details: If you notice a misspelled name, incorrect IBAN or other error, check the transfer status and contact Coinepay support promptly with the reference. Do not assume a confirmed transfer can be edited or recalled. If a new transfer is needed, obtain corrected details directly from the recipient first.
- Compliance review: A transfer may require additional identity, purpose-of-payment or source-of-funds documents. Give accurate information through the requested channel. Coinepay screens customers and counterparties against sanctions lists and cannot serve sanctioned persons or residents of jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions.
- Recipient has not received it: Check the tracked status before sending again. Ask the recipient to check the correct bank account or provider balance and any message from their receiving institution. Bank processing schedules, missing information and receiving-provider reviews can affect progress. Give support the transfer reference if the status needs investigation.
- Transfer returned or rejected: Check whether the name and account details matched, and whether the receiving provider supports the currency, originating country and route used. Review any return reason shown in the transfer status and ask support what to do next. Correct the underlying issue before attempting another transfer.
When in doubt, use the details displayed for your specific transfer rather than assuming that all Irish accounts or payout providers accept the same route.
