You can send money to France with Coinepay Global Remittance. Before you start, ask your recipient how they want to receive the money and collect the details for that payout method. France uses the euro (EUR). In the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard, you can review the exchange rate and fees before confirming, then track the transfer’s status.

What you need before sending

Register for Coinepay and complete identity verification before using the service. You will need the recipient’s full legal name as it appears on their bank account or identification document, plus the details for your chosen payout method. Use your own real identity and provide accurate information about the payment. Coinepay may request documents about the transfer’s purpose or the source of funds.

If you are sending to a French bank account, ask the recipient for their IBAN rather than trying to reconstruct it from a domestic account number. A French IBAN begins with FR and has 27 characters. It incorporates the bank code, branch code (called the code guichet), account number and RIB check digits. A French bank statement or relevé d’identité bancaire (RIB) can help the recipient find and verify these details.

Depending on the transfer route and the fields shown, you may also need the recipient’s address, the bank’s SWIFT/BIC and the bank’s address. A BIC has 8 or 11 characters. For a euro SEPA bank transfer, the account holder’s name and IBAN are normally the key receiving details; a non-SEPA international transfer may require more. Ask the recipient or their bank to confirm any additional details requested in the Coinepay form. Do not substitute a US routing number, IFSC or CLABE for a French IBAN.

Choose a payout method for France

Coinepay supports transfers to France and offers bank deposit, mobile wallet and cash pickup as payout method categories. Check the methods displayed for your specific France transfer before collecting recipient details: the available option and required fields depend on the route. Do not assume that an account or wallet used for other payments can receive a Coinepay remittance.

Bank-account deposit

For a deposit into a French bank account, enter the recipient’s full legal account-holder name and IBAN exactly as provided. Supply the SWIFT/BIC, recipient address or bank address if the form asks for them. The name and IBAN should match the receiving bank’s records; French banks check name–IBAN correspondence for SEPA transfers. Ask the recipient to verify the IBAN directly from their banking details before you confirm. If the recipient gives you a RIB, use it to check the IBAN and any bank or branch codes requested rather than entering those codes in the wrong fields.

Mobile wallet

If a mobile-wallet payout appears for your France transfer, select it and follow the app’s instructions for the supported wallet and its recipient details. The recipient may need an eligible wallet account registered under their real name and the mobile number or other identifier requested on screen. No particular French mobile-wallet operator is confirmed as a Coinepay payout option. PayPal can receive payments into a PayPal account using an email address or mobile number, but that does not establish PayPal as a Coinepay remittance payout method. Only choose a wallet that Coinepay explicitly displays for your transfer; otherwise, consider bank deposit or an available cash-pickup option.

Cash pickup

If cash pickup is offered for the route you select, enter the recipient’s legal name exactly as shown on the identification they will present. Check the pickup instructions before confirming, including where the recipient can collect the money and what they must bring. Cash-pickup services commonly require valid identification and a transfer reference or tracking number. Share the collection instructions and reference privately with the intended recipient, and have them follow the requirements for the specific pickup location. Do not send someone else to collect on their behalf unless the displayed service instructions expressly allow it.

How to send money to France step by step

  1. Sign in to a verified account. Open the Coinepay mobile app or 24/7 self-service dashboard. If you are new, register for Coinepay and complete the identity-verification steps shown before starting a transfer.
  2. Start a Global Remittance transfer. Choose France as the destination and select the destination currency shown for the payout. France’s local currency is EUR; check the currency in the transfer summary so the recipient knows what they are expected to receive.
  3. Select a payout method and enter recipient details. Choose from the options displayed for your transfer. Enter the recipient’s full legal name and the bank, wallet or cash-pickup information requested. For bank deposit, check every character of the French IBAN and any requested SWIFT/BIC. For cash pickup, check the name against the recipient’s ID.
  4. Review the transfer before confirming. Check the amount, recipient details, payout method and currency. Coinepay shows the exchange rate and fees before you confirm. Review the displayed information rather than relying on an earlier quote, and correct any mistakes before proceeding.
  5. Confirm and track it. Submit the transfer only after the information is correct. Use the status tracking in the app or dashboard to follow its progress. Keep the transfer reference handy if you or the recipient needs help.

What the recipient should expect

For bank deposit, the recipient should check the account associated with the IBAN they supplied and look for any message from their bank about a pending or rejected incoming payment. Their bank may ask them to explain the payment or provide supporting documents. For mobile-wallet payout, the recipient should follow the instructions for the wallet actually offered in the transfer. For cash pickup, they should wait for the applicable collection instructions and bring the required identification and reference.

The purpose of the money matters to the recipient independently of how it arrives. For a French tax resident, a transfer is not automatically taxable income merely because it came from abroad. Taxable foreign-source income may need to be declared, potentially using form 2047, while a reportable gift may require a gift declaration by the recipient. Covered gift declarations generally must be filed online from January 2026, subject to exceptions. A French tax resident who holds or uses an account abroad may also have a separate foreign-account reporting obligation under form 3916/3916-bis; that is not a declaration required for every incoming transfer to a French account. The French customs declaration rule for physically carrying cash across a border is not a rule for declaring each electronic transfer. For advice on a particular payment, the recipient should consult a qualified local adviser.

Troubleshooting a transfer to France

  • Wrong recipient details: If you notice an incorrect name, IBAN, BIC or pickup detail after confirming, check the transfer status and contact Coinepay support promptly with the reference. Do not assume a submitted transfer can be edited or recalled. An incorrect name or account number can result in rejection or return.
  • Compliance review: Transfers are subject to identity verification, sanctions screening and local regulations. Respond through the requested channel if Coinepay asks for information about the recipient, purpose of payment or source of funds. Do not send through another person or divide a payment to avoid checks.
  • A transfer appears delayed: Look at its status first and check whether Coinepay has requested information. Processing can also be affected by the receiving bank, its checks, weekends or holidays. Ask the recipient to check with their bank if the transfer appears to have reached it; give Coinepay support the reference if you need help tracing it.
  • A transfer is returned: Check the status and ask support for the available return information. The receiving bank may reject a payment even if the submitted details appear correct; the recipient can ask their bank for the reason. Verify all recipient details and the payout option before attempting another transfer.

Coinepay does not serve sanctioned persons or residents of jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions. Both customers and counterparties are screened. If you are unsure whether a recipient, location or payout arrangement is eligible, ask Coinepay support before sending.
