YouTube Music Premium removes ads, adds background play and lets you download tracks for offline listening. If you prefer to keep your subscription spending on a dedicated card, a Coinepay virtual card gives you an instant card number, expiry date and CVV you can enter at checkout. This guide walks through what you need, how the YouTube Music sign-up and billing flow works, and what to do if your card is declined.

Before you start

To subscribe with a Coinepay virtual card, make sure you have the following ready:

  • A verified Coinepay account. You must register and complete identity (KYC) verification before you can use card services. Card issuance is provided by licensed partner financial institutions.
  • A Coinepay virtual card created in the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app (iOS / Google Play), with enough balance to cover the first charge and any temporary authorization hold.
  • A Google Account signed in to the YouTube Music app or website.
  • Your real billing details — name, address and postcode/ZIP — exactly as they appear on your Coinepay account.

YouTube Music Premium is available only in YouTube's listed territories. Some countries require a locally issued payment method (for example, Canada and India list this requirement), and misrepresenting your subscription country — for instance with a VPN — may lead to cancellation. Use your real location and billing details.

Choose the right plan

The paid service is officially named YouTube Music Premium. Plan types include Individual Monthly, Annual (prepaid individual), Family, Two-person and Student, with availability differing by country. Note that YouTube Premium already includes Music Premium, while YouTube Premium Lite does not.

At the time of writing (October 2026), reported direct-web U.S. prices were around Individual $11.99/month, Annual $119.99, Family $18.99/month and Student $5.99/month, and UK Individual around £10.99/month — but these figures were unconfirmed against live checkout and prices change. A signed-in checkout may show a different price, tax or billing provider. Always confirm the current amount on YouTube's official pricing page at youtube.com/musicpremium before you buy.

Create your Coinepay virtual card

  1. Sign in to the Coinepay app or dashboard and open the card section.
  2. Create a virtual card. The card number, expiry date and CVV are issued instantly.
  3. Add or confirm funds so the balance covers the recurring charge. A trial can place an authorization hold, and sign-up may fail if funds are insufficient.
  4. Keep the card details handy for checkout.

Subscribe to YouTube Music Premium step by step

The entry point depends on the plan. For an individual membership:

  1. Open the YouTube Music app or go to youtube.com/musicpremium/inapp and sign in to the Google Account you want to subscribe.
  2. Select your profile picture, then choose an eligible trial or Get Music Premium.
  3. When prompted for payment, choose to add a payment method and enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV.
  4. Enter the billing address and postcode/ZIP that match your Coinepay account.
  5. Review the plan and price, then confirm the purchase. A valid accepted payment method is required even for a free trial, and a trial becomes paid unless you cancel before it ends.

Student: use youtube.com/musicpremium/student/inapp, select Get Premium, complete SheerID verification, choose or add your payment method, then select Buy.

Annual: use youtube.com/musicpremium/annual/inapp, select Get annual plan, enter payment details and complete the purchase. The annual plan does not renew automatically and is nonrefundable.

Family: the manager purchases the plan (covering up to five additional people at the same residential address) and invites members using their own Google Accounts.

Two-person: select the plan, sign in, confirm your billing information and select Subscribe; both users must share a household.

A note on who bills you

YouTube can bill directly, but purchases made through an app store use that provider's billing instead. New Android sign-ups have used Google Play billing since 2022, and Apple-billed purchases follow Apple's process. To pay YouTube directly with your Coinepay card, subscribe through the web checkout or an account not tied to a store subscription. For YouTube-billed U.S. purchases the published card options are American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Visa, plus PayPal and Cash App; accepted methods vary by country. If a region restricts you to a locally issued card, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets this requirement before you buy.

Manage your membership and receipts

Billing settings live at youtube.com/paid_memberships. Select Manage membership to see your payment method, backup method, next billing date and price. Receipts appear under Activity at payments.google.com. To cancel a directly billed monthly plan, go to Manage membership → Deactivate and follow the confirmation steps; access ordinarily lasts until the end of the billing period, with no refund for the unused remainder. If you subscribed through Google Play or Apple, cancel through that provider instead.

Troubleshooting: card declined

YouTube documents messages such as "Card Declined," "Correct this card info or try a different card," "Card Expired" and "Please verify your card info and try again." Your billing page may also show "Current payment method could not be processed." Work through these checks:

CauseWhat to do
Insufficient balanceTop up your Coinepay card. Remember a trial or renewal may place a temporary authorization hold that needs available funds.
Billing-address or ZIP mismatchMake sure the address and postcode/ZIP at checkout exactly match your Coinepay account details.
Expiry or card info errorRe-check the card number, expiry date and CVV from your Coinepay app for typos.
3-D Secure / identity verificationApprove any verification prompt from Coinepay. Watch for confirmation requests in the app.
Issuer or international restrictionOutside the U.S., the card must support international and online transactions. Check your card controls in Coinepay.
Merchant region checkSome countries require a locally issued payment method, and Music Premium is unavailable in some territories. Confirm your region is supported.

If a monthly payment fails, YouTube emails you, retries for about three days, then may place the subscription in a 30-day paused state while continuing to retry. A reported debit alone is not proof of an active membership, so confirm your status at youtube.com/paid_memberships rather than relying on a pending charge.

If your Coinepay card still will not go through after these checks, reach out through the Coinepay support center or Telegram to confirm your card is enabled for online international payments. For issues with the subscription itself, use YouTube's own help channels.

Quick recap

Verify your Coinepay account, create and fund a virtual card, pick the right YouTube Music Premium plan, and complete checkout with matching real billing details. Keep an eye on renewal dates in your billing settings, and use the troubleshooting table above if a payment is declined.

FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for YouTube Music Premium?

You can enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV at YouTube's checkout like any other card. Accepted payment methods vary by country, and some regions require a locally issued card. Whether a specific merchant accepts a given card is never guaranteed, so contact Coinepay support if you need to confirm your card is enabled for online international payments.

Do I need to pay for a free trial?

Yes. YouTube requires a valid accepted payment method even for a trial, and a trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. Make sure your Coinepay card has enough balance to cover any authorization hold.

Why was my card declined at checkout?

Common causes are insufficient balance, a billing-address or ZIP mismatch, an expired card or typo, a pending 3-D Secure verification, or regional restrictions. Check each item against your Coinepay app, and confirm your card supports online international transactions.

How much does YouTube Music Premium cost?

Prices vary by region and plan and change over time. Reported figures in this guide were unconfirmed against live checkout, so always verify the current price on YouTube's official page at youtube.com/musicpremium before subscribing.

How do I cancel and will I get a refund?

For a directly billed monthly plan, go to youtube.com/paid_memberships, select Manage membership, then Deactivate. Access usually lasts until the billing period ends with no refund for the remainder. Annual plans are nonrefundable, and store-billed subscriptions are cancelled through Google Play or Apple.
