Windsurf is the AI coding editor from Cognition, which announced in June 2026 that the editor is now called Devin Desktop while existing plans and prices carry over. If you want to pay for a paid Windsurf plan with a Coinepay virtual card, this guide walks through what you need, how the sign-up and checkout flow works, and what to try if your card is declined.

What you need before you start

Checkout for an AI developer subscription goes smoothly when your details are ready in advance. Gather the following:

  • A verified Coinepay account. You must register and complete identity verification (KYC) before you can use card services.
  • A Coinepay virtual card. Once issued, you can see the card number, expiry date and CVV in the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app (iOS / Google Play).
  • Enough balance on the card to cover the plan plus any applicable tax. Confirm your current balance in the Coinepay app.
  • Your real billing details — name and billing address — exactly as they appear on your Coinepay account. Windsurf's payment processor checks these.
  • Access to your phone, in case your bank or the processor asks for a one-time passcode (3-D Secure).

Windsurf plans and pricing

At the time of writing (October 2026), the official plan names on the pricing page are Free, Pro, Max, Teams and Enterprise. The US-dollar prices listed were Free $0; Pro $20/month; Max $200/month; and Teams $80/month for the team plan plus $40/month per full developer seat. Enterprise is quoted through the sales team.

Prices can vary by region and change over time, and country-specific checkout totals and tax were not something we could verify here. Always confirm the current price for your market on Windsurf's official pricing page (devin.ai/pricing) before you pay. Older figures such as a $15 Pro plan are historical or grandfathered for qualifying existing subscribers, not current new-customer list prices.

Step-by-step: subscribe to Windsurf with your Coinepay card

  1. Create your Coinepay card. Log in to Coinepay, finish KYC if you have not already, and issue a virtual card. Note the card number, expiry and CVV, and top up enough balance.
  2. Create or sign in to your Windsurf account. New users can sign up at app.devin.ai using GitHub, Google, ChatGPT or an email address. The sign-up page itself does not ask for payment, so you can create the account first.
  3. Choose your plan. On the pricing page, the paid-plan Select plan buttons take you into app.devin.ai. Pro, Max and Teams are self-serve upgrades you can complete yourself; Enterprise routes you to sales.
  4. Open the plan settings. After signing in, go to app.devin.ai/settings/plans. This is where plan information, invoices and receipts live.
  5. Enter your card at checkout. Payment is handled through Stripe. When prompted, choose to pay by card and enter your Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV. Windsurf's accepted methods include major credit cards as well as Apple Pay, Cash App Pay, Google Pay, Link, WeChat Pay and Alipay.
  6. Enter matching billing details. Type the billing name and address that match your Coinepay account. A mismatch is a common reason a payment is rejected.
  7. Complete any verification. If a one-time passcode or 3-D Secure confirmation appears, approve it to finish the charge.
  8. Confirm and keep your receipt. After the payment succeeds, the plan activates on your account. You can view invoices and receipts back on the plans page.

To change your saved card later, open Update Payment on the plans page — it opens the Stripe customer portal, where you can update the payment method, billing details, address or tax ID.

A note on card acceptance

Windsurf's documentation lists only "major credit cards" among accepted methods. It does not publish which specific card networks it accepts, nor whether debit, prepaid or virtual cards are accepted by network or country — those details are not confirmed. Some users have reported that certain cards failed and that a retry succeeded only after bank verification, while others reported debit cards not being accepted. Because Windsurf does not spell out the exact requirement, we cannot claim your Coinepay card will be accepted at a given checkout. If you want to check your card details before you buy, contact Coinepay support.

Troubleshooting: common card-declined causes

If your payment does not go through, work through these in order. The specific wording Windsurf shows at checkout is not documented, so match the symptom rather than an exact message.

Insufficient balance

Check your Coinepay card balance in the app and make sure it covers the plan price plus any tax added at checkout. Top up and try again. Remember that paid subscriptions renew automatically, so keep enough balance available before each renewal date.

Billing address mismatch

The payment processor compares the billing name and address you type against your card records. Re-enter them to match your Coinepay account exactly, including country and postal code, then retry.

3-D Secure / one-time passcode

If you are asked to confirm the payment with a code or an in-app approval, complete it promptly. A user reported that an Indian card checkout succeeded only after bank OTP verification, so do not close the window until the step finishes.

Merchant region checks

Windsurf shows an "Access unavailable in your region" notice in restricted locations, and its terms prohibit access that violates applicable US export restrictions. A definitive country-by-country list is not published. Use Windsurf only where it is available to you, with your real location and details. The documentation also warns that using a VPN may affect which regional payment methods appear — so do not rely on one to change what you see. If you believe the service is available in your region but checkout still blocks you, reach out to Windsurf support.

Failed renewal or unpaid invoice

Some users reported a failed-payment email followed by a downgrade, after which updating the saved card was awkward. If this happens, open app.devin.ai/settings/plans, use Update Payment to fix the card in the Stripe portal, and settle any outstanding invoice manually from the invoices list.

Managing, cancelling and refunds

An individual can cancel at app.devin.ai/settings/plans. Paid features remain until the end of the current billing period, after which the account moves to Free. Only a Teams admin can cancel a Teams plan. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Payments are generally non-refundable except where the terms expressly provide otherwise or the law requires it. The documentation notes that a customer who changes their mind may request a refund before using a new subscription, but it does not state that every request is approved. Check Windsurf's current terms and documentation for the details that apply to your purchase.

Using Coinepay for your software subscriptions

Coinepay virtual cards are designed for paying for AI subscriptions, software, advertising and online shopping, all managed from a 24/7 self-service dashboard and mobile app. If you run several tools, you can create separate cards and track spending per card. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction. If you have any questions about your card before paying for Windsurf, contact Coinepay support or reach the team on Telegram.

FAQ

Which Windsurf plan should I pick?

At the time of writing (October 2026) the paid options are Pro ($20/month), Max ($200/month) and Teams ($80/month plus $40/month per developer seat), with Enterprise quoted through sales. Prices vary by region and change over time, so confirm the current figure on Windsurf's official pricing page before you pay.

Will my Coinepay virtual card be accepted by Windsurf?

Windsurf lists only "major credit cards" and does not publish which networks or whether prepaid or virtual cards work. We cannot guarantee acceptance at a given checkout. To check your card details beforehand, contact Coinepay support.

Where do I enter or update my card for Windsurf?

After signing in, go to app.devin.ai/settings/plans. Payment runs through Stripe. Use the Update Payment option there to open the Stripe customer portal and change your card, billing details, address or tax ID.

Why was my card declined at Windsurf checkout?

Common causes are insufficient balance, a billing address that does not match your card, an unfinished 3-D Secure or OTP step, or a merchant region check. Fix each in turn and retry; top up your Coinepay balance and make sure your billing details match your account exactly.

Can I get a refund if I cancel Windsurf?

You can cancel at app.devin.ai/settings/plans; paid features stay until the billing period ends, then the account moves to Free. Payments are generally non-refundable except where the terms or law provide otherwise. Review Windsurf's current terms for the details that apply to you.
