Citrix ShareFile is a cloud storage and secure file-sharing service aimed at businesses that need to move sensitive documents safely. If you want to pay for a ShareFile subscription with a Coinepay virtual card, this guide walks through what you need, the exact sign-up and checkout flow, and what to try if a card charge is declined.

ShareFile takes a credit card at checkout and for paying invoices. The subscription instructions describe the payment method simply as "credit card" and do not list which networks or card types are accepted, so if you are unsure whether your card qualifies, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you buy.

Before you start: what you need

  • A verified Coinepay account. Register at the Coinepay sign-up page and complete identity verification (KYC) before you try to create a card. Card services require KYC to be finished.
  • A Coinepay virtual card with its card number, expiry date and CVV, which are issued instantly and visible in the Coinepay dashboard or the mobile app (iOS / Android).
  • Enough balance on the card to cover the first charge plus any applicable tax. ShareFile plans have user minimums, so the first bill is larger than a single seat.
  • Your real billing details. Use the name and billing address that match your Coinepay card records, not a made-up address.

Note that ShareFile says its service is not available in Belarus, China or Russia, and that availability elsewhere does not by itself confirm that local self-service purchasing is supported in your market. Coinepay's virtual-asset-related services are also not available to residents of mainland China and some services are limited by jurisdiction.

Understand ShareFile plans and pricing

At the time of writing (October 2026), the main ShareFile pricing page lists four plans. US-dollar prices seen that day were:

PlanMonthly billingAnnual billingUser minimum
Advanced$18.15/user/month$16.50/user/month3 users
Premium$28.59/user/month$26.00/user/month3 users
Enterprise$42.00/user/month$35.00/user/month3 users
Virtual Data Room$77.00/user/month$69.30/user/month5 users

Because of the three-user minimum, Advanced on annual billing showed a first charge of $594/year before applicable tax at checkout. The pricing page inspected displayed US dollars; local-currency quotes for other markets are not confirmed here, and prices vary by region, so always check the official ShareFile pricing page before you buy.

One thing to plan around: a monthly plan can later move to annual or multi-year billing, but ShareFile says moving annual or multi-year billing back to monthly is not currently supported. Multi-year subscriptions are also non-cancellable during their term, so choose your billing cycle carefully.

Step-by-step: subscribe and pay

  1. Create or top up your Coinepay card. In the Coinepay app or dashboard, open your virtual card and confirm the number, expiry and CVV. Make sure the balance covers the first ShareFile charge and any tax.
  2. Start at ShareFile. On sharefile.com, choose Get Started, then pick your plan and select Buy Now.
  3. Select users and billing cycle. Set the number of seats (respecting the plan's minimum) and choose monthly or annual billing. The checkout shows the annual charge and notes that applicable final tax will appear on the invoice.
  4. Enter account information. Provide your account and company details. During account creation you also choose a hosting region, US or Europe. This cannot be changed later and some integrations are limited to US-based control planes, so pick the right one now.
  5. Enter billing information. Type your billing address exactly as it appears on your Coinepay card profile. A mismatch here is one of the most common reasons a card is declined.
  6. Save your card on Payment details. Enter the Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV. If a 3-D Secure or one-time passcode prompt appears, approve it through your Coinepay app.
  7. Submit. Review the total, then submit. ShareFile emails an activation link to finish setting up the account.

After purchase, billing lives under Account settings → Billing for employee users with billing permissions. That area covers plan changes, updating billing information, viewing invoices, paying card invoices and cancellation.

A note on free trials

ShareFile's official pages are inconsistent about trial length: current documentation mentions a one-time 14-day trial and a 7-day Virtual Data Room trial, while one Premium plan page mentions 30 days. The duration that applies to your specific sign-up is not something to assume, so check the offer shown when you start. If you begin with a trial, make sure your Coinepay card has balance before it converts to a paid subscription.

If your card is declined

ShareFile documents that card charges can fail and directs customers to Support or Accounts Receivable to request another attempt, but it does not publish a public list of decline codes. These are the usual causes worth checking on your side:

Insufficient balance

Remember the user minimum: even a one-person team pays for at least three seats (five for Virtual Data Room), plus tax. Confirm your Coinepay card holds enough to cover the full first charge, then retry.

Billing address mismatch

If the billing address you typed at the ShareFile billing step does not match the address on file for your Coinepay card, the charge can be rejected. Open your Coinepay profile, copy the address exactly, and re-enter it.

3-D Secure or verification prompt

If a bank-style verification or one-time code appears and you miss it, the payment fails. Keep the Coinepay app open and approve any prompt promptly, then submit again.

Merchant region checks

ShareFile blocks service in Belarus, China and Russia, and may apply region checks at checkout. If you believe the block is on the card side rather than ShareFile's policy, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card is suitable. Do not use a VPN, a different person's details or a false address to get around a regional restriction.

Card type restrictions

Because ShareFile does not publish which card networks or types it accepts for subscriptions, a decline may simply mean the merchant's processor did not accept the card. Ask Coinepay support to confirm your card details before trying again, and if the charge keeps failing, contact ShareFile Support to request another attempt.

Cancellation and refunds

To cancel, an employee with plan-change permission goes to Settings → Account settings → Billing → Cancel Account → Continue Cancellation → Cancel my Account. The account stays active through the next bill date or the end of the contract term.

Timing matters. ShareFile's March 2026 agreement requires written notice at least 30 days before renewal for annually billed customers and 7 days for monthly or quarterly customers, so do not rely only on the help page's shorter "cancel before renewal" wording. The agreement states that purchases are final without a refund right except as expressly provided, and multi-year subscriptions cannot be cancelled during their term. Billing-error adjustment requests must be made within 60 days after the relevant statement's closing date.

Managing the card side with Coinepay

For a business, you can keep ShareFile spending separate from other tools by using a dedicated virtual card and watching renewals in the Coinepay dashboard. Keep enough balance ahead of each renewal date so an automatic charge does not fail. If you need help with card details, balances or a failed charge, reach Coinepay through support or Telegram, available 24/7.

FAQ

Can I pay for Citrix ShareFile with a Coinepay virtual card?

ShareFile accepts a credit card at checkout and for invoices. It does not publish which card networks or types it accepts, so contact Coinepay support to confirm your card is suitable before you buy, and enter the billing address that matches your Coinepay card.

How much does ShareFile cost?

At the time of writing (October 2026) the US-dollar pricing page listed Advanced from $16.50/user/month annually, Premium from $26.00, Enterprise from $35.00 and Virtual Data Room from $69.30, all with user minimums. Prices vary by region, so check the official ShareFile pricing page.

Why was my card declined at ShareFile checkout?

Common causes are insufficient balance (plans bill for three or five seats minimum plus tax), a billing address that does not match your Coinepay card, a missed 3-D Secure prompt, or a merchant region check. Fix the detail and retry, or contact Coinepay support.

Do I need to complete verification before using my Coinepay card?

Yes. You must register and complete identity verification (KYC) in Coinepay before card services are available. The card number, expiry and CVV are then shown instantly in the app or dashboard.
