PyCharm is JetBrains' Python IDE, and since the 2025.1 release the Community and Professional editions were unified into a single application: free core features plus a paid PyCharm Pro subscription (the name that replaced the older "PyCharm Professional Edition"). This guide shows how to pay for that subscription using a Coinepay virtual card, from creating a JetBrains Account to completing checkout, and what to do if your card is declined.

Before you start, note that card issuance and fund services are provided by Coinepay's licensed partner financial institutions, and you must register and complete identity verification (KYC) before you can use a card. You can create an account at the Coinepay sign-up page and manage everything from the iOS app or Android app.

What you need before you buy

  • A verified Coinepay account with a virtual card issued — you will need the card number, expiry date and CVV, which appear in your Coinepay dashboard.
  • Enough balance on the card to cover the full PyCharm Pro charge plus any tax shown at checkout.
  • Your real billing details (name, address, country) matching the information on your Coinepay account.
  • A JetBrains Account, created with an email you control so the license is linked correctly.

JetBrains lists American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, Mastercard and Visa as accepted networks, and an online card needs a valid expiration date and security code. JetBrains cannot accept payments from sanctioned people, organizations or restricted territories, and it has suspended sales in Russia and Belarus. If you are unsure whether your Coinepay card meets a particular requirement, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you buy.

Understand the plans and prices first

A fresh PyCharm installation starts with a 30-day Pro trial; when it ends you can subscribe or keep using the free core features. On the JetBrains pricing page you will see PyCharm Pro for individuals and organizations, the All Products Pack bundle (which includes PyCharm), and JetBrains AI Pro as a separate add-on rather than a PyCharm tier.

At the time of writing (October 2026), the United States pricing page displayed PyCharm Pro at US$299 per user/year for organizations, and an individual subscription at US$109 for year one, US$87 for year two, and US$65/year from year three, subject to uninterrupted-payment terms. The French localized store displayed €299 per user/year before tax for organizations and €109/€87/€65 for individuals, with tax-inclusive amounts also shown. These are displayed prices, not a checkout quote — the final amount and currency (which may be USD, EUR, CNY, GBP, JPY or CZK depending on country) are determined at checkout. Monthly billing is offered. Always confirm the current figure on the official JetBrains pricing page, jetbrains.com/pycharm/buy, before you pay.

Step 1: Create or sign in to your JetBrains Account

Go to the JetBrains website and create a JetBrains Account using a supported third-party sign-in or an email address that you verify with a one-time code. Use that same email throughout, so your PyCharm Pro license appears in the account after purchase.

Step 2: Start checkout

  1. On the PyCharm pricing page, choose Buy under PyCharm Pro (individual or organization, as applies to you).
  2. Select the offered billing period. Eligible annual subscriptions can be paid upfront for one, two or three years; multi-year eligibility and totals appear at checkout, and this is a duration choice, not an extra feature tier.
  3. Review the total, including any tax shown for your country, before placing the order.

Step 3: Enter your Coinepay card details

When the payment form appears, choose the credit/debit card option (JetBrains also lists PayPal, and organizations can arrange wire transfer or a purchase order). Then:

  1. Open your Coinepay app or dashboard and copy the virtual card number, expiry date and CVV.
  2. Enter the card details exactly, and enter billing name and address that match your Coinepay account records.
  3. If your bank or card issuer triggers a 3-D Secure one-time-code step, approve it to authorize the charge.
  4. Place the order. Your PyCharm Pro license should then be attached to your JetBrains Account.

Step 4: Confirm and manage your subscription

For personal purchases, your subscription and cancellation controls live in JetBrains Account, and saved renewal methods are under the left-hand Payment Methods menu. For organizations, commercial licenses are managed in JetBrains Central Console: Billing → Subscription packs shows billing cycles, payment dates and renewal-method controls, and a first organizational purchase creates a subscription pack at checkout.

To keep automatic renewals working, make sure the Coinepay card saved for renewals stays funded and unexpired. JetBrains does not automatically retry a failed renewal charge after you update your payment details — use the renewal link in its failure email to complete the charge.

Troubleshooting: why a card gets declined

JetBrains documents several reasons an online card payment can fail. Work through these before retrying.

SymptomLikely causeWhat to do
Payment rejected immediatelyInsufficient funds or an exceeded limitTop up your Coinepay card so the balance covers the full total plus tax, then retry.
"Billing address" errorMismatched billing addressRe-enter the billing name, address and country exactly as held on your Coinepay account.
Authorization never completesMissing 3-D Secure support or a failed one-time-code stepComplete the verification prompt; if none appears, check that your card supports 3-D Secure.
Card refused for a foreign chargeInternational-transaction restrictionsConfirm with Coinepay support that international online payments are enabled for your card.
Expired-card messageThe card's expiry date has passedUse a current card and check the expiry shown in your Coinepay dashboard.
American Express rejectedIncorrect four-digit security codeEnter the correct code for that network.
Region or location errorRegional purchasing limits, or VPN useBuy from a location where the service is available, using your real details; do not use a VPN to bypass checks.

Always use your real identity and genuine billing information. Do not attempt to work around regional restrictions, payment checks or JetBrains' terms. If payments keep failing after you have confirmed funds and matching details, reach out to Coinepay support or ask on Coinepay's Telegram; for account- or license-side issues, contact JetBrains Sales Support with your order reference.

Cancellations and refunds

For a personal plan, open JetBrains Account, select the subscription and choose Cancel subscription; access continues to the end of the paid period and automatic renewal stops. For a commercial plan, in Central Console go to Licensing → Licenses, select the licenses, then Pay → Stop payments — they stay active until their current expiration dates. Cancellation alone does not issue a refund.

To request a refund, contact JetBrains Sales Support within 7 days of purchase for monthly or 30 days for annual subscriptions, giving your order reference or invoice number. Requests are reviewed rather than automatically approved. JetBrains says approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 3–5 business days, so keep the same Coinepay card active to receive any refund.

A note on availability

Some Coinepay services are not available in every jurisdiction, and virtual-asset services are not offered to residents of mainland China. JetBrains sells PyCharm in mainland China through Alipay and WeChat Pay rather than the standard card flow, so this card-based guide applies to regions where both JetBrains and Coinepay operate. FAQ

Which JetBrains plan should I pick for PyCharm?

Choose PyCharm Pro for the paid subscription. The All Products Pack is a bundle that also includes PyCharm, and JetBrains AI Pro is a separate add-on, not a PyCharm tier. At checkout you can select an annual billing period and, if eligible, pay one, two or three years upfront.

Will a Coinepay virtual card work at JetBrains checkout?

JetBrains accepts American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, Mastercard and Visa for online card payments, and an online card needs a valid expiry date and security code. Coinepay does not state which network or bank issues its cards, so confirm your card meets any requirement with Coinepay support before you buy.

Why was my card declined when paying for PyCharm Pro?

JetBrains lists insufficient funds or an exceeded limit, a mismatched billing address, an expired card, missing 3-D Secure support, a failed one-time-code step, international-transaction restrictions, an incorrect Amex code, or VPN/location issues. Check your balance and billing details, complete any verification prompt, and retry.

Does PyCharm Pro renew automatically, and what if the charge fails?

Saved renewal methods appear under Payment Methods in JetBrains Account (or Central Console for organizations). JetBrains does not automatically retry a failed renewal after you update payment details, so keep your Coinepay card funded and use the renewal link in the failure email to complete the charge.

Can I get a refund if I paid with my Coinepay card?

Request a refund from JetBrains Sales Support within 7 days for monthly or 30 days for annual subscriptions, with your order or invoice number. Requests are reviewed, and approved refunds go back to the original card within 3–5 business days, so keep the same Coinepay card active.
