Paramount+ is a video streaming service with films, series, sports and live TV that varies by country. If you prefer to keep subscription spending separate from your main account, you can pay with a Coinepay virtual card that comes with an instant card number, expiry date and CVV. This guide walks through what you need, how the Paramount+ sign-up and checkout works, and how to troubleshoot a declined payment.
Before you start
A few things make checkout smoother:
- A verified Coinepay account. Register and complete identity verification (KYC) first. You can sign up at the Coinepay registration page and manage everything from the 24/7 dashboard or the Coinepay app for iOS and Google Play.
- A funded virtual card. Create a card in the app and keep enough balance to cover the plan price plus any applicable taxes. Check your fees, limits and supported currencies in the Coinepay app, as these are not published here.
- Your real billing details. Use the name and billing address tied to your account. Paramount+ requires you to register and watch within the territory its terms define, and it prohibits using a VPN to evade geographic restrictions or obtain another region's pricing.
Know the plan you want
Plan names and prices differ by market, so confirm them on the official Paramount+ site for your country before you pay.
In the United States, the tiers are Paramount+ Essential (ad-supported, no local live CBS station) and Paramount+ Premium (on-demand without ads, subject to stated exceptions, with local live CBS and SHOWTIME). At the time of writing (October 2026), Essential is listed at US$8.99/month or US$89.99/year and Premium at US$13.99/month or US$139.99/year, plus applicable taxes.
Several international markets instead use Basic (with ads), Standard and Premium, with a Basic (Mobile Only) option listed for Mexico and Brazil. For example, at the time of writing the UK and Ireland list Basic with Ads at £5.99/€5.99 per month, Standard at £9.99/€9.99 and Premium at £12.99/€12.99, with annual options available. Canada and Australia have their own pricing. Availability of each tier differs by country, so always check the official pricing page rather than relying on these figures, which can change.
Paramount raised US prices for new subscribers on January 15, 2026, and reported January 2026 increases in Canada, Australia and Latin America. Affected existing subscribers are notified by email 30 days before an increase.
Step-by-step: subscribe and pay
Subscribing directly on the Paramount+ website gives you the most control over the card you use, because device and app-store sign-ups route payment through that platform instead.
- Open a Coinepay virtual card. In the Coinepay app, create or select the card you want to use and copy its number, expiry date and CVV. Confirm the balance covers the plan and taxes.
- Go to the Paramount+ website. Start the sign-up for your country and create an account or sign in to an existing one.
- Choose your plan. Select the tier you want (for example Essential or Premium in the US, or Basic/Standard/Premium internationally) and your monthly or annual billing cycle. The checkout presents the plan and price before you complete the purchase.
- Enter payment details. Add the Coinepay card number, expiry and CVV, plus the billing name and address on your account. Paramount's direct-web checkout lists Visa and Mastercard, with American Express added for Austria, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland and the UK, and PayPal for Australia, Canada, the UK, Italy, France, Germany and Austria. Other options depend on location.
- Confirm the subscription. Review the summary, then select Agree & Subscribe (wording may vary by device). Complete any 3-D Secure verification step if prompted, and wait for the confirmation screen or email.
Important: the US direct checkout and card region
A Paramount-operated support article states that for US billing the system accepts only valid US credit cards, and it identifies "invalid credit card" as the message shown when a non-US card is detected. That article lists Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and PayPal for US billing, though whether every method appears on every current checkout screen is not confirmed. Acceptance of debit, prepaid and virtual cards on Paramount's own checkout is also not confirmed by the payment-method pages, and a partner store's accepted cards are not the same as Paramount's direct policy.
In short, Paramount+ may require a card issued in the billing country, and we cannot state whether any given card meets that requirement. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets this requirement before you buy. You can reach the team through Coinepay support or on Telegram. Services related to virtual assets are not available to residents of mainland China, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction.
Troubleshooting a declined payment
Paramount's US terms name an expired or declined payment method, insufficient funds and insufficient gift-card credit as possible failure reasons; the terms allow charge retries and suspension if a valid payment method is not supplied. Here are the most common causes and what to do.
Insufficient balance
The card must cover the plan price plus any taxes at the moment of charge, and again at each renewal. Top up in the Coinepay app and retry. For annual plans, make sure the full yearly amount is available.
Billing address mismatch
Enter the exact billing name and address linked to your Coinepay account. A mismatch between what you type and what the issuer has on file is a frequent decline cause.
3-D Secure verification
If a verification prompt appears, approve it through your Coinepay app or the method shown. An unconfirmed or timed-out step usually stops the charge.
Merchant region checks
If you see "invalid credit card" on a US checkout, Paramount likely detected a card it treats as non-US. Do not attempt to disguise your location or card origin; instead confirm with Coinepay support whether your card fits the country's requirement, and use the checkout for the correct country.
Expiry-date errors
Some users have reported messages such as "Exp. MM is invalid" or "Exp. YY is invalid," or a card shown as expired despite a later printed date. The causes of those individual reports are not confirmed. Re-enter the expiry exactly as shown on your Coinepay card, check the month and year fields are not swapped, and if it persists, open a fresh virtual card in the app and try again.
Manage or cancel your subscription
For a direct website subscription, sign in at the Paramount+ account page and use Edit Payment Information to update your card; the account area also handles subscription management. If you were billed by Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku or another partner, you must manage payment and cancellation with that biller instead.
A direct cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, with access until then and no refund of fees already paid in the US; the terms preserve specified legal or contractual exceptions. Regional rules differ — the UK notes that immediate access to content can end the right of withdrawal, and Australia preserves Australian Consumer Law refund rights — so review your local terms. Free-trial cancellation takes effect at the trial's end; seven-day trials are listed only for Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the UK and Ireland.
To keep streaming without interruption, set a renewal reminder and make sure your Coinepay card stays funded. You can review balances and transactions any time from the dashboard or the Coinepay mobile app. Learn more about Coinepay at our homepage.

FAQ
Can I pay for Paramount+ with a Coinepay virtual card?
You can enter a Coinepay virtual card at the Paramount+ direct-web checkout, which lists Visa and Mastercard (with Amex and PayPal in some countries). However, Paramount's US system states it accepts only valid US credit cards and shows "invalid credit card" for a detected non-US card, and acceptance of virtual or prepaid cards on direct checkout is not confirmed. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you buy.
How much does Paramount+ cost?
Prices and plan names vary by country. At the time of writing (October 2026) US Essential is listed at US$8.99/month or US$89.99/year and Premium at US$13.99/month or US$139.99/year, plus taxes. International markets use Basic/Standard/Premium tiers at different prices. Always check the official Paramount+ pricing page for your region, as prices change.
Why was my Paramount+ payment declined?
Common causes include insufficient balance, a billing address that doesn't match your card details, an incomplete 3-D Secure step, or a region check. If you see "invalid credit card" on a US checkout, Paramount may have detected a non-US card. Top up in the Coinepay app, re-check your details, and contact Coinepay support if it continues.
Does Paramount+ offer a free trial?
According to Paramount's September 2026 help article, seven-day trials are listed only in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the UK and Ireland. A routine US seven-day trial is not confirmed, so check the current offer on the official site for your country.
How do I update my card or cancel Paramount+?
For a direct website subscription, sign in to the Paramount+ account page and use Edit Payment Information to change your card, or cancel from the same account area. If you subscribed through Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku or another partner, manage payment and cancellation with that biller instead. Direct US cancellations take effect at the end of the paid period with no refund of fees already paid.
