Netlify hosts websites, serverless functions and front-end builds, and its paid plans need a valid saved payment method on file. If you want to keep your Netlify spending separate from your main account, a Coinepay virtual card gives you an instant card number, expiry date and CVV you can add to your Netlify billing details. This guide walks through what you need, how to sign up and add the card, and how to troubleshoot a declined payment.

Coinepay virtual cards are commonly used for software and cloud subscriptions like Netlify. Before you start, remember that card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions, and you must complete identity verification (KYC) first. Some services are not available in every jurisdiction, and virtual-asset services are not available to residents of mainland China.

What you need before you start

  • A verified Coinepay account with an active virtual card. Register at Coinepay, complete KYC, then create a card in the dashboard or the mobile app (iOS / Android).
  • Enough balance on the card to cover the plan plus any applicable tax. Netlify shows US-dollar prices; taxes may be added on top.
  • Your real billing details — name, address and country — matching your Coinepay account. Netlify's billing screens may run an address check and 3-D Secure, so use accurate information.
  • A Netlify account where you are the Team Owner or Billing Admin, since only those roles can change the plan or payment method.

Netlify's billing documentation accepts credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay (Enterprise can also use ACH or wire transfer); PayPal and cryptocurrency are not accepted. A current, exhaustive list of accepted card networks — and whether prepaid or debit cards are generally accepted — is not published by Netlify, so if you are unsure whether your card qualifies, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Netlify's requirement before you buy.

Understanding Netlify's plans

New self-serve accounts use Netlify's credit-based plans. At the time of writing (October 2026), the public pricing page lists:

PlanPrice (USD/month)Monthly credits
Free$0300 (hard limit)
Personal$91,000
Pro$20 / $33 / $63 / $95 / $1263,000 / 5,000 / 10,000 / 15,000 / 20,000
EnterpriseBy quotationCustom

Pro tiers of 5,000 credits or more let unused plan credits roll over for one billing cycle. There is also a separate eligibility-based Netlify Open Source plan with 10,000 credits per month. Accounts created before September 4, 2025 may keep Legacy Free, Starter or Pro pricing, in which case the account dashboard — not the new public table — shows the applicable charges. Prices can vary and taxes may be additional, so always confirm the current figure on Netlify's official pricing page before you subscribe.

Step 1: Create or sign in to your Netlify account

Go to Netlify's official site and sign up using Google, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or email. The sign-up page starts you on a free plan. If you already have an account, sign in and make sure you are working in the team you want to pay for.

Step 2: Choose your plan

  1. Open Usage & billing in your team settings.
  2. Go to Plan details and select Change team plan.
  3. Choose Personal or the Pro credit tier that fits your expected usage, then confirm. This is the documented self-serve plan-selection step.

Remember that monthly plan payments are scheduled at the start of your account's billing cycle, and self-serve customers cannot prepay a year.

Step 3: Add your Coinepay virtual card

  1. In Usage & billing, open Billing details → Payment information.
  2. Add a new payment method and enter the virtual card number, expiry date and CVV from your Coinepay dashboard or app.
  3. Enter the billing address that matches your Coinepay account.
  4. Save. Netlify notes that adding or editing a payment method may trigger your issuing bank's 3-D Secure authentication, so be ready to approve the prompt.

Non-Enterprise invoices appear under Invoices in the same billing area, so you can download receipts for your records. To later remove a saved card, you need to add another payment method or downgrade to the Free plan.

Step 4: Confirm and keep the card funded

Once the plan and payment method are saved, Netlify will charge the card at the start of each billing cycle. Because the exact checkout screens can change, follow the on-screen prompts and check your Coinepay app to confirm the charge posted. Keep enough balance on the card ahead of each renewal date so a recurring payment does not fail.

Troubleshooting a declined card

Reported Netlify messages include "Your card has been declined," "Transaction declined," and, for one India-based user, "non-compliant transaction, payment declined." These reports do not establish the cause of every decline, but the checks below resolve the most common ones.

Insufficient balance

Confirm your Coinepay card holds enough to cover the plan price plus any tax. A balance that only just matches the price can fail if tax is added. Top up in the Coinepay app and retry.

Billing address mismatch

The name and billing address on Netlify must match the details registered to your Coinepay card. A mismatch is a frequent cause of declines. Correct the address in Netlify's Payment information screen and save again.

3-D Secure not completed

If your bank requests 3-D Secure and the prompt is missed or blocked, the payment fails. Complete any verification step Coinepay or the issuer sends. Pop-up blockers and privacy extensions can hide this prompt.

Browser or entry errors

For an error while entering a card, Netlify recommends retrying in an incognito window without browser extensions before contacting support. This rules out cached data and script blockers interfering with the form.

Merchant region and card checks

Netlify's self-serve agreement restricts service for sanctioned or otherwise prohibited parties, and Netlify staff have reported difficulty collecting recurring payments from India (reported in December 2024 and November 2025). Whether that still applies to all cards on a given date is not something you can assume. Netlify also does not publish whether prepaid or debit cards are generally accepted. If repeated attempts fail with a region or compliance message, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card details, and contact Netlify support about their side.

Cancelling or changing your plan

To downgrade, go to Usage & billing → Plan details and select a lower plan; it takes effect at the next billing cycle. Netlify's October 2025 self-serve agreement states that fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable, including unused time after termination, though the billing FAQ separately describes a prorated refund when you upgrade to a higher Pro credit tier. Deleting a team or user takes its sites offline and deletes DNS zones, so review the impact before removing anything. Check Netlify's official pages for the latest terms.

A note on compliance

Use your real identity and real billing details with both Coinepay and Netlify. Do not attempt to bypass a merchant's regional checks or terms. Coinepay screens customers against sanctions lists and does not serve sanctioned persons or residents of jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions. If you have a question about your card, reach out through the support center or Telegram.

FAQ

Does Netlify accept virtual cards?

Netlify's billing documentation accepts credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, but it does not publish a full list of accepted card networks or confirm whether prepaid cards are generally accepted. Add your Coinepay card in Payment information, and if you are unsure it qualifies, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you buy.

Where do I add a payment method on Netlify?

As a Team Owner or Billing Admin, go to Usage & billing → Billing details → Payment information, add your card number, expiry date, CVV and matching billing address, then save. You may be asked to complete 3-D Secure authentication from your bank.

Why was my Coinepay card declined on Netlify?

Common causes are insufficient balance, a billing address that does not match your card, an incomplete 3-D Secure prompt, or a merchant region check. Top up, correct the address, complete any verification, and try again in an incognito window without extensions as Netlify suggests.

How much does Netlify cost?

At the time of writing (October 2026), self-serve credit-based plans are Free ($0), Personal ($9/month) and Pro, which ranges from $20 to $126/month across five credit tiers. Taxes may be added. Always check Netlify's official pricing page for current figures.

Can I get a refund after paying for Netlify?

Netlify's October 2025 self-serve agreement states that fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable, including unused time after termination, though it describes a prorated refund when you upgrade to a higher Pro credit tier. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.
