You can start building in Lovable on its Free plan without a card. If you want to upgrade a workspace, Lovable’s web checkout lets you enter payment details when you select a paid plan. This guide explains how to prepare a Coinepay virtual card, find the right checkout, and respond if a payment is declined. It covers paying for a Lovable workspace—not setting up payments for customers of an app you build with Lovable.
What you need before you upgrade
- A Lovable account: Sign up with email and password, Google, GitHub, or Apple. Sign-up creates a Free personal workspace. Configured Business and Enterprise workspaces may also offer SSO.
- Access to the workspace’s billing controls: Workspace owners and admins manage billing. If you cannot see the plan or payment settings for a shared workspace, ask its owner or an admin.
- A Coinepay virtual card: Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. You can find your issued card number, expiry date, and CVV in the Coinepay app or 24/7 self-service dashboard.
- Enough available funds: Check the amount shown at Lovable checkout, including any applicable tax, against the funds available for your payment. Check the Coinepay app or contact Coinepay support if you need help with your card or funding options.
- Your real billing information: Have the name, address, and tax details applicable to your purchase ready. Use accurate details rather than changing your location to try to pass a payment check.
Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions. Payment options can vary at checkout, so do not assume a particular card will be accepted until Lovable’s checkout confirms the payment.
Choose a Lovable plan and billing period
Lovable’s standard plan names are Free, Pro, Business, and Enterprise. Free requires no credit card to start. For a self-service web upgrade, select a Pro or Business credit tier in your workspace. Both plans list tiers ranging from 100 to 10,000 credits per month, so check the tier as well as the billing period before paying.
At the time of writing (October 2026), Lovable lists its 100-credits-per-month Pro tier at US$25 monthly or US$250 annually, and its 100-credits-per-month Business tier at US$50 monthly or US$500 annually. An annual plan is charged yearly, although credits are issued monthly. Prices, taxes, and available choices may change; check Lovable’s official pricing page and the final checkout total before confirming. Enterprise pricing depends on the arrangement rather than a single published fixed price.
If you qualify for Lovable’s verified student-or-teacher offer, you may see Pro for Students at checkout. It is an offer on monthly Pro at 100 credits, not a separate standard plan; check your eligibility and the displayed discount before paying.
How to sign up and pay on Lovable’s website
- Create your account. Go to lovable.dev/signup and choose email and password, Google, GitHub, or Apple. Complete the sign-up prompts to enter your Free personal workspace. If you are paying for an existing team workspace, switch to that workspace and make sure you have owner or admin access.
- Open the plan settings. In Lovable, go to Workspace settings → Plans & credit usage. Review the current plan and credit usage so you upgrade the intended workspace.
- Select the plan. Choose a Pro or Business credit tier, review the monthly or annual billing choice, and select Upgrade. Confirm that the credit tier and billing period shown are what you want; annual billing is a yearly charge, not twelve separate monthly payments.
- Enter your payment details. Lovable’s web upgrade continues through Stripe checkout. If card entry is offered, retrieve your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV from the Coinepay app or dashboard and enter them as requested. Provide your genuine billing details and review any tax and the final amount.
- Complete any payment check and confirm. Follow any authentication prompt presented during checkout. Do not repeatedly submit a payment while a check is still pending. Once checkout finishes, return to the workspace and verify the plan displayed under Plans & credit usage. Keep the checkout confirmation for your records.
Lovable’s web checkout and an in-app purchase are different routes. A plan bought inside Lovable’s iOS app is billed by Apple, rather than through Lovable’s Stripe portal. If you specifically want to enter a card in Lovable’s web checkout, start the upgrade on its website.
What to do if your card is declined
A declined attempt does not, by itself, identify the cause. Lovable advises checking payment details, retrying, and trying another method if necessary. Work through the checks below before making another attempt:
- Insufficient available funds: Compare the available amount shown in Coinepay with the complete checkout total, including any tax. If you are buying annually, account for the full yearly charge. Check the app or ask Coinepay support about funding if the available amount is unclear.
- Incorrect card details or billing address: Re-enter the number, expiry date, and CVV carefully. Make sure the billing name and address are your real, current details. If those details need updating, correct them through the appropriate account or payment settings rather than entering an invented address.
- Authentication or 3-D Secure problems: If checkout requests an additional cardholder check, follow the on-screen instructions and complete it through the available authentication flow. If the prompt expires, fails, or never appears, ask Coinepay support to review what happened to the card attempt; you can also ask Lovable support about the checkout error.
- Merchant or regional checks: A payment may be subject to Lovable’s checkout rules, card checks, and applicable regional requirements. Use your actual country and billing information. Lovable’s terms restrict use by people in, ordinarily resident in, or acting for sanctioned or comprehensively embargoed territories, as well as restricted parties. Do not try to bypass a location or eligibility restriction.
- A checkout or Stripe issue: If the details and available funds look right, note the exact on-screen error and when it occurred, then try again once. If it persists, contact Lovable support about checkout and Coinepay support about the card attempt. Do not send your full card number or CVV in a support message.
A card can also be declined for issuer security checks or other reasons not visible from a generic checkout message. No troubleshooting step guarantees approval. If Lovable offers another suitable payment method at your checkout, you can consider it without assuming that every method offered by Stripe elsewhere is available on Lovable.
Manage payment details, invoices, or cancellation
After a web purchase, workspace owners and admins can go to Workspace settings → Plans & credit usage → Manage → Invoices & payments to open Stripe’s portal for receipts and payment methods. To update the billing name, address, or tax details, use Manage → Edit billing information. Review the workspace and the information you enter before saving changes.
Web subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before renewal. To stop future renewal, use Workspace settings → Plans & credit usage → Manage → Downgrade to free. The paid plan remains active through the current billing period. When the downgrade takes effect, unexpired subscription and rollover credits are frozen rather than refunded; resubscribing before they expire reactivates them. Purchased top-up and bonus credits remain usable until their expiry.
Lovable generally does not refund web subscription fees or credits unless applicable law requires it. Its support team can review a claimed billing error, such as a charge after cancellation. An iOS in-app plan follows different billing rules: Apple handles its receipts and refund requests, and Lovable says that purchase covers one month without automatic renewal. Check which purchase route you used before looking for a cancellation control or receipt.
