LinkedIn Learning gives you access to thousands of professional courses, and most people reach it through an eligible LinkedIn Premium plan or a Learning for Teams subscription. This guide shows how to set up a Coinepay virtual card and use it at LinkedIn checkout, then walks through the most common reasons a card is declined and how to resolve them.
What you need before you start
- A registered Coinepay account with identity verification (KYC) complete. If you have not done this yet, create your account and finish verification first.
- A Coinepay virtual card issued from your dashboard or the iOS or Android app, with its card number, expiry date and CVV ready.
- Enough balance on the card to cover the plan you choose, plus any tax applied at checkout.
- Your real billing address exactly as it is held with Coinepay, since LinkedIn checks the billing postcode.
- A LinkedIn account signed in.
LinkedIn's online checkout lists eligible credit, debit and prepaid American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Visa, RuPay and JCB cards; it also notes that some prepaid cards cannot support recurring charges. Because card acceptance can depend on the card type and your region, check your card details in the Coinepay app and, if you are unsure, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets this requirement before you buy.
Which LinkedIn plan includes Learning
LinkedIn says it no longer sells a new, standalone individual Learning subscription. Individuals get Learning access through an eligible LinkedIn Premium plan, while organizations can provide licenses or buy Learning for Teams. The plans that include Learning are:
| Plan | Who it suits |
|---|---|
| Premium Career | Individuals |
| Premium Business | Individuals and small teams |
| Premium All-in-One (formerly Premium Business Suite) | Still rolling out; may not appear in your location |
| Learning for Teams | Groups of 2–20 licenses via self-service |
At the time of writing (October 2026), published starting prices per license were, for example, US$39.99/month or US$239.88/year for Premium Career, US$69.99/month or US$539.88/year for Premium Business, and US$89.99/month or US$899.88/year for Premium All-in-One; Learning for Teams was listed at US$379.88 per seat per year. LinkedIn labels these figures as estimates that may exclude tax and promotions and that can differ by device or location, so always confirm the current amount on LinkedIn's own pricing page before you pay.
Step 1: Create and fund your Coinepay virtual card
- Sign in to the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app.
- Issue a virtual card. You will see the card number, expiry date and CVV instantly.
- Add funds so the balance covers the plan price plus tax. For an annual plan, make sure the full yearly amount is available.
- Note the billing address associated with your Coinepay account; you will enter it at LinkedIn checkout.
Step 2: Subscribe as an individual (Premium with Learning)
- Go to a LinkedIn Premium plan page and select an eligible plan that includes Learning.
- Choose the monthly or annual offer. If an eligible free trial is offered, note that it requires payment details and converts automatically to a paid subscription unless you cancel; trial eligibility and length can vary.
- At the payment step, enter your Coinepay card number, expiry date and CVV.
- Enter your billing address and postcode exactly as held with Coinepay.
- Complete any 3-D Secure confirmation (see below), then review the total and confirm.
Step 3: Subscribe for a team
- On the LinkedIn Learning homepage, choose Buy for my team, then For Teams.
- Enter the number of licenses (self-service initial purchase is for 2–20 licenses). Remember an administrator also needs a license.
- Select card as the payment method (PayPal is also offered).
- Enter your Coinepay card and billing details, review the amount and start the trial if one is offered.
Step 4: Manage the card on file
For Premium billing, open Me → Premium features → Manage subscription to reach the LinkedIn Admin Center → Purchases. Add cards under Payment methods, and change the card assigned to a purchase from that purchase's Actions menu. To find Learning receipts, go to your Learning profile photo → Settings → Manage → Subscriptions & payments → View purchase history. Note that billing functions in the Learning app differ from desktop.
Other payment methods LinkedIn may show
Depending on the product and region, Premium checkout may also support PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, India's UPI and SEPA direct debit, with Apple Pay and Google Pay available on desktop and mobile web. ACH and Bill Me Later are not accepted. For Learning subscriptions specifically, iDEAL and Sofort are not available even though LinkedIn lists them for some other purchases. Always confirm which methods appear at the product's own checkout.
Troubleshooting: common card-declined causes
LinkedIn lists insufficient funds, expired or invalid cards, issuer blocks, billing-postcode mismatch, disallowed recurring payments and India payment rules as common decline reasons, and it recommends checking with the card issuer for details. Here is how to work through them with a Coinepay card.
Insufficient balance
Confirm the card balance in the Coinepay app covers the full charge plus tax. Annual plans charge the whole year at once, so top up before retrying.
Billing address or postcode mismatch
Enter the billing address and postcode exactly as registered with Coinepay. A mismatch is one of the most frequent declines. If you recently changed your details, make sure both sides agree.
3-D Secure authentication
Some charges require 3-D Secure confirmation. Keep the Coinepay app and your phone handy to approve the verification prompt. If you miss it, restart the checkout and approve when asked.
Recurring-payment restrictions
LinkedIn notes that some prepaid cards cannot support recurring charges. If a subscription renewal or trial setup is rejected for this reason, check in the Coinepay app or with support whether your card can handle recurring billing before relying on it for renewals.
Merchant region checks and rollout limits
Availability is product- and checkout-specific. Premium All-in-One may not yet appear in your location, and LinkedIn does not publish a full country-by-country Learning purchase list. Use your real location and billing details; do not attempt to disguise your region. If a plan is not offered where you are, pick one that is available to you.
India e-mandate
In India, recurring-payment e-mandate authentication can block a charge if the issuing bank or card does not support it, and not every RuPay issuer is compatible. Follow your bank's e-mandate steps during checkout.
Backup payment behaviour
For eligible online recurring Premium and Learning subscriptions, LinkedIn can try up to two saved backup cards after the preferred card fails. This feature is not available in the EEA, UK or India. If you only want the Coinepay card used, keep your saved cards tidy.
Generic processing error
Some users have reported a message like "There was an error processing your payment. Please use an alternative payment method." The underlying cause is not always clear. If this persists after you confirm balance, address and 3-D Secure, check the card status in the Coinepay app and contact Coinepay support, or reach out on Telegram, so they can confirm whether the transaction reached the card.
Cancellation and refunds
Cancel a directly purchased Premium plan from its subscription's Purchases page at least one day before the next billing date. A paid plan stays active through its billing cycle, while canceling a free trial ends access immediately. For Learning specifically, LinkedIn also describes a desktop route: Learning → profile photo → Settings → Account type: Learning → Manage → My Premium → Manage Premium account → Cancel subscription, with a separate Purchases & Payments route for Teams. The Learning cancellation page says it does not offer Learning-subscription refunds, though LinkedIn's broader refund policy says Premium and Learning subscriptions may be refundable within seven days of charge without Premium usage, subject to local-law rights; eligibility is decided when LinkedIn reviews your case. Purchases made through the iOS app are handled by Apple for cancellation and refunds, while a purchase made through iOS mobile web is processed by LinkedIn and must be canceled on desktop.
A note on regional changes
From January 1, 2026, LinkedIn charges and refunds in Bulgaria in EUR rather than BGN, and its notice also covers resubscription for existing Learning subscribers. If you are billed in a currency different from your card, confirm the amount shown at checkout before you confirm.
Coinepay's card and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction. Manage your card, balance and transactions any time from the 24/7 dashboard or the Coinepay mobile app.
