LanguageTool Premium adds advanced grammar, style and rephrasing checks on top of the free Basic writing assistant, and its hosted browser extension now requires a Premium subscription. If you want to pay with a Coinepay virtual card, this guide walks through what you need, how to create an account, how checkout works and what to do if your card is declined.
What you need before you start
- A verified Coinepay account. Register at the Coinepay sign-up page and complete identity verification (KYC) before you try to pay. Card services are only available after KYC.
- A Coinepay virtual card with its card number, expiry date and CVV, which you can view in the Coinepay dashboard or the mobile app (iOS / Google Play).
- Enough available balance on the card to cover the plan you choose plus any taxes LanguageTool adds at checkout.
- Your real billing address, which must match the details on your Coinepay card.
LanguageTool is operated by Learneo, Inc. Its help center lists credit cards from Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and JCB, as well as PayPal. Whether a particular card is accepted depends on the card itself and the merchant's checks, so if you are unsure, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you buy.
LanguageTool Premium plans and pricing
LanguageTool offers Basic (free), Premium for individuals, and For Teams, with a separate LanguageTool for Business option for larger organizations. Individual Premium can be billed Monthly, Quarterly, Annually or every 2 years.
At the time of writing (October 2026), the LanguageTool help center lists individual Premium at €19.90/month, €39.90/quarter, €59.89/year or €99.90 for two years, and team plans at €56.90 per user per year for up to 20 users. Teams of 2–20 users can buy online, while teams needing more than 20 must request a customized offer. Prices and local-currency amounts vary by region and may have changed, so always confirm the current figure on the official LanguageTool pricing page before you pay. Applicable taxes may be added to the displayed price at checkout.
Note: the help article describes €59.89/year as roughly €4.90 per month, but the annual total is what you are actually charged—rely on the stated total rather than the monthly equivalent.
Step 1: Create a LanguageTool account
- Go to languagetool.org and open the registration form.
- Enter your name, email address and a password to create a free account.
- Verify your email if prompted, then sign in. A Premium purchase requires an account or login plus an accepted payment method.
Step 2: Choose your Premium plan
- Open the Premium page from your account and select Premium (individual) or For Teams.
- Pick your billing interval: Monthly, Quarterly, Annual or 2 years. Longer intervals usually lower the effective monthly cost.
- Review the total shown, including any tax. Remember that subscriptions renew automatically at the selected interval unless you cancel.
Qualifying students, teachers and professors may be offered a discount of up to 20%; the exact terms and resulting price are set by LanguageTool, so check the official page if that applies to you.
Step 3: Pay with your Coinepay virtual card
- On the checkout screen, choose the credit/debit card option rather than PayPal. The initial payment method you pick is also used for later renewal charges, and switching between card and PayPal later requires support to cancel and have you re-subscribe—so decide now.
- Open the Coinepay app or dashboard and copy your virtual card number, expiry date and CVV.
- Enter the card details exactly as shown. Double-check for typos—checkout has separate validation messages for an invalid card number, expiry date or CVV.
- Enter your billing address so it matches the details registered to your Coinepay card.
- If your bank or Coinepay prompts a 3-D Secure confirmation, approve it in the Coinepay app or via the verification method you've set up.
- Submit the payment. Your agreement is concluded once LanguageTool receives payment and sends a confirmation email. Premium features should then activate on your account.
If you don't see confirmation, check your email (including spam) and your Coinepay transaction history before retrying, so you don't pay twice.
Troubleshooting: card declined or not accepted
LanguageTool's help center and checkout document several specific reasons a card payment can fail. Work through these before you try again.
Insufficient funds
The charge, plus any tax, must fit within your available balance. Top up your Coinepay card in the app, then retry. For a longer plan such as Annual or 2 years, make sure the full amount is available.
Billing-address mismatch
A documented failure reason is a billing address that doesn't match the card. Make sure the address at checkout is identical to the one on file for your Coinepay card. You can update your LanguageTool billing details later under Account settings → My account → Change billing address.
3-D Secure / failed authentication
Checkout can return a failed-authentication message. If an authentication step appears, complete it promptly in the Coinepay app. An expired approval window or a missed prompt will stop the payment.
Bank hold or international-transaction restriction
Decline reasons also include a bank hold, an international-transaction restriction, an inactive card, too many authorization attempts, or a daily approval limit. The precise cause of an individual decline has to be checked with the card issuer—so confirm the card's status and any limits in your Coinepay dashboard, and reach out to Coinepay support if you need help interpreting a decline.
Expired or invalid card
Check the expiry date on your current Coinepay card and re-enter the details carefully. An expired card is listed as a specific failure reason.
Unsupported card type or region
Checkout can show an unsupported-card-type message that suggests Visa, Mastercard, Amex or PayPal, and some payment options vary by country (for example, checkout states SEPA isn't supported in every country). Use your real location and details—never a proxy, Tor or any workaround, which LanguageTool flags as a failure reason and which can breach its terms. If you're unsure whether your card qualifies, contact Coinepay support to confirm before buying.
Managing your subscription after purchase
You can update the card on your existing subscription under Account settings → My account, where Manage payment method sits near the bottom. To cancel, use Account settings → My Account → Cancel subscription; LanguageTool sends an email confirmation, and access continues through the current billing period, after which it won't renew.
If a renewal payment fails, LanguageTool retries automatically for about a week; if it still fails, Premium expires and you'll need to re-subscribe. Keeping your Coinepay card funded and active before the renewal date avoids this. LanguageTool also offers a 14-day money-back guarantee—an unsatisfied buyer can request a refund from LanguageTool support within the first 14 days, and mandatory local cancellation and refund rights still apply. Refund treatment after that window depends on LanguageTool's current terms.
A note for businesses
If you're buying a team plan or managing software subscriptions across a company, Coinepay lets you issue dedicated virtual cards with custom spending limits, which makes it easy to keep a tool like LanguageTool on its own card with a controlled budget. You can create and manage these from the Coinepay dashboard.
Some Coinepay services are not available in every jurisdiction, and virtual-asset-related services are not offered to residents of mainland China. Check the Coinepay site or ask support if you're unsure about availability in your region.

Why was my Coinepay card declined at LanguageTool checkout?
Common documented causes are insufficient funds, a billing-address mismatch, failed 3-D Secure authentication, an expired or inactive card, a bank hold or international-transaction restriction, and too many attempts. Check your balance and details in the Coinepay app, and contact the card issuer or Coinepay support for the exact cause.
Will my Premium subscription renew automatically?
