JetBlue sells individual flights rather than a recurring subscription, so paying with a card means completing a one-time checkout for the fare, seats and extras you choose. This guide walks through what you need, how to book and pay on the JetBlue website, and how to troubleshoot a declined card when you use a Coinepay virtual card.
Before you start
A Coinepay virtual card gives you an instant card number, expiry date and CVV that you can use for online shopping and travel bookings. To get one, register and complete identity verification (KYC) first:
- Create your account at Coinepay sign-up and finish KYC.
- Install the app from the App Store or Google Play to manage your card.
- Fund the card with enough to cover the full fare plus any seats, bags or extras you add at checkout.
Note that services related to virtual assets are not available to residents of mainland China, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction. Always use your real identity and billing details at checkout.
Check card acceptance first
JetBlue's payment-options page lists the card networks it accepts for online purchases: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, JCB, Diners Club and UATP. JetBlue also states that an online prepaid card must cover the entire purchase amount. Coinepay does not publish which network its card runs on or whether it is prepaid, so before you book, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets JetBlue's requirements, and make sure your available balance covers the whole order.
Understanding JetBlue fares
JetBlue announced a simplified shopping structure on July 27, 2026. You now choose an onboard experience—Main, EvenMore®, BlueFirst™ or Mint®—usually with Base, Standard and Flex fare options where offered. The fare guide lists names such as Main Base, Main, Main Flex; EvenMore Base, EvenMore, EvenMore Flex; BlueFirst Base, BlueFirst, BlueFirst Flex; and Mint Base, Mint, Mint Flex.
The fare type affects change and cancellation rules: Base fares generally charge for changes or cancellations, Standard fares have no change or cancellation fee (eligible cancellations give travel credit), and Flex fares are refundable to the original payment method if cancelled before departure. There is no fixed price per fare tier or country—prices depend on the selected flight, date and availability, and JetBlue notes fares can change until purchase. For current pricing, use JetBlue's own Best Fare Finder on jetblue.com rather than relying on any quoted figure.
Joining TrueBlue is free; its earned tiers (Mosaic 1 through Mosaic 4) are status levels, not paid plans, so you do not pay a subscription fee to have an account.
Step-by-step: book and pay
- Create or sign in to TrueBlue. A free account at jetblue.com speeds up checkout, but you can also book as a guest. Sign-up uses an email address to create your credentials.
- Search your flight. Enter your origin, destination and dates and run the search.
- Select flight and fare. Pick your outbound (and return) flights, then choose your onboard experience and Base/Standard/Flex option.
- Add travelers and extras. Enter traveler details and add seats, bags or other options; each one changes the total.
- Go to Review & Pay. This is the final checkout page where you enter payment details.
- Enter your Coinepay card. Type the card number, expiry and CVV from the Coinepay app. Enter the billing name and address exactly as they appear on your Coinepay profile.
- Complete any verification. If a 3-D Secure or one-time-code step appears, approve it, then confirm the purchase. You should receive a confirmation and itinerary.
A new card can be saved only during booking. To manage a stored card afterwards, sign in and go to the TrueBlue dropdown → Profile and Settings → Payments, where saved cards can be modified or deleted.
Other payment methods JetBlue lists
Besides cards, JetBlue accepts TrueBlue points, Cash + Points (from 500 points), JetBlue travel credit and Apple Pay, and for flight-only purchases its website lists PayPal, PayPal Credit, Venmo, MasterPass and ClarityPay. Online checkout permits at most two payment forms, in the combinations card + points or card + travel credit; to use two or more cards you must contact JetBlue, which normally carries a $25 nonrefundable per-person service fee (JetBlue lists an exception for payment methods unavailable online, such as multiple cards). ClarityPay is selected under Additional Payment Options at checkout and is managed by ClarityPay rather than in JetBlue's saved-card settings.
Troubleshooting a declined card
If your payment does not go through, JetBlue's booking-help page points to a short list of checks. Work through these before retrying.
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Payment fails for an online prepaid card | Balance does not cover the whole order | JetBlue requires an online prepaid card to cover the entire purchase. Top up in the Coinepay app so the balance exceeds the full total, then retry. |
| "Insufficient available credit" | Not enough funds on the card | Add funds, or reduce extras so the total fits your available balance. |
| Declined despite enough balance | Transaction or period spending limit on the card | Check your card's per-transaction and period limits in the Coinepay app and adjust if your plan allows. |
| Declined at the verification step | Card security settings or 3-D Secure | Approve the 3-D Secure prompt in the Coinepay app; make sure online or international use is enabled for the card. |
| "My banking institution declined the payment" | A generic message that may not reflect a real issuer decline | Retry once, confirm your details, then check your Coinepay transaction log; contact support if it recurs. |
| Checkout resets or won't load | Pop-up blocker, or 15+ minutes of inactivity timing out checkout | Disable pop-up blocking for jetblue.com and complete payment promptly after re-entering details. |
Billing address mismatch
A very common decline cause is a billing address that does not match the one on file for the card. Copy the name, street, city, postal code and country from your Coinepay profile into the JetBlue payment form exactly. Do not invent an address or use one that is not yours—mismatched or false details will cause further declines.
Merchant region checks
Some payment methods are region-restricted: for example, cash and ReadySTATION kiosks are not available at most airports outside the U.S., and Western Union applies to U.S. flights only. These do not affect a standard online card payment, but if your card's network or issuing region is not accepted, the charge may fail. If you are unsure, ask Coinepay support to confirm your card details before you book, and use JetBlue's official help pages for merchant-side questions.
After you pay: changes and cancellations
Keep your fare rules in mind. JetBlue lists a $150 per-person change or cancellation fee for Base fares and a $100 per-person same-day switch fee for non-Flex fares, subject to its exceptions. If you book at least seven days before departure, cancelling the entire reservation within 24 hours of booking avoids a cancellation fee (this does not apply to JetBlue Vacations). Refundable fares cancelled before departure return to your original payment method—meaning back to the Coinepay card you used—while nonrefundable fares cancelled before departure generally become travel credit valid 12 months from original ticketing. A no-show on an uncancelled nonrefundable fare forfeits its value.
For current fares, fees and terms, always check the official JetBlue pages, and for anything about your card, use the Coinepay app or reach us on Telegram.

FAQ
Can I use a Coinepay virtual card to book a JetBlue flight?
You can use any card that meets JetBlue's requirements at the Review & Pay step. JetBlue accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, JCB, Diners Club and UATP, and requires an online prepaid card to cover the full purchase. Coinepay does not publish its card network or type, so confirm with Coinepay support before booking and keep enough balance to cover the whole order.
Why was my card declined at JetBlue checkout?
Common causes JetBlue lists are insufficient available credit, transaction or period spending limits, pop-up blocking and card security settings, plus a 15-minute inactivity timeout. A billing address that doesn't match your card and an unapproved 3-D Secure prompt also cause declines. Fix these in the Coinepay app and retry.
Where do I update or remove a saved card on JetBlue?
Sign in, open the TrueBlue dropdown, go to Profile and Settings, then Payments to modify or delete saved cards. A new card can only be added during a booking, not from this screen.
Can I split a JetBlue payment across two cards?
Online checkout allows at most two payment forms, in the combinations card plus points or card plus travel credit. To pay with two or more cards you must contact JetBlue, which normally charges a $25 nonrefundable per-person service fee, though JetBlue lists an exception for payment methods unavailable online.
If I cancel, does the refund go back to my Coinepay card?
Refundable (Flex) fares cancelled before departure are refunded to the original payment method, which is the Coinepay card you used. Nonrefundable fares generally become travel credit valid 12 months from ticketing. Check your fare rules and JetBlue's fee page for details.
