You can enter a Coinepay virtual card at IDrive’s card checkout when signing up for a cloud-backup plan. This guide covers IDrive’s standard backup plans—not the separately priced IDrive e2 or IDrive 360 products—and explains how to check the amount due, enter your billing details, and handle a declined payment.

What you need before signing up

  • A Coinepay account with completed identity verification. Register through Coinepay if you have not already done so. After verification, you can view your virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV in the Coinepay app or self-service dashboard.
  • Enough available funds for the checkout total. Check the amount IDrive shows for your selected plan and term, including any applicable taxes, then check your available card funds in Coinepay. The displayed monthly equivalent for a yearly plan is not necessarily what you pay today.
  • Your real account and billing details. IDrive’s card form requests a billing address, country, and postal code. Enter your actual details and check that they match the information associated with your payment method. Do not substitute another country or an invented address to get through checkout.
  • Access to your email. You may need it for IDrive account setup, payment notices, and renewal reminders.

IDrive’s sign-up form displays Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover logos and offers card or PayPal payment. A displayed logo does not establish that any particular virtual card will be accepted. If you need to confirm whether your card meets IDrive’s payment requirements before purchasing, contact Coinepay support.

Choose the right IDrive plan and billing term

On IDrive’s official pricing page, the standard cloud-backup choices are Basic, IDrive Mini, IDrive Personal, IDrive Team, and IDrive Business. Basic includes 10 GB free and does not require a card. For a paid plan, compare both the storage tier and the billing term before proceeding to sign-up.

At the time of writing (October 2026), IDrive Personal listed monthly-payment options from 5 TB at $11.99 per month to 100 TB at $119.99 per month. IDrive Team listed matched computer, user, and storage tiers, beginning with 5 computers, 5 users, and 5 TB. IDrive Business listed a 1.25 TB monthly-payment option at $59.99 per month. These are examples, not a quote for your order; check IDrive’s official pricing page and the checkout summary for current prices.

Pay particular attention to labels such as billed annually. At the time of writing (October 2026), IDrive Mini showed 100 GB at $0.25 per month and 500 GB at $0.83 per month in its yearly-pricing section. Those figures were monthly equivalents, not stated monthly-payment prices. IDrive also offered yearly promotional rates and two-year terms. Introductory discounts were limited to new sign-ups, did not apply to mobile-app sign-ups, and were followed by standard pricing. Check the selected term, renewal terms, any promo code, and the amount due before authorizing payment.

How to subscribe to IDrive with your Coinepay card

  1. Open IDrive’s official pricing page. Choose a standard cloud-backup plan and the storage tier that fits your needs. Select the billing term deliberately rather than relying on the largest monthly-equivalent figure shown in an offer.
  2. Start IDrive sign-up. Enter the requested account information. The sign-up form also offers Google, Microsoft, and Apple sign-in options. Use an email address you can access and supply your real identity details wherever requested.
  3. Review the plan selection and optional promo code. Confirm that the plan, tier, and term shown on the sign-up form are the ones you intended. If you have an eligible promo code, enter it in the designated field and verify its effect in the order summary.
  4. Choose card payment. In Coinepay, retrieve your virtual card number, expiry date, and CVV. Enter them in IDrive’s card fields; its form labels the security-code field CVC. Type the details carefully rather than guessing if a field does not match.
  5. Complete the billing fields. Enter your genuine billing address, country, and postal code. IDrive may calculate taxes from the billing address, including VAT or GST where applicable. Eligible EU Team or Business customers may see an option to provide a VAT ID; use it only if it applies to your account.
  6. Check the order summary and terms. Review the total to be charged now, the billing term, and the applicable pricing and service terms. Confirm the order only when those details are correct. If your payment flow presents an additional authentication step, complete it as instructed rather than repeatedly submitting the form.
  7. Verify the result. Look for IDrive’s confirmation and check your email and account billing information. If the page does not clearly confirm payment, check your Coinepay transaction activity and IDrive account before trying again, so you do not submit an unintended duplicate order.

What to do if IDrive declines the card

A decline does not identify a single cause. Work through the checks below, then ask the relevant support team to investigate if the payment still fails. Do not keep changing your identity or address details to force a match.

Check the total and card details

Compare IDrive’s full checkout charge with the funds available to your Coinepay card. A yearly plan can be charged annually even when the pricing page presents a monthly equivalent, and applicable taxes can increase the total. If you need to add funds, use the options shown in your Coinepay app. Also recheck the card number, expiry date, and CVC. IDrive’s billing help identifies an incorrect card number or expiry as possible payment-failure causes.

Check the billing address

Make sure the country, street address, and postal code you entered are your genuine billing details. IDrive notes that address verification can fail for some valid non-US cards. If your details are correct but verification still fails, contact IDrive about the checkout and Coinepay support about the card details associated with your account. Do not replace a valid address with a made-up US address.

Check authentication and regional requirements

If an authentication challenge appears, follow its on-screen instructions and wait for a clear result before retrying. If a challenge cannot be completed, note what happened and contact Coinepay support; do not assume that every IDrive checkout uses the same authentication flow. IDrive also asks for a billing country, and payment availability or checks may vary by location. If IDrive indicates a country or card eligibility problem, ask IDrive what its requirement is and contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your card meets it before you buy. Do not use another person’s details or try to bypass a regional restriction.

If a renewal payment fails, watch for IDrive’s email and address it promptly. IDrive’s terms say non-payment may lead to cancellation, with a grace period of up to 30 days; that is not a promise that every account will remain available for 30 days.

Manage invoices, your card, and renewal

IDrive paid plans renew automatically. For accounts covered by IDrive’s billing instructions for accounts created after September 25, 2026, sign in and use username → My Account → Billing Information → Paid beside a transaction to find an invoice. To replace an expired card, go to username → My Account → Update Credit Card → Save Changes; if dues remain, select Apply Pending Charges. Account menus may differ for older accounts, so consult IDrive’s billing help if you do not see those paths.

To stop the next renewal on accounts covered by those instructions, use username → My Account → Profile Details → Cancel my auto-renewal before the renewal date. Turning off annual auto-renewal does not provide a prorated refund for unused time: IDrive says the account ends at the term’s end and its stored data is deleted. Plan how to retain any files you need before that happens.

If you want to close an account early, contact IDrive support about the applicable terms. IDrive says it issues refunds when an account is cancelled within 15 days of creation; later prorated refunds are considered case by case. Its billing help adds that a yearly-plan technical-issue exception may be prorated, but no refund is issued under that exception if support resolves the issue. Check the current terms rather than assuming that cancelling a renewal will reverse an existing charge.

FAQ

Does IDrive Basic need a payment card?

No. IDrive Basic includes 10 GB free and does not require a card.

Not necessarily. IDrive displays monthly equivalents for some annually billed plans. Check the billing term and full checkout total before paying.

Why did IDrive reject my Coinepay virtual card?

Check available funds against the full charge, then verify the card details and your real billing address. If an authentication or regional check fails, contact the relevant support team.

Where can I update a card for IDrive renewal?

For accounts covered by IDrive’s post–September 25, 2026 billing instructions, use username → My Account → Update Credit Card → Save Changes. Select Apply Pending Charges if dues remain.
