Google Workspace bundles Gmail, Drive, Meet, Calendar and the Docs editors into business-grade plans managed from the Admin console. If you run ads, AI tools and SaaS subscriptions through a single Coinepay virtual card, you may want to add Workspace to the same card. This guide walks through sign-up, billing setup and checkout, and explains an important payment-method restriction to check before you commit.

Before you start: an important card-type restriction

Google's own payment-options help page lists the networks it accepts for Workspace — Visa, Mastercard and American Express — but it also states that it excludes prepaid cards and virtual credit cards, among other methods, and that whether a credit or debit card works depends on your billing country and the product. This is a merchant policy set by Google, not by Coinepay.

Because of that policy, do not assume any particular card will be accepted at Workspace checkout. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Google's requirement before you buy, and open the checkout to see which methods appear for your billing country. You can reach the team through the Coinepay support page or Telegram. If the card is not accepted, Google also lists other options in some countries — for example bank-account direct debit in the US and UK — though availability varies.

What you need before you begin

  • A completed Coinepay account. You must register and finish identity verification (KYC) before using card services — start at the Coinepay registration page or the app on iOS and Google Play.
  • Your Coinepay virtual card details (number, expiry and CVV), visible in the dashboard once the card is issued.
  • Your real billing details — the name and address registered to you — so they match the issuer's records.
  • A Google sign-in. Business editions can start with a personal Gmail address or business email, or with a verified domain for extra features. Enterprise sign-up requires a verified domain.

Choose a Google Workspace plan

The self-service Business editions are Business Starter, Business Standard and Business Plus, and Business purchases are limited to 300 users. Google also sells Enterprise Standard and Enterprise Plus through its sales team, plus separately positioned editions such as Individual, Essentials, Frontline and Education, which have their own pricing and policies.

Each Business plan offers a Flexible plan and an Annual/Fixed-Term plan. The Annual/Fixed-Term option has a lower per-user rate but commits you for the term; billing can be monthly or yearly depending on the purchase. As a reference, Google's help page updated 7 October 2026 listed US rates per user per month (Flexible / Annual) of Starter $8.40 / $7, Standard $16.80 / $14 and Plus $26.40 / $22. Rates differ by currency — for example UK Starter £7 / £5.90 and India Starter ₹650 / ₹540 — and taxes such as Japan's 10% consumption tax can be added. Promotional checkout totals change over time, so always confirm the live figure on the official workspace.google.com pricing page before you sign up; Google shows the final price before sign-up completes.

Since January 2025 Google has included Gemini AI features in Business and Enterprise subscriptions, and from 1 October 2026 it began enforcing certain advanced-AI feature limits — a feature change, not a confirmed price change.

Step-by-step: sign up and set up billing

  1. Start the trial. From the Workspace site, pick your edition and begin sign-up. This starts a 14-day trial for up to 10 users. Google asks you to set up payment to start the trial but normally does not charge the method until the trial ends.
  2. Create your account. Enter your business details and either use an existing email or set up a domain. Follow the prompts to create your first admin user.
  3. Open billing setup. At the billing step you choose the country, currency, payment plan, payments profile, payment method and any applicable tax ID. Note that Google says the billing country and currency cannot be changed after setup is completed, so select them carefully.
  4. Add your card. Enter the Coinepay virtual card number, expiry and CVV exactly as shown in your dashboard, and enter the billing name and address that match your records. Save the method.
  5. Confirm the plan. Review the Flexible vs Annual/Fixed-Term choice and the shown total, then finish. If billing was not completed during sign-up, your account's primary super administrator can later go to Admin console → Billing → Subscriptions → Start Paid Service or Set Up Billing.

After the paid service starts, Google says it normally charges at the beginning of the following month and continues automatic monthly charges. An Annual/Fixed-Term commitment is not necessarily one up-front payment. Keep enough balance on your Coinepay card for each cycle; you can review stored methods under Admin console → Billing → Payment accounts → View payment methods.

If your card is declined: common causes

Google documents several billing messages, including "Authorization failed: No reason provided by your financial institution," "Invalid credit card details," "Invalid verification code," "Correct this card info or try a different card," and "Transaction declined: invalid payment method." Work through the checks below.

Card type not accepted

"Transaction declined: invalid payment method" can appear when the method does not fit Google's accepted list for your country, which excludes prepaid cards and virtual credit cards. If you see this, confirm with Coinepay support whether your card meets the requirement, and consider another accepted option in your country.

Insufficient balance or limits

Google lists card limits or insufficient funds as a documented cause. Check your available balance and any spending limit in the Coinepay app, then top up or raise the limit and retry.

Billing-address or phone mismatch

A "Correct this card info" or "Invalid credit card details" message often means the billing address, name or phone you entered does not match the issuer's records. Re-enter them to match your Coinepay registration exactly.

3-D Secure and verification codes

If a confirmation step or "Invalid verification code" appears, complete the authentication prompt from your Coinepay app or messages. Entering the code promptly before it expires usually clears the hold.

Expired or mistyped details

Confirm the card number, expiry and CVV are current and typed correctly. A single wrong digit triggers an invalid-card error.

No reason given by the bank

When you see "Authorization failed: No reason provided by your financial institution," Google says the issuing bank must explain the decline. Contact Coinepay support to check whether anything on the card side blocked the charge.

Region checks

Google says Workspace is available in most regions but restricts some business services in places such as Crimea, Cuba, the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Iran, North Korea and Syria. Use your real location and details; do not try to work around regional checks. Coinepay likewise does not serve sanctioned persons or comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions.

Managing, cancelling and refunds

For a Google-billed, domain-verified subscription, cancel under Admin console → Billing → Subscriptions → (your subscription) → Cancel Subscription. Cancelling during the 14-day trial carries no subscription charge. Cancelling a Flexible Plan stops new service charges immediately, though accrued use can still be billed. Cancelling an Annual/Fixed-Term Plan early leaves the remaining contract balance payable, and those term payments are not refunded. Eligible unused account credit can be requested under Billing → Payment accounts → (account ID) → Request a refund; promotional and courtesy credits are not refundable. Reseller, Gmail-account, Google Play and Apple-billed purchases cancel through different routes.

Any refund Google issues goes back to the original payment method, so keep your Coinepay card active while a subscription or refund is in progress.

FAQ

Does Google Workspace accept Coinepay virtual cards?

Google's payment-options page accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express but states it excludes prepaid cards and virtual credit cards, and acceptance depends on your billing country and the product. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Google's requirement before you buy, and check which methods appear at checkout for your country.

Will I be charged during the 14-day free trial?

Sign-up starts a 14-day trial for up to 10 users. Google asks you to set up a payment method to begin, but says it normally does not charge that method until the trial ends. If you cancel during the trial you incur no Workspace subscription charge.

How much does Google Workspace cost?

Prices vary by edition, currency and any taxes or promotions. Google's 7 October 2026 help page listed US Business rates per user per month (Flexible / Annual) of Starter $8.40 / $7, Standard $16.80 / $14 and Plus $26.40 / $22, with different figures in other currencies. Always confirm the live total on the official workspace.google.com pricing page before signing up.

Why was my card declined at Workspace checkout?

Common documented causes are an unaccepted payment method, insufficient funds or card limits, a billing-address or phone mismatch, an expired or mistyped card, or a 3-D Secure/verification step. Check your balance, limit and details in the Coinepay app, complete any authentication prompt, and contact support if the bank gives no reason.

Can I get a refund if I cancel?

For Google-billed, domain-verified subscriptions, cancelling a Flexible Plan stops new charges immediately while accrued use may still be billed; cancelling an Annual/Fixed-Term Plan early leaves the remaining term payable and non-refundable. Eligible unused account credit can be requested in Billing, but promotional and courtesy credits are not refundable.
