Google Calendar itself is free with any personal Google Account, so there is no standalone "Calendar subscription" to buy. What people usually mean by paying for Google Calendar is one of two things: subscribing to a paid Google plan that unlocks extra Calendar features, or charging clients for appointments through a booking page. This guide explains both flows, how a Coinepay virtual card fits in, and the card-type rules you need to know before you try to check out.
What "paying for Google Calendar" actually means
Ordinary calendars and one appointment-booking page come with a free personal Google Account. Paid plans buy additional capabilities. The plans Google lists as eligible to accept appointment payments are Google Workspace Individual, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, and eligible Education and Nonprofits subscriptions. Two separate money flows are involved:
- Your subscription payment to Google – what you pay Google for a Workspace plan.
- Appointment payments through Stripe – what your bookers pay you when you charge for appointments. This is a different transaction that runs through Stripe, not Google billing.
Before you register, create your Coinepay card in the iOS or Android app. If you are new, sign up and complete identity verification (KYC) first, then open a virtual card to get its number, expiry date and CVV instantly.
Important: check the card type Google accepts
This is the step most people miss. For Admin-console Google Workspace subscriptions, Google lists Visa, Mastercard and American Express among accepted major credit cards in more than 230 countries, and it states that prepaid cards and virtual credit cards are not accepted. Eligible debit cards and direct debit depend on your billing country and currency. Google Workspace Individual accepts credit cards only.
Because of that restriction, do not assume any virtual card will work for a Workspace subscription. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Google's requirement before you buy. If a particular card is not eligible, you may still be able to use it for the appointment-checkout flow through Stripe, which documents different card support (see below).
In India, Google notes that Indian debit cards cannot be used for automatic Workspace payments because of 3-D Secure verification issues, which can also affect some credit cards; the country table shows debit cards and NetBanking only for eligible manual payments.
What you need before you start
- A verified Coinepay account and an active virtual card (number, expiry, CVV).
- Your real billing name and address, matching your Coinepay records.
- A Google Account signed in on the device you will use.
- Enough available balance on the card for the plan total plus any taxes.
Plans and prices
Prices vary by region, currency, taxes and any active promotion, so always confirm the final figure on Google's own pricing page at sign-up. At the time of writing (October 2026), U.S. standard Workspace Business list prices were Starter $8.40 / $7, Standard $16.80 / $14 and Plus $26.40 / $22 per user per month — each pair being the Flexible and Annual-commitment plan, not two editions. Annual-commitment totals were $84 / $168 / $264 per user per year. Enterprise requires a sales quote. The Google Workspace Individual price was not publicly stated on the accessible help page; Google directs you to see the price at sign-up. The U.S. pricing page also displayed a limited promotion dated September 24–December 24, 2026 with a 14-day trial and introductory discounts; the final offer is shown at checkout.
Step-by-step: subscribe to a paid Workspace plan
- Go to Google Workspace and start sign-up for your chosen plan. Business sign-up begins a 14-day trial, and the paid subscription starts automatically after the trial unless you cancel.
- For Business/Enterprise, open the Admin console → Billing → Subscriptions. Set your country, currency, payment plan (Flexible or Annual commitment), payments profile and payment method.
- When prompted for a card, enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry and CVV, and the billing name and address exactly as held by Coinepay.
- Complete any 3-D Secure confirmation your card requires, then save. You can review cards and invoices later under Admin console → Billing → Payment accounts → View payment methods / View invoices.
For Workspace Individual, which uses your personal Google Account, you can start from a Calendar or Meet subscription prompt. It also offers a 14-day trial with monthly or annual renewal. Manage the card under Manage your account → How you'll pay → Change payment method. Remember Individual is credit-card only. Mobile sign-ups made without Admin-console billing are handled through Google Play on Android or Apple's Settings app on iOS instead.
Step-by-step: charge clients for appointments via Stripe
If your goal is to collect payments for bookings, you need an eligible subscription and a connectable Stripe account.
- In Google Calendar, open Settings → General → Appointment schedules → Connect Stripe.
- Set the fee under the schedule's Payments & cancellation policy.
- Your booker picks a slot and completes checkout through Stripe. Documented checkout choices are credit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Stripe lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diners Club and China UnionPay among cards a U.S. Stripe account can accept, but which cards work for a specific booking depends on the connected Stripe account, so it is not guaranteed. Note that legacy appointment slots stopped being bookable on August 7, 2024; Google now directs everyone to appointment schedules.
Troubleshooting a declined card
Google's billing pages document messages such as "Authorization failed: No reason provided by your financial institution," "Invalid credit card details," "Invalid verification code," "Correct this card info or try a different card," and "Transaction declined: invalid payment method." Common causes and fixes:
- Card type not accepted. Workspace subscriptions do not accept prepaid or virtual credit cards. Confirm with Coinepay support that your card qualifies before retrying.
- Insufficient balance or card limit. Top up in the Coinepay app and check that the available amount covers the plan plus taxes.
- Billing address mismatch. Enter the name and address exactly as held by Coinepay; mismatched billing information is a documented decline cause.
- 3-D Secure. Complete the verification step your card prompts. In India, 3-D Secure issues can block automatic payments on some cards.
- Online, recurring or international blocks. Cards blocked for online, recurring or cross-border transactions will fail. Check your Coinepay card settings.
- Region checks. Workspace Individual requires both your location and payment profile to be in a supported country or region, and Stripe merchant availability is country-limited.
Google notes your card issuer may hold the precise decline reason. If everything looks correct and the charge still fails, contact Coinepay support or reach us on Telegram to check the card status.
Cancellation and refunds
Workspace Business Flexible cancellation stops new charges, though accrued use remains payable; Annual/Fixed-Term cancellation leaves the remaining commitment payable. Cancel in Admin console → Billing → Subscriptions, and any remaining credit can be requested as a refund. Workspace Individual cancellation stops future renewals but keeps features through the paid period; purchases are generally nonrefundable, with partial-refund exceptions listed for Germany and Israel. Cancelling a paid appointment does not automatically refund the booker — the organizer sets the policy and issues refunds in Stripe, since Google Calendar does not process the payment or store card numbers.
