"Gemini AI Pro" is how many people describe the paid Gemini subscription, but the official plan name is Google AI Pro (previously marketed as "Gemini Advanced" and "Google One AI Premium"). This guide walks through what you need, how to subscribe, how to add a Coinepay virtual card at checkout, and how to work through the most common decline messages. Google bills this subscription through Google One, so the steps below follow Google's own checkout flow.

Before you start

You'll need a few things ready so checkout doesn't stall:

  • A personal Google Account. Google AI Pro requires a personal account; if you are already a Google One subscriber billed through a third-party partner or Pixel Pass, you cannot sign up through the standard Pro route.
  • A funded Coinepay virtual card. Create one in the Coinepay app after you register and complete identity verification (KYC). Your card number, expiry date and CVV appear instantly in the app or the 24/7 self-service dashboard.
  • Your real billing details — the name, address and country tied to your account. Google uses this information for payment checks, so it must match your real identity.
  • Confirmation that Google AI Pro is available where you are. Google lists Pro in more than 150 countries, but availability is country- and feature-dependent, so check your region's plan list first.

Download the Coinepay app from the App Store or Google Play if you haven't already.

Know the plans and prices

The personal Gemini tiers are Free, Google AI Plus, Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra (Ultra has 5x and 20x usage options). At the time of writing (October 2026), the monthly Pro prices shown on Google's public pages were:

RegionGoogle AI Pro (monthly)
United States$19.99
United Kingdom£18.99
CanadaCA$26.99
Germany€21.99
AustraliaA$32.99
India₹1,950

Pro offers monthly or annual billing; the annual price isn't confirmed here. Prices vary by region and change over time, so always confirm the current figure on Google's official Gemini subscriptions page before you subscribe. Google also announced an eligible-student offer (one year of Pro in the US, or Plus in 140+ countries) with a redemption deadline of December 31, 2026 that renews at the standard price unless cancelled.

Important: a note on virtual cards and billing route

How your card is accepted depends on which checkout route Google uses in your country. Google One's own checkout lists credit cards, US-only bank accounts, PayPal, and Google Play balance in selected regions. When the purchase is routed through Google Play, Google's help pages list virtual credit cards among the unsupported payment types, alongside wire transfers and health savings accounts.

Because acceptance depends on your region and the billing route, don't assume either outcome. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Google's requirements for your country before you buy, and keep a backup plan in mind if your region routes payment through Google Play.

Step-by-step: subscribe to Google AI Pro

  1. Sign in to your Google Account and open gemini.google.com, or go through Google One.
  2. In Gemini, open Settings & help → View Subscriptions. This takes you into the Google One subscription flow.
  3. Select the Google AI Pro plan and choose monthly or annual billing.
  4. Review the price and the next billing date shown on screen, then click Agree.
  5. Choose a payment method. To add your Coinepay card, select the option to add a new card and enter the card number, expiry date and CVV from the Coinepay app.
  6. Enter the billing address exactly as it appears on your Coinepay account, then click Subscribe.
  7. If prompted, complete any additional verification (see 3-D Secure below) to finish.

Once the charge succeeds, Pro features — including the Gemini 4 Argon model that began rolling out to AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in October 2026 — become available on your account.

Add or change your billing method later

To update the card Google charges on a computer, go to Google One → Settings → Change payment method, then follow the route to Manage → Update. You can also edit saved payment details at payments.google.com. From Gemini, the Manage subscription link opens the same Google One settings, where Manage membership → Change membership plan lets you switch tiers.

Troubleshooting common card declines

Google lists several possible causes for a failed payment: an expired card, incorrect card details or billing address, insufficient funds, an issuer block on online or international payments, or a request for identity verification. A single error message doesn't prove which one applies to your account. Documented messages include "Transaction declined: invalid payment method" (OR_CCREU_01) and "Correct this card info or try a different card" (OR-HDT-14). Some users have also reported OR-FGEMF-71 together with a request for documents. Work through the checks below.

Insufficient balance

Confirm your Coinepay card has enough to cover the full plan price plus any currency conversion. Top up in the Coinepay app and retry. Remember a subscription also needs funds available on each renewal date, not just the first charge.

Billing address mismatch

The name and address you enter at Google checkout should match the details on your Coinepay account. A mismatch is a frequent cause of OR-HDT-14-style errors. Re-check each field and remove extra spaces or an outdated postcode.

3-D Secure / verification step

Google may route the payment through an extra verification step. Make sure you can receive Coinepay notifications and approve the request promptly in the app; if it times out, start checkout again. If Google asks for documents to verify your identity, follow the in-product prompts.

Issuer block on international or online payments

If the card details are correct and funds are available, the transaction may still be blocked at the network level. Confirm in the Coinepay app that the card is active and not restricted, and contact Coinepay support if a specific decline keeps recurring.

Merchant region checks

Google AI Pro is sold on country-specific pages, and availability is feature- and country-dependent. If checkout won't proceed, confirm Pro is offered in your country and that your Google Account region matches your billing details. Use your real location and account details — don't try to work around a regional restriction.

Canceling and refunds

You can cancel anytime through Gemini → Settings & help → Manage subscription → Cancel membership, or from Google One settings. Pro benefits continue until the current plan period ends. Google states that partial billing periods are not refunded unless applicable law requires it, and most storage-plan purchases are non-refundable; purchases made through Google Play or Apple follow their own refund routes. Google documents a possible immediate cancellation and prorated refund in Israel, so check the rules for your own country and purchase route.

Keep your Coinepay card organized

If you run several subscriptions or ad accounts, you can issue separate Coinepay virtual cards and set custom spending limits per card, which makes it easier to track what Gemini and other services charge each month. Manage everything from the Coinepay app or the 24/7 dashboard. For account-specific questions, reach the team via support or Telegram.

FAQ

Is the subscription called Gemini AI Pro or Google AI Pro?

The official plan name is Google AI Pro. "Gemini AI Pro" is a common informal description, and "Gemini Advanced" and "Google One AI Premium" are former names for the paid tier.

Will my Coinepay virtual card work for Google AI Pro?

It depends on your country and the billing route. Google One's checkout lists credit cards, but when the purchase routes through Google Play, Google lists virtual credit cards as unsupported. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Google's requirements before you buy.

How much does Google AI Pro cost?

Prices vary by region. At the time of writing (October 2026) the monthly price was $19.99 in the US, £18.99 in the UK, CA$26.99 in Canada and ₹1,950 in India. Always check Google's official Gemini subscriptions page for the current price.

What does the OR_CCREU_01 error mean at checkout?

It shows as "Transaction declined: invalid payment method." The message alone doesn't confirm the cause. Check your balance, card details and billing address, complete any verification step, and contact Coinepay support if it keeps recurring.

How do I cancel Google AI Pro?

Go to Gemini → Settings & help → Manage subscription → Cancel membership, or cancel from Google One settings. Pro benefits run until the period ends, and partial periods are generally not refunded unless applicable law requires it.
