Claude Team is Anthropic's collaborative plan for organizations, with shared workspaces and Standard or Premium seats. Paying for it means adding a card at checkout and keeping it on file for recurring charges. This guide shows how to set up a Coinepay virtual card, complete the Claude Team sign-up, and resolve the most common reasons a card is declined.

What you need before you start

  • A verified Coinepay account. You must register and complete identity verification (KYC) before you can create or use a virtual card. If you have not done this yet, create your Coinepay account and finish verification first.
  • A Coinepay virtual card with enough available balance to cover the first charge. Open the Coinepay app (iOS or Google Play) or the dashboard to view your card number, expiry date, CVV and balance.
  • A business email address. Claude Team is built for organizations, and the creator of a new organization signs in with a work email; public-domain addresses cannot create the organization, and invited members need an allowed email domain.
  • Your real billing details. Use the name and billing address that match your card records, exactly as held by the issuer.

Team requires at least two members and supports up to 150 seats. If you only need Claude for yourself, a personal Pro or Max plan is the individual option instead.

Claude Team plans and pricing

Team has two seat types that an organization can mix: Standard and Premium. At the time of writing (October 2026), Anthropic's published US prices are US$25 per Standard seat per month on monthly billing, or US$20 per seat per month billed annually (US$240 per seat upfront). Premium is US$125 per seat per month monthly, or US$100 per seat per month billed annually (US$1,200 per seat upfront). These exclude applicable tax.

Regional prices, currencies and tax treatment vary, and Anthropic directs buyers to the location-specific upgrade page. Always confirm the current figure for your region on Claude's official pricing page before you commit. Discounted Team offers also exist for eligible scientists and for eligible nonprofits in low- or middle-income countries, with verification required and final pricing confirmed at signup.

Create your Coinepay virtual card

  1. Sign in to the Coinepay app or dashboard and open the card section.
  2. Create a new virtual card. Coinepay issues the card number, expiry date and CVV instantly.
  3. Add or confirm funds so the balance comfortably covers your chosen plan. Remember that Team bills per seat, so a two-seat Standard subscription costs roughly double a single seat each cycle.
  4. Keep the card details handy for checkout, and note the billing address associated with your Coinepay account.

If you run ad or tooling budgets, you can also issue separate virtual cards for different purposes and set custom spending limits per card, which keeps your Claude Team billing isolated from other subscriptions.

Step-by-step: subscribe to Claude Team

  1. Sign in or create the organization. A new organization creator signs in at claude.ai/login with a business email, follows onboarding and selects Team. An existing Free, Pro or Max user with a work email can start at claude.ai/upgrade.
  2. Choose seats and billing cadence. Select how many Standard and Premium seats you need and pick monthly or annual billing. Annual billing is charged upfront per seat.
  3. Enter billing details. Checkout collects your address and, where applicable, offers an optional tax or VAT-ID field. Enter the address exactly as it appears on your card records.
  4. Add the Coinepay card. Type in the virtual card number, expiry date and CVV. Team accepts credit, debit and prepaid cards; it does not accept PayPal, Venmo or ACH bank transfers.
  5. Complete any 3-D Secure step. If the bank requests authentication, approve it in the Coinepay app or follow the confirmation prompt so the charge can go through.
  6. Confirm the purchase. Review the total, then submit. The payment method on file is charged at the start of each billing cycle.

If you upgrade an existing personal Pro or Max account in place, that individual subscription is cancelled and unused time is refunded on a prorated basis. Keeping the personal account separate instead leaves that subscription active.

Managing billing after you subscribe

Owners manage the Team payment method and invoices under Organization settings > Billing. A few things worth knowing:

  • Adding members or upgrading seats mid-cycle incurs an immediate prorated charge, so make sure your card has enough balance.
  • Removing a member does not immediately refund or credit a seat. Reducing the purchased seat allocation takes effect at the next renewal.
  • To avoid the next charge, an Owner or Primary Owner cancels under Organization settings > Billing. Anthropic's guidance says to cancel at least 24 hours before renewal; access continues through the current cycle.
  • Payments are generally non-refundable except where the applicable terms provide or law requires. Anthropic's refund guide offers an eligibility check through Get help > Claude Refund Request, and notes EEA/UK customers may receive a use-prorated refund within 14 days of purchase.

Troubleshooting: why a card might be declined

Anthropic lists several possible decline causes: an unsupported card origin or billing country, mismatched billing details, incomplete 3-D Secure authentication, an unsupported payment method, insufficient funds, or a temporary technical or network problem. It also notes your issuing bank may hold the specific reason. Work through these checks:

Insufficient balance

Confirm your Coinepay card has enough available balance for the full charge, including tax and any prorated amount for extra seats. Top up in the Coinepay app and try again.

Billing address mismatch

The billing address you enter at checkout should match the records tied to your card. Re-check the street, city, postal code and country against your Coinepay account details and correct any typo.

3-D Secure not completed

If authentication was cancelled or timed out, the charge fails. Retry the payment and complete the verification prompt in the Coinepay app when it appears.

Merchant region and card-origin checks

Team is offered only in certain supported locations, and your card's origin country and billing address must be eligible for processing. A country appearing on Claude's access list does not by itself confirm checkout or card processing there. If you suspect a region or card-origin issue, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets this requirement before you buy.

If a payment keeps failing after these checks, contact your issuer for the specific decline reason, and reach Coinepay via the support team or Telegram for help with your card.

A note on API credits

As of October 2026, Anthropic began rolling out monthly Claude Platform API credits for Team seats. Its help article lists US$20 per Standard seat or US$100 per Premium seat, pooled and capped at US$500 per month, claimable after seven days on an eligible plan. This is a separate benefit and does not change how your Team subscription itself is billed to your card.

Once your Coinepay card is set up and funded, the whole flow is quick: pick seats, enter matching billing details, approve any authentication, and confirm. Keep an eye on your balance before each renewal so recurring charges clear smoothly. You can manage everything from the Coinepay dashboard or app, available 24/7. FAQ

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card to pay for Claude Team?

Claude Team accepts credit, debit and prepaid cards, and you enter the card number, expiry and CVV at checkout. Your card's origin country and billing address must be eligible for Anthropic's processing, and the billing address must match your records. If you are unsure your card qualifies, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you buy.

How much does Claude Team cost?

At the time of writing (October 2026), Anthropic's published US prices are US$25 per Standard seat per month (US$20 billed annually) and US$125 per Premium seat per month (US$100 billed annually), excluding tax. Prices, currencies and tax vary by region, so check Claude's official pricing page for your location.

Why was my card declined at Claude Team checkout?

Common causes Anthropic lists are an unsupported card origin or billing country, mismatched billing details, incomplete 3-D Secure authentication, an unsupported payment method, insufficient funds, or a temporary technical issue. Check your balance and billing address in the Coinepay app, complete any authentication prompt, and ask your issuer for the exact reason.

Does removing a Team member give me a refund?

No. Removing a member does not immediately refund or credit a seat. Reducing your purchased seat allocation takes effect at the next renewal, so plan seat changes with the billing cycle in mind.

How do I cancel Claude Team to stop the next charge?

An Owner or Primary Owner cancels under Organization settings > Billing. Anthropic recommends cancelling at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge; Team access continues through the current cycle. Payments are generally non-refundable except where terms or law provide.
